We were excited to visit the Jungle. This was not a great experience. 1. Boat had engine issues on ride to the jungle.....4 days later on leaving the jungle, they put our luggage on the boat with engine troubles and thus we were delayed at the arrival dock 3 hours..waiting for another boat to retrieve our luggage from the broken boat.....was totally predictable 4 days earlier. 2. Our English speaking guide got "sick" almost as soon as we arrived....thus, we had a "barely english" speaking guide...was not actually a guide, but was a boat driver that they tossed into the guide position....POOR EXPERIENCE. 3. One day the boat driver (guide) decided to take us searching for an Anagonda.....We spent 6 hours buried in mud up to our hips, ran out of water, ate lunch at 3 PM.....it was a total disaster...again YIKES... 4. Walk in jungle was poor with the "boat driver". 5. Requested vegetarian food....we were provided a lot of FRIED food with animal fats...defeats the purpose....ugh WOULD NOT RETURN TO THE NICKY LODGE...although we love the jungle. RNelson (Austin, TX)

It is always important the comments of all our clients, it is always good to know what we should correct. We greatly respect your report regarding your experience in the jungle, but if we allow ourselves to make some comments about it: During a couple of weeks the dry season in the jungle decreased the water level which made it difficult to transport the canoes and the trips took a little more time than normal, we are always coordinating our operations and more when at the exit We have passengers who have to return to Quito on the same day with the private bus, so on the last day there was a 50-minute difference between the two canoes that left, but finally arrived on time to Lago Agrio. As for our guide Evi, pitifully he got sick and of course it is our obligation to take him out of emergency to the nearest city to assist him. For these cases, we have qualified guides from the community that help us in emergent moments, so we also give them the opportunity, so that as soon as possible we had another guide who took charge of our group on Saturday 15th, He has already worked with us and his English is good and with a good knowledge of the jungle. The canoe that was with us had to go out with our sick guide, and we requested another canoe to continue with the activities, but with his own biker, although it is true all the boys in the community know how to handle the canoes, but we never use the guides as bikers or vice versa. As we did know, we regret and apologize to the whole group that our guide Evi had to leave, but they were causes of force majeure, now he is well and again with us. As for the report on meals, in the case of passengers who require a special diet our chef offers vegetarian dishes and the important thing to know we never use animal fat ever, we are always checking the quality of the products that enter each trip In this way we guarantee, like the other services, the food has the best rating and satisfaction from our customers. Your comments are very important to us and that is why with all due respect we allow ourselves to make these clarifications, although they may not change your experience on your trip but will allow us to reflect how our operations are carried out and how we can give an immediate response to any event. We are one of the most serious companies in Ecuador, and if something happens any time during the stay of our passengers we give a solution as quick as it happens and always with high quality, and you know it, because you were there, and you saw how quick we were at finding the solution. Thank you for your visit at our Nicky Amazon Lodge, and you will be welcome anytime you want to come back

Thank you so much for an unforgettable time at Nicky Lodge! I have to admit that I didn't expect such a high level of service. I felt like being in a 5* Resort 😊. The food was outstanding, the rooms clean and spacious and the guide (Violeta) very caring and knowledgeable.

My wife and I did the 4 day tour to Cuyabeno. Our guides were Jefferson and Wilson. I can’t recommend this tour more. The guides were excellent and it was clear this was a passion, not a job. The lodging/facilities were comfortable and clean and we saw so, so much amazing wildlife and plant life. Too many highlights to speak of individually. My wife and I aren’t the most hardcore campers/outdoorsy types and it was amazing and we felt so comfortable. This tour was the highlight of our 2 months in South America.

My friends and I could not have had a better experience than that we experienced at the Nicky Lodge. Diego and Bangla were fantastic hosts and Benito was an excellent boatsmen. How they spot some of the wildlife in the trees is beyond me. On our 4 day trip, we saw tons of different birds, Giant River Otters, Pink River dolphin, 6 species of monkey, tons of strange insects, and off course 6 different species of monkeys and many more species I probably forgot. The food was healthy and the schedules were flexible to accommodate for potential rain to make the most of our time there. Make sure you bring cash though if you want to drink from the bar and also for tips. I do plan to bring my father to the Amazon and will be staying in Nicky Lodge Again.
