Hotel's Favorite
Stayed here on a trip through Croatia in September. Very nice resort location with a 15 - 20 min easy walk into Rovinj. Good place to stay if you want a beach resort which is not too far from the center of town. Very attractive remodeled rooms Pros: - The Eden is one of several Maistra resorts in the Rovinj area and was the best value at the time we booked. - The facility was beautiful, very modern, attractive rooms which appear to have been recently remodeled. - Beds were comfortable and the A/C worked well - Breakfast buffet had many options. This hotel was very careful in terms of COVID restrictions , instructions were clear and the staff was happy to serve what ever you pointed to at each of the stations. Their English was impeccable! - nice pools and a beach for guests. - Free parking is available - Very professional staff and close attention to following COVID guidelines. Cons: - Most of the parking for the Eden is a bit of a walk although we were able to snag one of the few places in front of the hotel - Little distance from the center of town Would definitely stay here again on a future visit to Rovinj

This wasn't our 1st choice of hotel as it was very much a last minute booking, and hardly anything was available. Overall we liked the hotel and we were pleased with our choice. The room was fine with plenty of storage, and a nice bathroom with a large shower. Very private balcony, which overlooked the front of the hotel and car parks, but we weren't particularly bothered about the view. Breakfast was fine, and I liked the coffee from the machines, despite negative comments from other reviewers. However, we were half board and found the evening meals disappointing. They were very repetitive, and I found the food to be quite bland. Also, the desserts were pretty much the same every night , and not very exciting. It was also usually very busy at dinner and we found some of the other guests weren't the politest when it came to queuing, but that's not the hotels fault. The saving grace was the Oleander restaurant in the hotel grounds where we ate out a couple of evenings and a few lunches. The only thing that was disappointing was that at the start of our second week we wanted to make a dinner reservation, but were told that they weren't open for dinner any more because the main hotel restaurant was short staffed and they had to help out there. On top of that they even closed for lunch during our 2nd week as well. Not good!! Needless to say we went out quite a lot into Rovinj to eat out. We never had a problem finding a sun bed but I guess it depends what time of the season you go. I can imagine the pool can also get busy but it was OK when we went (arrived 07 Sept for 2 weeks). I did find the piped music a bit too loud to be honest, especially if you just want to read. There is also the issue of non guests taking advantage of the facilities, but there's no way to stop that really as anyone can walk around the grounds. There is a sign saying only hotel guests can use the facilities but on one occasion a dad brought his 3 very noisy kids to use the pool and it was obvious they weren't guests, but there's no way to stop it really. Thankfully I don't think it's a regular occurrence. Nice walk into Rovinj, and we loved it there. Such a beautiful place. Would definitely recommend it if you love somewhere with plenty of character and gorgeous sunsets. It was still quite busy when we went, but UK tourists were thin on the ground, no doubt because to travel to Croatia we needed to provide a negative covid test beforehand, then (at the time we went) another one before being allowed to travel back home. I'd say about 5% British at the time we went. Such a palaver but still worth it to get away abroad after more than 2 years. We found all the hotel staff to be very nice and helpful. Clean and tidy hotel, most people stuck to covid restrictions by wearing masks when required to do so. Not much else to say really. Overall nice place, in good location, but would probably try another hotel if we ever returned to this area, mostly because of the evening meals.

The hotel's location is stunning. The garden and pools are beautiful and the town of Rovinj is magical. The interior design wouldn't be out of place in Stockholm but is thoroughly unsympathetic to an Italianate feeling area and climate. Lots and lots of beige and white. The food is school dinner level and really worrying in a pandemic that a self service buffet should still be operating without gloves. Staff should be managing the food service. The restaurant is severely understaffed and would have made some drinks money off us if we had ever been offered any. When we tested positive for Covid on our penultimate day, the staff, especially Marina, Ariana, Bojan and the wonderful TUI Rep Marta could not have been more caring and helpful. In retrospect it was not a great decision to leave our home country. Please think about the prospect of paying to be isolating in a room for 10 days at the mercy of food you might not like and a lot of German TV. I will for sure visit Croatia again but would stay somewhere more authentic.

Looks a bit dreary from the outside but completely different inside, modern and bright. Rooms very good; modern, clean and spacious. Window between bathroom and bedroom, although frosted, is a pain during the night if somebody goes to the toilet as it lights the whole bedroom up. Food at breakfast OK but in the evening very good. We had fresh langostines, jumbo prawns, fresh mussels in their shell, lamb cutlets, pork ribs and a top class lasagne. Loads of choice. Drinks a bit expensive, but it's a 4 star hotel so to be expected. Cater mainly for the Germans but as they make up the majority of their guests it's to be expected. Good hotel would definitely recommend. Only a 15 minute walk to the old town via the inland route, 10 minutes longer via the coastal path.
