The setting is absolutely stunning with great views from the rooms. Some days we spent on the beach 🏖 other days lounging around the pool. The Guys & Girls running the Pool Bar are great! very friendly, very helpful, the Hotel pool is superb.
Considering we were there during the Covid situation, the Staff were absolutely brilliant and very, very helpful, special call out to a young man Oliver, who was very helpful every morning at Breakfast, which is superb, you order hot food and coffee, which doesn't take long.
The Hotel is situated in such a stunning location, the only downside is the fact the balconies are all open on one side to other balconies, one guy on the balcony opposite and above surprised my Wife when he came out in his birthday suit probably his first morning had a bit of a stretch and then went running back inside 😂 I found it funny at least! we will definitely return but we really hope they erect some simple screens to close each balcony so people can sit and relax in private each evening and enjoy the stunning sunsets in peace. The only other downside considering it is 5 Star is no means of making your own coffee, no small kettles and coffee equipment which we found odd and extremely disappointing, these are small downsides so please don't let them put you off, just saying it as it is. On a whole you will not be disappointed it is a great Hotel with lots of amenities and very helpful, friendly Staff.
The Bar is stunning, it has an Old Fashioned Ernest Hemingway feel to it, the two female bar staff on the evenings are super friendly and helpful, very nice and suggested some great Gins to us...
Monte Mulini has the best access to a sea view and the beach out of all the hotels in the close vicinity so probably the best Hotel for Families who don't want to walk too far burdened down with children and bags.
Thank You Monet Mulini, a Great Experience, we will be back next year if you sort the balcony privacy out (simple screen same as the one side already there will suffice) and PLEASE put coffee making equipment in the rooms it's a MUST 😉

We spent two weeks here as a family in this wonderful hotel. Everyone we interacted with from the lobby team, wait staff, the pool team and housekeeping were super friendly and made every effort to ensure our stay was as personal, enjoyable, relaxing and pampered as possible. Thank you to Davor and Simret (restaurant) and Aleksandra (concierge) for helping make our stay more entertaining!
Breakfast was great, with a vast buffet selection and whilst there were set cooked options, you could mix and match whatever you liked. I settled on a stack of pancakes with maple syrup, cheese omelette and crispy bacon with freshly squeezed juice of your choosing. Omnomnom!
We stayed in interconnecting superking + twin rooms which were very spacious with large his/her bathrooms. Everything was very clean and tidy and housekeeping kept us topped up with everything twice a day. Our chill-out days were usually around the pool area which was more peaceful than the bustling beach below.
We enjoyed that things like (non-e) bike rental were included for the Mulini, and that we could charge things from the other Maistra hotels (eg food and drinks at the Grand Park or Adriatic) to our room.
The old part of Rovinj was a pleasant and gentle 25 mins walk along the sea front with lovely walks through the forest in the other direction.

Just got back from a 7 night stay and WOW what a wonderful Hotel. The location is great, its an easy 15 minute stroll along the beautiful "flat" coastal path into the Old Town. The Old Town is hilly with lots of quaint cobbled streets a few roads back from the harbour to explore. It has plenty of great restaurants, we found Sante Croce and Fondiaria to be particularly good. The Hotel has free bikes to borrow you can have them for as long as you like, we cycled through the wooded nature park to the left of the Hotel and beyond the Old town to the right. Breakfast in the Hotel is served until 12, it includes a very extensive cold buffet plus hot cooked food to order, theres ample choice. The bedrooms all face the bay, they are a good size and have huge bathrooms, with Molton Brown toiletories. The only downside for the rooms is they could do with a set of drawers for clothes storage. Theres a kettle with a varierty of different tea bags and they will give you milk from the restaurant. It is spotlessly clean with very professional friendly staff. In addition to the Hotels spa you also have free use of large gym, sauna and spa area which is located in the Hotel next door and can be accessed via a linked corridor from the Monte Mulini. I had a wonderful massage in the Spa at the Monte Mulini. Very impressive lobby and bar area, with beautiful terrace to have a drink and watch the sunset from. Wine and olive oil tasting in the Wine Vault was great. We also had a lovely surprise from the Hotel to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Thank you Monte Mulini for making our stay so special, we hope to visit you again sometime soon.

Monte Mulini exceeded my expectations that we extended our stay. From the beautiful hotel grounds and beach, exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms to all the amazing people that work there. From the moment we entered the hotel we were welcomed by portir Toni who with his professionalism and pleasant personality already made us feel so welcomed. His detailed explanation of our amenities and what we can expect from our stay was like a mini welcome tour that it made us extend another night as soon as we changed for dinner. Thank you Toni for such an amazing welcome your professionalism won't be forgotten! The twin sisters Ines & Nives kept our room spotless and impeccable which I couldn't say for many other hotels we stayed in throughout our trips. So thank you for making us feel comfortable! From all the wonderful people that work in the restaurant that made our breakfasts enjoyable to the people that work at the towel and bar services. Two other guys which we talked to the most were Damir & Aleksandar from the beach bar. They made our lounging on the beach and days very enjoyable with their professionalism and great energy. They kept our drinks coming and their professionalism at all times. Hotel Monte Mulini is truly a beautiful hotel and worth every dollar. If you expect good value and a high standard food, experience and professionalism from high end hotels you should definitely stay at Hotel Monte Mulini. I will recommend and will definitely come back again. Thank you to everyone for the beautiful experience we had during our stay.

Back in Rovinj again. This time a week at the Hotel Monte Mulini. Arrived Saturday May 7th for a weeks stay. An executive room on the 1st floor (the hotel is all upside down (like the Grand Park around the corner) reception is on the top with the rooms underneath). We overlooked the pools and the beautiful Mulini Bay.
We stayed bed and breakfast. Breakfast was exceptional. Omlettes made to order in the kitchen (no standing around waiting for the chef to notice you) as well as steak, french toast, eggs benedict, eggs royale... I could go on. Fresh fruit juice everyday. Sparkling wine for those that want it. Cold meats, cheese, honeycomb, preserves, pastries... All exceptional.
We ate in one of the restaurants (there are two) on Sunday night. Amazing. The chocolate lava cake is very special and was served to us in the bar (at our request) along with irish coffees.
Room was lovely. Light, airy and comfortable. TV accepts "chromecasts" from mobile devices so Netflix was easily accessed from my phone.
Bathrooms had a deep bath, rainfall shower and Molton Brown toiletries... Excellent.
Above all the Maestra staff were, as ever, friendly, efficient and delightful. Nothing was too much trouble from the perfect coffee at breakfast time to gins and tonics at sundown (Croatia have discovered gin so its afforable now) and even parking my hire-car (a tiny skoda I'm afraid - there were lots of very nice sports cars parked outside most days).
As ever with Maestra hotels absolutely recommended. 5 stars!

We’ve just returned from a week at this lovely hotel. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make our stay great. There were a couple of large groups who reserved their sun beds really early, leaving books, water bottles on up to 6 pairs of beds. They then didn’t reappear all day…we saw one of the groups doing the same by Mulini Beach bar but not giving up the ones they’d reserved by the pool! On our final day, the staff clamped down on this, enforcing the opening times of 0900….a shame if you wanted to have a pre breakfast swim, or wanted to get some early sun….but overall, really good to see, even if it happened after the big groups had gone - I’d have liked to see the, challenged!
This really didn’t detract from the amazing experience as there were plenty of sun bathing spots and everything was spotlessly clean. The hotel room was luxurious with a great view (we were room 104) and an endless supply of Milton Brown toiletries and clean towels.
Breakfast was fantastic….some set egg options, but they would cook whatever you asked. Also, it wasn’t advertised but they did freshly squeezed juices…we had carrot, apple and ginger, and we saw others having freshly squeezed orange. The coffee was fantastic and the continental selection amazing.
If you’re looking for a walking tour, worth mentioning that the Rovinj Tourist Office does a free one at 10am each Tuesday - complete with wine and olive oil tasting!

This is a world class hotel with world class facilitates, however when it goes past 600 euros per night you might want to look elsewhere. Also in the mid to low season prices start to mirror nearby Grand Park. When this happens I would defer to GP 100 percent of the time.
As has been noted in other reviews the rooms are spacious and modern but could use a slight refresh. Compared with other hotels in a similar high season price bracket some of the furnishings are quite dated.
My one tip would be to try to get a group floor room as you can literally walk to the beach. The grounds around the hotel are immaculate.
Wine vault restaurant is suburb offering great value for money and an exceptional selection of regional wines.
Rovinj is without question one of the most magical destinations in Croatia.
Having guaranteed access to Mulini beach is a huge plus of staying at this hotel.

There is no doubt that Monte Mulini is a very good hotel with well trained, helpful staff in a beautiful setting a short walk to the restaurants and shops of Rovinj.
The room had great view of the bay (2nd floor is best for views as you can see over the tree line). The wifi was quick and reliable and the breakfast buffet was good quality and had extensive choices.
Although the "beach" is a small strip of pebbles, there is still a lovely vibe around it.
So why did I hesitate before giving it 5 stars - a few reasons:-
1. There are not enough beds at the beach club. By 9am all the beds had gone.
2. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
3. It was not easy to get a table on the terrace at breakfast as it is too small to deal with the demand.
The hotel was completely full and it showed.

Hotel has rooms with 2 twin beds and can offer them per availability.
Expensive but the drinks are outstanding, esp if you like gin as they have a gin bar. But Old Fashioneds and Manhattans good too. Room service is 24/7 and what we had was outstanding. Compared to US/UK, wine prices are great if you stick to Croatian wine, which we did and enjoyed. We only had room service and breakfast, both outstanding. Went out for dinner in the town center.
The hotel a la carte restaurant used to be one of the very best gourmet places in Croatia, try it. Less than half an hour romantic walk uphill torards the cathedral you will find Monte, one of the four Michelin starred restaurants in Croatia. On your way there, a place with a magnificent view over the bay and the nearby island, La Puntulina. Just lightly lower level of cuisine, just slightly lower prices.
Yes , when we were there 11 - 18 th May the workers were just working on the last 20 - 30 yards but you can easily get through .
