Ornate but really old. Needs major renovation, refurbishing and restoration. No chef. Only spanish speaking check-in clerk. climb 4 floors to get to the room. very poor shabby, somewhat dirty white linen. Plastic shower caddy. Thin wire (dry cleaner) hangers in the closet. Black insects small and big crawling on floors and walls, emerging from crevices in door frame and... More

What an amazing hotel full of chandeliers and antiques every where you look! In an excellent location in a very safe area right by river with walking distance to Las Penas, Malecon 2000, iguana park and cathedral. Couple of nearby bars. Room was great, massive comfortable bed, ensuite, air con, fridge and complementary water. Rooftop bar with river view. Friendly... More

The taxi brought us to the door -fortunately! Situated at the end of a pedestrianised cobbled Street. Small hotel with only about 9 or 10 rooms. Ours was beautiful. Was cool, quiet, large, views out over the park to the river and beautifully decorated. Crystal chandeliers hang everywhere. The ceilings are amazing and the antique furniture make it all unique.... This place is perfectly located in old Guayaquil with a super view of the river, nice setting and super welcoming staff. It gives you a sense of what Guayaquil used to be. The rooms are vast based with natural light. Great bathrooms and comfortable lobby. It is the kind of hotel which makes you feel home.

The ultimate quirky hotel, but don't rely on GPS to find it! In a pedestrianised (except for residents and guests) part of the old city, at the beginning of the Malecon, this living museum has plenty to amuse and entertain if you want a break from the city. Large comfortable bed, air conditioning and river view. Service inevitably slow as... More

Pleasantly surprised when we arrived here, the antiques and architecture held us captive along with the views from the balcony where we watched iguanas and various birds in the treetops. We ate dinner here and was spoilt by the staff, we stayed in room 2 which was very good. Right in Santa Ana district this is a fabulous place to... More

The hotel is at the end of a cobbled street in the La Pena area of Guayaquil so it is a quiet spot. It is a beautiful old building with great views of the river & is filled with all sorts of quirky lights, furniture & nick knacks. The staff were friendly & the hotel certain,y felt safe. The only... A rare view of colonial Ecuador and the birth place of Sir Frederick Ashton. We were taken around by Abel, the restorer of this intriguing house. I highly recommend Rooms 1 and 2 with their amazing views of the river. A haven in a city that struggles with keeping apace with the speed of a growing city. Dinner at Plaza... More

The ultimate quirky, delightful hotel, in a wonderful location. I flew into Guayaquil and was advised by a fellow passenger not to go out along, ever, in Guayaquil. Not what I wanted to hear as a solo traveller with a day to explore the city. But the location is wonderful - best in Guayaquil - , the staff are so... More

This hotel is quite charming but only for a few days. Do not go here is you are not in good shape. Just to get to eh front desk you need to walk up 2 flights of stairs from street level. The hot water in the shower tends to go on and off so makes taking a shower interesting. Luckily... More
