Great self catering place. Ideal for families and couples. Very hilly and loads of stairs so beware if you are a bit unfit or have mobility issues. Restaurant on site is great and the pool is big, clean and perfectly positioned with plenty of sunbeds and brollies. Nice walk into Porec. No kettle or toaster which was a bit disappointing. Bed was lovely and comfy and room was clean, if a bit dated. It was my second visit but have decided my last as the stairs and hills nearly killed me.
I have just returned from a week at these apartments. As per the previous review English are in the minority both in the Plava Laguna complex and Porec as a whole. However, this was not an issue and everyone was friendly and welcoming. We had a one bed apartment which was clean and spacious, the only downfall would be that the apartment was not cleaned throughout the duration of the stay. This is odd as the bins are emptied daily so I'm unsure why the floors etc can't be mopped at the same time. Porec is around a 30 minute walk, if you go down the steps (there are quite a few) and turn right you can follow the coastal path throught the Valamar resort and into Porec, we did detour on one occasion however there wasn't a pavement at particular points and therefore we felt it safer to follow the path. There is a train that stops outside the mini Market at the bottom of the steps this operates around every 35 minutes and costs only 20 kuna but does get full at times. The pool on the complex was really nice and clean with adequate lounges, it was probably missing a little bit of music for atmosphere. There was security on the complex who would regularly patrol which made us feel really safe. Overall would recommend and would return.…
I decided to write a review as prior to going I was puzzled why there were hardly any recent ones. That I believe is simply to do with the fact that English tourists are definitely in the minority. It is mainly, German, Slovenian and various others. This did not impact negatively on our holiday at all. All reception and entertainment staff can speak English. We arrived around lunchtime and were not able to check in until around 2.30pm so retrieved shorts from our case and got changed in the toilets and went for food and a cold beer to pass time. Prepare a quick change easily accessible if you arrive early. All facilities are immaculately clean. Accommodation review will not apply to many as we were located in Villa Antonia which is the central yellow building highlighted in many of the pictures. I believe there are only 3 apartments in the villa. In keeping with the look and authenticity of the villa these are furnished in an old but beautiful style. Carpeted, large wooden wardrobes, sitting room kitchen and the most magnificent grand balcony. I imagine other apartments will be modern. We had aircon. Kitchen was very small but fine for light snacks. Noticeable observations; it would be nice to have a few more hangers and a couple of trouser ones; We never saw our maid but our bins were emptied regularly and we were supplied with more towels than we could use. The towels were placed on our sofa along with bedding and realised that the maid doesn't clean the room or change the bed during your stay but you can change it yourself. I like to keep things tidy wherever I go so it was fine and not intrusive; This is only applicable to Villa Antonia, it has the most spectacular and huge balcony to the rear, amazing views, it's stunning BUT this balcony is shared with the apartment next door. We were fortunate to have two lots of good neighbours although we rarely crossed paths and could communicate. The day before we left a family we could not communicate with arrived and one morning I was about to go on the balcony when I noticed our neighbour doing her yoga so I preferred to give her space as would have felt intrusive. The balcony is so big it could easily have a sympathetic divider, some tall potted plants or trellis. The entire area is beautiful, clean and lovely. Yes, there are steps, find the more direct route to Porec instead of the coastal route if you are walking it cuts a good 10-15 mins off. Several restaurants within easy walking distance, loads in Porec which is wonderful. It is an early closing area, no late night drinking parties. We had an evening in Porec and arrived back around midnight and the bar and everywhere is closed up. If you want late nights just go to the town. There is security you feel very safe. No rush for sunbeds and plentiful. I would definitely recommend this property if you enjoy having a walk or bike ride. You enjoy a few drinks and food it's perfect.…
On arrival we had a problem with our room but we were placed in a good alternative until ours was ready and offered free dinner and breakfast. The staff were friendly and efficient. Rooms were clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The pool and toilets were clean. There are housemartins nesting in the building near the pool so you can sit and watch them. Also swallows and swifts can be seen flying over. The whole resort is clean and tidy. Close to the beautiful beach along with bars and restaurants. It's a fair walk, about a mile, to the old town but there is a tourist train and boat taxi at reasonable prices or places to stop for a drink along the way. We would go back again and would reccomend.
We’ve been there 2 weeks in the middle of August. The location is absolute beauty with the great pine trees, different flowers and figs. The outstanding see views are the great attraction of this place. Please, note that the beach is public so be ready to rest in crowd, but we were always able to find tiny place. The sun beds are for separate payment. Most of the restaurants on the territory do NOT accept cards but there are cash machine in the nearby. The rooms are well equipped, you will have everything you need for the cooking in the kitchen - the cooker, coffee machine, microwave, all the minimum cooking equipment which is quite comfortable. The really pain of this beautiful place in service. As was described in the reception the garbage is to be taken out and the towels to be changed by the maid every day. Nevertheless be ready to live with full garbage several days and use one towel for the whole family. Complaining can change the situation but for a really short period. The dry cleaning equipment is not available even despite the request to reception. All in all this is good quiet family place.…
Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 2 week holiday in Croatia. The accommodation is fairly basic and a bit cramped but the location more than makes up for this. 2 minutes from the sea. No oven just a job and microwave. All very clean. Would stay again.
We stayed for a week in a studio which was better than expected. There was a king size bed and nice bathroom on a raised area which led down a few steps to the kitchen area and outside patio. It would have been nice to have a toaster but otherwise adequate. There were nice gardens and a large pool which said heated but rather cold in the morning when we were there. It took about 30 minutes to walk to Porec Old Town but a pleasant pathway along the sea or you can get the tourist train.
On walking in to the apartment there was a well equipped kitchen with a halogen hob and plenty of pots and pans (No toaster or kettle). Bathroom with bath, toilet, basin and shower over bath to the left. Lounge area with sofa, coffee table and dining table with a door leading to a terrace with views of the lagoon. On opening the door off this room down two steps was the bedroom with plenty of storage (Pillows not the best) another bathroom and a door leading to another terrace. The rooms were very clean. The bins were emptied daily and clean towels left if needed. They do not make your beds, whilst we were there for a week we got clean bedding left for us to make up ourselves. The whole of the complex is spotless with a shop, pool and pool bar serving coffee, beer, snacks or meals. This complex is not for people with reduced mobility as there alot of steps. The walk into Porec is 1 mile, once down the steps it is a pleasant walk along the coastal path which is paved and flat. There is a train which you can catch (does not stop at the complex) which charges betwen 10-20 Kuna depending on which stop you catch it from.…
Great living space - ground floor apartment had patio doors on to a decking area with table and chairs (outside in shelter) - then garden furniture under the sail for shade - two sunbeds as well.... in the garden area, not much sun on the outside due to the lovely trees - mature trees and gardens all very well kept. Some of the apartments have sea view - some might have sun during day. Upstairs had a balcony area only... I stayed in an apartment like the picture - two beds and two bathrooms - one bedroom has en-suite and then there is another bathroom outside the second bedroom - so if anyone is sleeping on the sofa, they could use it too..... smallish sofa. Bathrooms very clean - very small but adequate, brilliant water pressure and floor mats in shower, plus an emergency cord in case of any accidents. Hairdryers in bathrooms - slow and warm - no good for long hair. A few cosmetic things noted - could have done with a re-run of the silicon around the shower and there was a crack in the cistern lid but nothing that caused any issues - lots of people would enjoy taking pictures of those things to point out but they really weren't a problem. NO GRILL - you get hob, microwave and fridge, can't make toast! Good range of cutlery, plates and dishes + utensils. Jug + Fruit bowl. Coffee machine. Mixing bowl - well kitted out. They provide tea-towels, washing up liquid and sponge, loo rolls, shampoo and conditioner. To boil water its pan on stove - no kettle. Pool area - nice and clean, few cracks in some tiles but nothing bad. Childrens pool is just above knee height deep on an adult, so 60-70cm. Cold to get in but lovely once in. You have to walk through a foot bath to get into the pool area - that keeps things clean. Umbrella to each two sunbeds. Reception very helpful and they have golf carts to assist with luggage. They do also take anyone with walking difficulties to and from places on the resort when asked. Call from the apartment phone or the two hotel receptions. You can use Hotel Mediterani or Hotel Galijot facilities whilst on resort. You can pay half-board supplements and use the buffet Dinner and breakfast if you like... Saw Table Tennis, bikes for hire, tennis courts, jet ski's, boat hire .... plenty to do. Beach areas are rocky. There are bathing areas and platforms and showers to wash down with. Would recommend water shoes but you can manage without. Costs - site supermarkets were very reasonable in comparison to the big Spar in Porec - they dont seem to have much fruit and veg though. Good bread in the mornings. Restaurants - quite surprised - expected those around the resort to be pricey but they really were not!! Antonio - adjoins the pool for the Bellevue Apartments - excellent value for money - very helpful staff and chefs - very decent portion sizes and very fairly priced. Restaurant and Grill Alan - Great. Good food, good portion sizes, friendly and helpful staff and again - very fairly priced. Lovely sea/harbour view (limited due to trees) Restaurant by the sea and next to Hotel Galijot (dont remember name) Slightly more expensive than the two above for soft drinks. Food Good - reasonably priced and this place comes with a brilliant view of the sunset. Generally - coca cola and water are quite expensive. Coke is slightly more expensive than UK bar prices and I think it cost £3 for a 1 litre of water.... Beer and wine is cheaper than UK but the wine tasted was not great. Train - there is a small train/trolley that runs to Porec every half hour.... then back up to about 10.30pm. 20 kuna adult one way Ferry - there is a ferry going to and from Porec all day - 30 Kuna one way, 40 return. Taxi's - order yourself from a number you find - 50 kuna. When asking at reception - the taxi's they used were 80 kuna. BE AWARE - the resort is on a good slope and the accommodation is down hill from reception - there are a lot of steps on this site, or you can walk around the small roads. In some places there were so many steps there were regular sitting walls.... all sorts of people were managing the steps - some very slowly!! Reception are happy to transport anyone with walking issues..... golf cart!!…
just returned from the Bellevue apartments and would like to say what a lovely stay it was. Just the two of us in a self catering studio with everything we needed, clean towels every day, pool towels available on request, lovely restaurant and bar staff who did their very best to look after you, food good and reasonably priced. Clean apartment and swimming pool, (all one depth, great for me, not a strong swimmer) also pretty surrounding areas. Reception staff very helpful 24 hours a day reported a light out which was fixed the next day, requested extra pillows and received them the same day. Occasional problem with noisy dogs, the owners fault not the hotels. would definitely go again and recommend it to friends.
