Detailed Reviews
Having driven for almost 4 days from England to Croatia we were excited to finally arrive at our destination. However, once we had checked in and arrived at our designated pitches we were dismayed that both pitches were in the full glaring sun (absolutely no shade). Additionally, one of the pitches which was for a tent was like a gravelly car park and in no way suitable to pitch a tent.
After a trip back to reception, the staff were really understanding and were able to accommodate a move to 2 shaded pitches which were perfectly situated close to the toilet & shower block.
The amenities for kids (we had 3 teenagers travelling with us) were great and the choice of supermarkets and restaurants/bars was fantastic. The staff at Belvedere were fantastic!
Overall the site was too large for us and very noisy (despite the 12am - 7am quiet time). Croatia was beautiful but I wouldn't come back to Lanterna.

So, this place is huge: like massive, although even though we went in peak season I would say there was only one day when it felt really busy. The pool is not great for teenagers so we spent all the time at the many beaches, which were beautiful. We hired bikes, which I would recommend and this meant we could also leave the campsite in the evening. The campsite is very expensive for everything - apart from the free exercise activities. We all really loved our time there, but I would probably book directly with Valamar rather than through eurovamp who we booked with. Valamar guests got discounts on sun beds and everything so I would Defo do that. Their accommodation was also loads better than the euro camp homes too.

Just returned from the campsite. We stayed for two weeks in august. The campsite is very clean even around the pools, sea and toilet blocks. Staff work around the clock. We tried both pools but found the water park too busy so only used to go up to use the slides for an hour or two and then return to the pool near the beach. Yes you have to pay for the sun beads but these are reasonable priced and are charged daily. Alternatively you can take your own chairs into the pool areas. It was one of our groups Birthday whilst there and the campsite delivered a bottle of wine to the pitch. Thank you was very much appreciated.
We did find that prices on the campsite where more expensive than out in local towns.
The only negative we had as a family was check in we had booked a larger pitch due to the size or our caravan but upon arrival these pitches was not big enough and had manholes in the middle of the pitch. The pitch offered was long and thin which wouldn’t fit our caravan and awning. we had to take a trip back to the reception with car and caravan to be offered another pitch again this wasn’t big enough. This issue went on for over an hour with numerous trips backwards and forwards to reception with car and caravan which can be challenging getting up and down some tight spaces. Surly there could be staff on hand to support in finding a pitch who can radio and liaise with reception o n which pitches are free.Eventually we found a pitch suitable but after a two day drive the last thing we wanted was an extra hour looking for pitches. The checking process was quite stressful.

We paid about 10 € per day for the dog. For such an amount of money, I expect something. However, the two beaches for a dog are awfully small, no shadow. On the whole camping site there are only two places where you can get dog fouling bags and we had to walk for over 1km to get to the dog showers. I don't know what we paid the money for!!!

Lanterna premium camping
Overcrowded, way to expensive , poor control of booking if any at all
We booked in may, we told them we ware 9 m long and asked if they had a pitch where there was enough space for our camper, NO PROBLEM they told us. We have big pitches.
When we arrived, there was NO pitches for us, even though we booked in may.
After over 1 hour they found a pitch for us, we tried to find it, that’s was very difficult, asked several employees, but no help there ,..
Finely after a driving back and forward with a 9 m long camper , and no please to turn , we found it.
The pitch was up hill and it was quit difficult to get the camper there.
Located by the supermarket , lot of noice, kids peeing in the bushes , kids playing loud music.
The power went 20 minutes after we arrived. And came back after 5-6 hours after.
The wi-fi was gone for over 2 days, only the staffs wi-fi was working, and that one was locked.
The camping is so so Big, and over crowded, no place at the pool ore at the beach. Everything cost, the beach has lot of stones so it’s difficult to get in the water, the stones are so slippery that people and children slips and falls
The only beach that’s has sand, is so overcrowded, that you can’t find a place to sit. And if you do, and go in the water, your stuff is gone when you get back.
They are so fixated on money, that they give People pitches on parking lot ,the caravans is so close together, that if something happens, you can’t escape ore get out.
The supermarket has very small choices of fresh food (meat) we waited for 3 days , finely a bit came, but it was sold out very fast… as they want you to use the Restaurants instead of making your own food.
There is a constant driving with bicycles, scooters, etc. at a very high speed, so it is dangerous to have small children and dogs on the paths by the water
We had so looked forward to come back. But after being at Lanterna now, we won’t come back again.

Dear Lauritzen, We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with such detailed feedback about your stay. I am very sorry to hear that several things throughout your stay did not meet your expectations. All your comments are essential to educating our staff about good and bad service. We will ensure your feedback will be given to all. Please allow me to refer to your comment. Regarding wifi, there was a malfunction on an optic cable in the outer area of the campsite that affected the entire peninsula and the neighbouring areas. The issue was resolved on the same day. Our campsite is located in a very vibrant area with something for everyone, which is one of the reasons why guests like to spend their holidays at this location. We are sorry to hear your experience was not a pleasurable one. Warm regards, Danijela Zgrablić Camping Manager

We had the best time at Laterna Camping Resort. My husband and I travelled with our 4 year old daughter. The site is perfect for families including a kids club, playgrounds, multiple pools, shops, and easily accessible sandy and pebble beaches. Our daughter loved it and we did too.
The site is really well cared for and we loved the village feel with multiple restaurants, bars and cafes.
We stayed in a Eurocamp lodge which was immaculately clean and the reps were friendly and helpful.
We hired a car but barely used it as there was so much to see and do at the site, and there was a regular boat to Novigrad.
We highly recommend the daily boat to Novigrad which can be caught at the sandy beach and is reasonably priced (7 euros one way). It's a really pretty coastal town.
There are a few negative comments on here which we can't understand and some are misinformation e.g. that there are steep steps to the beach: this is incorrect, whilst one way of accessing the beach is via steps, the beach is also easily accessible via a gentle ramp which makes it great if taking pushchairs. The beach was beautifully clean and the sea was warm and clear.
We highly recommend holidaying at Laterna, we are booking to stay again next year!

It has been an amazing stay at the Camping site. Within in our one week stay we have made use of the beaches, the swimming pools, the water aerobics, the Maro Club and the playgrounds, the live concerts at the piazza (very much appreciated), the washing services, the bistros and several cafés, the Watersport on the coast side, the supermarkets and shops. Due to size and offers on activities for everyone, we will likely come back. Next time we would like to make more use of the V Sports Club and the Maro Program for Kids….
Note: Sure the cost is more expensive than just a normal camping site but it’s just not a normal camping site. Also while booking you except and know that you are at a touristic hot spot with several other people (families, teenager groups, retired grandparents with their campers, couples) all looking for different but also same experience like beaches, trips, activities. If you want to be alone, don’t come here and or plan your stay accordingly…

We had a rental. The camping is super large. Coast line stretches for 3 km. But the way the camping is organized, makes it still feel small-ish. The cleanliness of the complete accomodation is outstanding. Really, very, very clean wherever you go. Showers, toilets all in super shape. Access to the sea front from everywhere no more than 5 minutes. The main pool (Aqua mar) is nice, but too crowded. Queuing for the slides, the people in the pools... Further, the facilities on the camping are just too many to call out. Restaurants are good, but you cannot reserve a spot (e.g. Pentola, waiting to be seated can take up to 30 minutes). Price point for food is ok, drinks are relatively expensive.
The main thing I would like to call out: the number of vehicles driving around. Yes, it's a bit camping so you will have a lot of traffic. But the main routes crossing the camping are used as it where a true village. Speed limit is 20. Well, if people obey that speed... It's not enforced. People are driving too fast. Speed limit should be rather 10 (step-foot). I irritated me a lot. It's a camping place.

Great experience, lovely staff, if problem so it was solved immadiately, great sea view, perfect bakery and bistro, also local fruit, vegetable, wine and olive oil available for buying. I can recommend for families with small children, because there is also sand beach with slowly entry to the sea. Also many activities for children during day and for parents at the evening. Thank you very much Lanterna Team 👍🤗

We booked via eurocamp who said some services may only be open in high season but on arrival it was evident that the majority of things were not open.
I spoke to site management and they said they only open bare minimum of things at this time.of year and they only fully open in July and August.
So pretty much one restaurant and one shop open and barely anything for kids.
We really couldn't recommend the site based on our visit.
I also imagine in the height of the summer the site would be like sardines due to the sheer number of pitches and caravans.
