Kaštel Pansion & Restaurant is a 300 years old traditional Istrian house, built in the characteristic Mediterranean style, which blends wood and stone to great effect. It is situated in the centre of the village, very close to the church. The building has been renovated and restored, but the old stone walls and the wooden beams from the 18th century have been left, offering you a holiday in Kastel under the historic roof of an original Istrian house.

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice Kastelir Pension Comfort. The restored Istrian Stone House is charming, with different rooms and some with private or semi-private terrace. The rooms are immaculately clean. The host is helpful, hospitable, and offers a great breakfast, with fruits and vegetables from his garden. We had one meal in the restaurant, choosing our own menu (wild boar with home made pasta, and greens from the host garden). We’re so happy that we chose to stay outside Porec. We had such a memorable stay that we’d like to come back when we return to Istria.

We chose this bed & breakfast for its close proximity to Porec, Motovun and Pazin. The owner of Kastel recommended seeing Groznjan, the "town of artist" which was a real treat. Our room was very quaint and breakfast meals were delicious. I especially loved the eggs with wild asparagus served one morning. Save time in the evening to just relax on the covered terrace with a glass of wine.

Small village Kastelir is a nice quite oasis just a few km from Poreč. In the high season it’s excellent choice to be If you don’t like crowd and noise in Poreč. When you are there, this is the best place to be. Family owned, just few rooms, two hundred years building and very nice and friendly owner. Everything was very good but breakfast was amazing. Fresh frittata with fresh asparagus, home made jam and warm nut cake. You cannot expect better. Absolutely recommended!!

After spending a week in Kastel we immediately booked for next season, since we had a really good time there. The food was excellent and the hosts so warm and friendly. The family hotel is small and cozy, located app 10 min from Porec and close to all the places you would like to visit in Istria, like Motovun, Groznjan and others in the inside app. 20 min., and Porec, Rovinj, Pula, Umag, Vrsar and others, not more then 30 min. So, it is a perfect base for exploring the surroundings, specially if you dont like crowded places with tons of tourists in the peek season. Since we are from Italy, we will be back soon!

The Kastel Pansion is one of those beautiful off the beaten track locations far away from the everyday fast pace of life, the auto barns and traffic. Setup your GPS to avoid tolls and experience hideaway places like this. The Service, Room, Food and your own veranda just added to the magic night we had here.
