Great family hotel, a lot to do for kids and parents. Great view, good food, clean and nice location. Stuff is very polite and nice. Rooms are big enough with balcony and great view over the sea or old town Rovinj. Beach and pools are nice and clean.
Amazing staff, good food, tons of stuff for kids (our son loves this place), nice spa and great gym. This year, they added a new beach which is really nice (it is still a stone beach, no sand, but it is still great). We’re regulars here and is our favorite place to stay in Croatia. People here are super professional. An advice for smaller families...do upgrade to Grand a Room, it is worth it. It is big with great view. Once a Covid is gone, do book in advance, this place gets sold out well before season. Few improvement areas : - parking would be an issue if not for Covid. This needs to be fixed before next season. - pool and beach crew is not too proactive and something downright rude...total opposite to folks in kids’ club or at reception - pool bar closes at 6 PM, that is a shame, way too early - a refresh (repair and repaint) would be good after 4 years - elevators can be annoying - whomever designed this place made a major error by having only 3 elevators - be ready to wait Ask for higher floor...elevator wait will be longer but view and experience are better.…
I am writing this review while still in the hotel as I am quite surprised by the situation. In April in Rovinj the thermometer hits over 20 degrees for most of the days and the hotel still hasnt turned on the AC. Our room has an 8 meter glass wall facing the sun and a tiny balcony. When we checked in, the room thermometer showed 27.3 degrees, we feel like in a green house with stuffy air and the balcony is too tiny to ventilate the room. We had to put our daughter to sleep and stay for 2.5 hours in a room that you cant breathe in. When I asked the reception staff they told me to leave the balcony door open when we leave the room and it will be better, we were offered to be moved to another room but when asked to get a key in 5 minutes because our daughter is sleeping and we need to transfer her while she is still in deep sleep we were told it is not possible to get a new room key in a short period of time. Even the housekeeper that was very kind could not understand why did we get this smelly room, everytime she knocked to check if we were OK she would comment that the room is unbearably stuffy and that we cant stay here. Greetings from apparently the worst room in the hotel. Avoid this hotel during April or ask for a room that is not facing the sun at noon.…
We are visiting the hotel from the opening. The time can now be seen on the hotel. However, with children it is still the best hotel in Istria. Guests are expected to wear a mask in the community area, but no mask is provided at the restaurant or at the check-in. On the other hand, there are no plastic gloves in the restaurant, so everyone grabs the serving utensils at the buffet table one after the other. Cleaning is also of varying quality. There are very precise cleaners and there are some who do not even empty the trash. The food is still delicious and varied. The bathroom fan in the room is terribly noisy. Also, the quality of guests has deteriorated quite a bit over the years. Many women in the restaurant breastfeed with exposed breasts at the table, but they do the same in the cafeteria as well. Of course, this is not the hotel's fault, but for guests who do not know etiquette. In the wellness the sauna is very pleasant, but the bathing water is very cold. The pool water is especially cold for children. In order for the hotel to maintain its previous standard, they have to grab themselves.…
Fourth time just this year. The best place for kids and adults ever. Great senery, amenities, kind stuff! Food exepcional perhaps one of the best full boards in Croatia. Sure will be back soon as possible for a great parental leisure and peace off calm thanks to Your staff.
Our 3 generation family group of 5, including a 2 year old, have recently returned from a great 10 night stay in the Amarin Hotel. This hotel is truly child centred in design and many thoughtful features serve to make a stay with a baby, toddler or older child a stress-free experience. Our first floor rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable with a fantastic view over the gardens to the sea. The large area of hotel grounds is planted with low level flowers, herbs and grasses which provide amazing scents. We loved the area of pebble beach and the sea, although very cold, is crystal clear. Late in the season the outdoor pools were also cold but their design and layout are fantastic and we appreciated the warm baby/toddler pool with fountains and cover for sun protection. The indoor pools are fantastic - the best we have experienced in any hotel. Food at all meals is of high quality and plentiful with a good variety of dishes. The main restaurant is a spacious and pleasant space. The staff were attentive and worked extremely hard. Activities available for children of all ages are great. While our 2 year old didn’t attend sessions with staff, he especially loved the imaginative play equipment in the grounds, hiring a trike, the children’s gym, the nets in Reception and the evening cartoons. Finally a word on location. The hotel is about 4km around the bay from the beautiful town of Rovinj. It is a pleasant path and road walk, taking about 45 minutes. But the shuttle bus and water taxi service are also frequent and convenient, so trips further afield are possible using these facilities and then public transport from Rovinj. We realise our visit was end of season, in school term time and that fewer people are travelling due to Covid restrictions. So we had the benefit of a relatively uncrowded hotel with mainly babies and toddlers rather than older children racing around! Thank you for a memorable stay enjoyed by all.…
Watch out: 90% of Covid Measures advertised on their website are NOT being followed We found the previous occupants‘ socks in the wardrobe, food leftovers in the drawers, the room service found other people‘s things like toys, hair ties etc. mid-stay, the shower was not cleaned of obvious dirt smears, the toilet had brown stains - and reception was not at all interested. That said: The beautifully landscaped gardens are amazing. All kinds of playgrounds you can think of and imaginative educational path. pool chilly Buffet variety - BUT 2 people in our family got food poisoning
Stayed here for 2 weeks with daughter, son in law and their 2 boys aged 12 and 9. Definitely not a hotel for people without children because the place was full of them, mainly quite young. Lovely extensive grounds leading down to the pebble beach where the water was really clear. Plenty of sun loungers around the grounds, on the beach (free for hotel guests) and around the pool areas. Pool/beach towels could be changed daily, no charge. Room was very clean, cleaners worked hard. Safe was free. Air con was really good. Lovely view from balcony across towards the sea. Tables in restaurant well spaced. Masks had to be worn there and around the hotel. Excellent choice of food at all meal times, replenished as needed and well presented. The fruits and salads were delicious and we loved the roast joints of meat and great fish too. Selection could not be faulted. Unusually for Europe, the desserts were as delicious as they looked. We were disappointed that our favourite drink of Bacardi was not served in the hotel bar or the hotel bars on the beach, but enjoyed the cocktails. Staff in hotel bar were very good - friendly and quick to serve, especially Romario. Unfortunately there was very limited evening entertainment provided for adults, just occasional music acts at one of the beach bars. Also, limited entertainment for older children. Disappointed too at lack of games and activities in the pools. We did all enjoy the film show on the beach one night, and free popcorn went down well. Very little in the vicinity of hotel and too far to walk into Rovinj. However the hotel provided a free shuttle bus into the town- though on one occasion we waited in vain for a bus back to the hotel and ended up getting a taxi. Water taxis were also available nearby at small charge.…
Overall this hotel is amazing if you have kids - that’s the bottom line. Literally everything is for them and they have thought of small little things everywhere. You will not be disappointed on that front. Our little one was just under 2 when we went and he loved the indoor warm pool with the slide and outdoor slides too (quite nippy so can’t stay in too long) and all the play equipment around the place (slides etc) the beach is pebbly so some jelly shoes are a must and a little padded beach mat thing for them to sit and play on. Food selection is really good and laid out very well, very good quality kids high chairs etc. Rooms - we had a standard family room which is small, I would not recommend if you had to have 2 cots in there but for one it’s absolutely fine and enough to move around. Lots of storage so you can chuck things away. We actually asked to upgrade (at cost) but the hotel was fully booked and it actually was as you can see by the balconies, shows how popular this place is. One thing that is lacking is somewhere for the adults at night time as there is just one small bar by reception and then the other place you can go is right by the sea but it’s more for food not night time drinks with some music etc. it is in the middle of no where so you can’t walk into Rovinij but there is a boat taxi from the pier or reception will order you a normal taxi. Unfortunately two downsides were that we had left my toddlers cutlery at breakfast and it was thrown away so that was a shame and, on the last day we got very violently ill and hotel confirmed there was a norovirus outbreak. It’s not their fault as comes with territory of kids hotel and they do clean very well but still but a big downer on last day so just be careful and wash everything! We will definitely come back from our toddler is 4 plus as then there is even more activities for them to enjoy.…
We were searching for a Family Hotel in Croatia meeting our travel standards, be super child friendly and not too far away for car travel ( the distance was 900 km from home which was just right ) Check more video material on my YouTube channel @tominkoj1 Hotel drone shots and walkaround on my Youtube channel @tominkoj1 We were travelling as family with a 3 year old son, booked through booking.com in pre-season and travel end of june Main plus : -new hotel ( not very common in Croatia ) -possibility for early check in and late check out ( based on agreement and room availability ) -hotel is a family, child hotel ( not a child friendly hotel ) -the big hotel surrounding ensures good and quite atmosphere, which parents will small children will like -no stairs ensured proper safety for children -newly build beach with a stunning view for old city Rovinj -daily taxi boat like a city hopper -amusement possibilities for children big and small inside and also on hotel grounds -just great shallow beach also for smaller kids but options also to stay in the pool area We booked the hotel already in March due to good pricing and time & date availability. We used the option or early check in which was great as we arrived already at 10AM. The reception was very helpful and we had the room already within 15 minutes. In price included there is a guarded parking spot available ( you just need to find the right spot under the trees , but parking was not a problem overall ) The hotel is using a clock , no money system where the final budget will be calculating at departure , or guests can pay cash in the bars and beach restaurants. Accommodation : Our room was located on the 3rd floor with a sea and garden view and also pool . The location was just right ,quite in the evening . The room was super quiet ( thanks to great glassing and isolation ) with a full glass balcony making the view even more cool. The only discomfort ( connected with current covid restrictions ) was the use of lift per 1 family or 2 person only, therefore the lifts were always busy.Room was clean and cleaned on daily basis , nothing to complain here. Watch was used for electricity ( common in new hotels ) but the thing was that stuff didn’t let you to restaurant without the watch. So mostly no cooling down of the room before sleep or during the day. The minibar and small snacks were charged , which is a bit of shame by this hotel price category and honestly you can not avoid the kids eating those candies :) Dining : Breakfast : Nothing to complain, always plenty of food and selection for everyone, 30 kunas for orange juice is a bit of shame Lunch : Nothing to complain, great selection for everyone Dinner : Nothing to complain, great selection for everyone Overall comment Is more to management to increase the outside possibilities. I think the majority of the people want to eat outside. I saw some funny conflicts there people arguing about available seats and tables. Also the stuff is slow after guests leave to prepare the table for new ones. Few times I had to to this by myself Beach bar : Great place, super drinks selection ( not included in price but European price average ) super friendly stuff and great ( like really ) food. The beach is new , sunbeds and shades are free of charge for hotel guests The Hotel is as well offering sport amusement on ground , staff is super friendly recommend paddleboards and bike rentals ( bikes unfortunately to return until 7pm which is bit sad , but the taxi boat saves the day , from hotel to center is more than 5km ) To summarize : Hotel is a total yes, for everyone with kids, searching for a luxury family kids driven hotel. Early checking, late checkout are the keys to have the good comfort and less stress. Staff can sometimes deal with less stress and watch more to make the vacation more enjoyful Bonus : Our Son had Bday during our stay in the Hotel. The Animation staff came to the room with a small present and a Bday cake proactively which was super cute. Such small things are the trigger to return back also next year.…
