Detailed Reviews
At last were allowed to travel freely. We had this tour rearranged 3 times.
The journey by express coach is very long but our drivers Rachael and Antony were excellent. There are plenty of breaks along the way and a fresh cuppa is available on the coach. Our first day was in the resort so we had time to recover from the long journey which was great.
Hotel was very good, large room with balcony and sea view, food was buffet style and was plentiful and varied, but don't expect full english breakfast and fish & chips. The included drinks were self service from the summer pool bar, which was open 10:00am to 10:00pm, there was another bar with entertainment but you had to pay for the drinks. which was not an issue to us as we ventured to the bar around 9:30pm.
All the staff were friendly and polite, we did notice that the hotel was hiring new staff every day as they have only just reopened after covid
Excursions around Istria were great and Rachael and Antony kept us informed about the places we went.
Overall a great first tour with the new Shearings/Leger company.
Thanks to all concerned.

We stayed with our family for 5 days. I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel and everything, and we will definitely come back.
good things:
The restaurant has very good food, quite a few choices too.
The employees are really friendly.
Sunbeds are free
some things that bothered me:
there is no supervision at the pools, people also have an inflatable boat at the pool, balls fly everywhere, you have to be careful because they are jumping on head.
Parking is hard to get

We stayed in the Hotel Hedera for a week in July.
The hotel is one of 3 hotels in a block at the end of the bay. The hotels themselves are quite ugly to look at and our hearts sank when we first saw them (with our rep describing the hotels as an "eye sore!" as the coach pulled in), but the views from the hotel are beautiful and Rabac itself is a pretty town on a beautiful bay.
The rooms were clean and functional, but the concrete balconies were not particularly pleaseant to sit out on and were all overlooked from the balconies above! The staff were generally very polite and helpful.
We went on a half board basis and the evening buffet was limited and very similar to some school dinners I've had! If you go too late in the evening, the choice of food is even more limited. However, you could get vouchers for the Grill Bar on the beach which took a few pounds of your meal down there. The food at the Grill Bar was much nicer and the service ws generaly good.
Basically, Rabac is a pretty town to spend a week and do a few excursions. The Hotel Hedera is basic but perfectly reasonable. The only thing I would say is you should go sooner rather than later if you do intend to visit Rabac or surrounding towns as I doubt it will be much longer until the town is much more commercialised - the fake t-shirts and shell jewellery are already on sale in nearly every street stall!

What a pleasant surprise!
Two guys at the gate, the staff at the reception desk, the maid who rearranged beds in our room. Everything ran smoothly.
Excellent food - half board, tons of roses in the garden and arround the pools. Spotlesly clean.
Beach restaurant, the beach itself, sun beds, ...
One of the most pleasant short stays in Croatia in general.
Thank you, see you in October!

Big concrete blocks - an eyesore, yes. Functional bedrooms though but only BBC World on TV. The big problem is that managment would not turn on the central heating despite loads of complaints from guests. The date is predetermined no matter how cold or damp it gets. Page and Moy reps had no success either. Good clean swimming pools. Basic type food, plenty of it but could get boring after 7 days. The village is attractive and the coast walks good..

The hotel is one of 3 hotels in a block at the end of the bay. The hotels themselves are quite ugly to look at.
The hotel is mostly a 2/3 days stopover for tours in croatia, so service is quite decrepit. We went on a half board basis, breakfast was basic and the evening buffet was limited, poor and bad quality. Starters and salads are in selfservice, main courses are served by staff.
We booked a backside view room because the hotel was packed with people and the only free rooms were in the backside. It was awful, there is a road just behind the hotel, cars go past all the time, it was impossible to stay in the room. Luckyly we only staid for 2 nights. Only 6th and 7th floor have backside view rooms, sea view rooms are bigger and have concrete balconies on and overlooked from the balconies above.
Clean sweaming-pool, private area near the beach with deckchairs. Peable beache with sunshade and deckchairs fee.
Rabac is a pretty town to spend some days and do a few excursions. The village is attractive and the coast walks good.
I recommend visiting Pula, Rovinj, Lim fjord and the coast bewteen Rabac and Opatija (beatiful coastline with lonely coves in order to swim in crystal-clear water).
