#2 of 13 Specialty lodging in Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve
Caiman Lodge is at one of the best spots in the reserve, really close to the Laguna Grande and reachable by canoe all year long, not depending on the season. The lodge accommodates up to 40 people in three individual guest huts; each hut has 2 - 4 double or triple bedrooms (as required) each with its own private bathroom and shower. There is also a relaxing area, hammocks and an amazing tower (3 floors are fit with triple rooms as those mentioned above) with a great view over the lagoon and the jungle from the 7th top floor.

I’ve spent 5 days in Caiman lodge at the beginning of August and had an incredible experience! I arrived on my own but from the first moment on I met lovely people and did great tours. I love the staff, super friendly and always there to help you. There’s a range of activities and if there is any question you want to ask, you will get an answer. 5 days without internet and civilization are easily spend in That beautiful area and lodge and for me it was one of the best decisions I made on my south- and Central America tour yet!

Very nice place with very nice staff. Great environment! Great trips around the flooded jungle forest on canoes (and some hiking, too) with its lakes, lagoons and canals, at all times - sunset, sunrise, day, night! The guides are flexible, friendly and remarkably competent, their knowledge and spotting animals ability pretty amazing. Highly recemmended in case you visit Ecuador.

Staying at this lodge was the highlight of my trip! The staff were all wonderful! Especially Luis and Elvis. Their in depth knowledge of the ecology of the rainforest was what made my experience special. I saw boas, tarantulas, monkeys, caimans, and more! The beds were comfortable and the food was delicious, although it would have been nice to try some regional dishes.

We had a great time and it was the best decision to travel to Caiman Lodge. It is such a peaceful and beautiful place! Our guide, David, was the best. He taught us a lot about nature and wildlife and was giving us the best care. With him by our side we felt absolutey safe in the jungle. If you book your trip ask for David as your guide. You won't regret it! :)

This was a great trip in the jungle. The rooms are pretty cozy. With private bathroom and hot water in the shower (that is pretty enjoyable in the middle of the jungle). The food was really good and they are good portions so we weren’t never hungry (thanks to Mario, the chef). We were in good hands : between Manuel (the driver of the boat) who brought us at good destination every time and David our guide. His experience with fauna and flora was really instructive. We’ve learn a lot of things during those 4 days. We were lucky enough to see dolphins, a lot of monkeys, many species of birds, a few caimans, snakes, insects and a lot of others animals! We truly loved this tour in the Amazon ! It really worths it. Thanks to Caiman lodge, thanks to David!
