We had an amazing trip! Our guide, Fabrizio, was very good and he taught us a lot about the jungle and the animals. The places we saw were so beautiful. The place was great and the food was amazing. I really enjoyed that the tour was about admiring nature without disrupting it.

So much of your experience in the jungle is dependent on the knowledge of your guide. It is unlikely you will see many animals without the expert eyes of someone who has a lot of practice doing so, and we were lucky enough to have Winston as our guide who was incredible at spotting different insects, animals, and birds and describing them and their importance within the jungle. He was kind, animated, and passionate about his work which heightened our experience exponentially. The food we were served was absolutely delicious, and the lodge itself was cozy and ideal for rest periods (especially with the hammocks provided outside of each room). The service of the rest of the staff was great, and everyone was always incredibly kind and helpful. Spending time in the Amazon is a must-do experience, and I would highly recommend booking with Guacamayo Lodge.

Had a really great time at the Guacamayo Lodge. Our guide Wiston showed us a lot of animals and plants and knew very much and interesting details about the rainforest, especially the Cuyabeno Resort. Thanks for all, Greetings from Germany

We had a great experience at Guacamayo Lodge. The accommodations were comfortable (though you are in the jungle, so don't expect luxury), the food was excellent, and we had everything that we needed. Our guide, Willian, was so very knowledgeable and I could tell that during our entire stay he was always on the lookout for new things to point out to us. We were on the fence between the two night and three night stay and glad that we chose the latter as two nights would have been too short to see so many of the things that we enjoyed seeing. Highly recommended!

Stayed there in June 2022. 4 days / 3 nights. 4 days is a great choice because tourists arrive on different days, so it's possible that you'll experience some activities more than once (we did the laguna 3 times). Same as other reviews regarding staff, location and experience: excellent. I was there during the rainy season so the river was high, the hole lodge was surrounded by water. This is not an issue, it means that swimming in front of the lodge is easier (water level higher) and reaching the lodge only takes 2h. There is no need to help push the boat. A couple of other things to consider: Animals are wild, they mostly hide way up in the trees. If you do not have a 200mm zoom minimum, you won't have a lot of great photos. A pair of binoculars is also great to have, otherwise a lot of birds will look dark and pale. Monkeys are easier to watch without binoculars. Somehow we saw most of the big animals while cruising on the boat along the river. We mostly saw tiny spiders and frogs during the day and night walk. If you're the hungry type, bring some snacks with you. You can buy some at a shop that's located right before you get on the boat to the lodge. There's only electricity for a couple of hours in morning and night. There is no plug in the room, they're all located in a communal area so charging equipment will have to be planned. There's a lot of plugs though. Bring mosquito repellent that also works for sand flies. The lodge provides sturdy gum boots and rain poncho big enough to cover your backpack. If you expect a quiet retreat in the jungle, it relies on the other guests. There is not much noise insulation so pray for a quiet week without families.

I can't recommend it more. It was absolutely amazing experience, the jungle trip itself is just a must for anyone who visits Ecuador. Be ready for very active time and watching a lot of animals. You will not be bored, but additionally the lodge itself is really great. They are an ecolodge and guides are very knowledgeable about Amazonia and how to protect it. Also, they simply love what they are doing. It's wonderful to see it. Neiser, William and permanently happy and excited Victor, wish you all the best. Also, all of other workers there are just such sweethearts, they will help you with everything. Food is so good, if you have any special food requirements, just let them know. My vegetarian food was delicious. There were other people with many food allergies and they still managed to cook for them. Highly recommended!!

Best trip of our lives! We spent 3 nights and 4 days in The Cuyabeno Reserve and stayed at the Guacamayo Lodge, we couldn’t have picked a better lodge! The service, hospitality and the food were simply great. But what made the experience even better were the guides, Elivis, Bruce and Washington. They were all extremely passionate about their job and made everyone fell in love with the jungle and its inhabitants. We were able to see many animals such as various species of monkeys, birds, insects, pink dolphins, caimans and even snakes; the guides always gave a clear explanation about all of them. We would recommend the lodge and the entire trip to anyone because it will fill your mind and your heart and you won’t be able to ever forget the feeling while cruising and swimming in the river, watching the breathtaking sunsets and listening to the many sounds of the jungle. Regards from Francesca e Andrea

I didn't expect this to be so good. The staff at Guacamayo Ecolodge was really outgoing and helpful. The food was very tasty and portions were big enough. Motorboat drivers were amazing at navigating as they've been probably raised by jaguars and hence could see in the darkness. Our guide Francesco was incredible at spotting wild animals and telling us about them. During our trip, we saw an anaconda, a couple of pythons, pink dolphins, a cayman, a few kinds of monkeys, toucans, parrots, various tarantulas, spiders, butterflies, and other bugs. Thank you guys for this awesome trip!

This trip was AMAZING. We did 5 days, 4 nights. The food was really good, the guides are speaking english and they have unreal knowledge. We had Fransisco as a guide, his enthousiasm was very pure. He grew up in the Amazone and knows all the ins and outs. The trips are great, we have seen birds monkeys slots pink dolphins anaconda and other snakes and many more! The bus going there was spacious and it goes by night so you can do a good sleep. The lodge is very clean and good organized. With hot water showers and working toilets. I would definitely recommend this trip!

The guacamayo lodge is a Beautiful place deep in the amazone of Ecuador. The last part of the journey is already a big adventure because you have to take a motorized canoe down the river for 2 hours. The host were very friendly and the guide, Francisco, really made the trip incredible with his knowledge, sharp eyes, good stories and humor. We have seen so many beautiful animals and after every trip you get a good meal at the lodge, a warm bed and a room with your own bathroom. What an amazing experience, very grateful!
