    Unexpectedly good and unique stay
Staying at hotel Jezero is unique. I did enjoy the stay and would recommend for everyone visiting the Plitvice Lakes national park. The hotel feels like living in the 70s which I think was so cool. However things worked and the room was very clean and comfy enough. The hotel also has all the necessary amenities like TV, hair dryer, toiletries, restaurant. Breakfast was way better than expected in quality and variety. During covid, they have people stationed at buffet area to pick and get food for guests which was cool. Yes, this hotel is not at the 4* international level. However, the price, especially with the summer combo park tickets, is half or one third the prices of international chains in Dubrovnik or Split so I’d say the value is fair. The most important thing was we were there to see the park and this hotel provided the perfect location for it. We could walk for 10 minutes to the entrance and park the car for free during the day. And Plitvice Lakes national park was wonderful.
Dear Guest, thank you for booking hotel Jezero and for your feedback. We are happy to hear your great comments, they motive us to keep up the good work. We are looking forward to seeing you again. Warm regards, Kristina Kranjčević, Hotel Manager

Very good hotel for a national park
Before you consider staying at any hotel in a national park, you really need to have practical expectations. I have stayed in several hotels in national parks in the US. I am sure that there are a few that are high-end (perhaps in Yosemite Valley?) but for the most part, in my opinion, they are usually comparable to a good motel. You are paying for location and convenience. You shouldn’t expect the Hilton or Sheraton. My review is judging Jezero Hotel in comparison to other national park hotels not hotels in big cities (for example, I stayed in Hilton Canopy in Zagreb and paid the same price as Jezero Hotel but it was an incomparable experience). Jezero is what you would expect out of an average national park hotel. Dated but well maintained. The room was small but had a nice balcony (that looked out into the parking lot but still large and a nice addition to the small room). My biggest complaint was the lack of outlets. There were none by the bed. There was one by the desk and one on the wall adjacent to the bed. This wasn’t convenient because we wanted to charge our phone while we slept and also plug in a cpap machine. We did not do lunch or dinner (Restoran Degenija, about 10-15 mins away was nice. We originally wanted to go to TC Marko but it was unexpectedly closed) but had a very satisfying breakfast which was included in the price of the stay. This hotel is a 2 minute walk to entrance 2 (make sure you buy entry tickets for that entrance! Entrance 1 is at least 25 mins away by foot, 10 mins driving). You need to buy entry tickets on your own but the hotel can extend your ticket without charge beyond the first day.
Dear Tamara, thank you for choosing hotel Jezero and for the time you took to write your comments. We always welcome our guests’ feedback and use it to constantly improve our service. Warm regards, Kristina Kranjčević Kraljić, Hotel manager

    A bit critical
Reception was friendly and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable although the bathroom was somewhat outdated with a ridiculously small bathtub. Breakfast okayish apart from the coffee which was simply disgusting but do not, I repeat do NOT, book diner included. Starters was either noodle soup, unfortunately not Aiki noodles which would have been a lot better, or a slice of ham and an undefined chuck of cheese. As main course we had 'untender' pork with a honey and mushroom sauce but the chef must have forgotten the honey and the mushrooms were replaced by tiny bits of pees and carrots. Not completely terrible but also far from good. Having said all of that, the package they offer with entrance to the park included during your stay (afternoon of arrival and the day after) is interesting but we would have gladly paid a bit more for a decent diner and coffee in the morning.
Dear Guest, thank you for choosing hotel Jezero and for sharing your experience with us. While we are happy to hear you were satisfied with location, we are sorry to hear we didn’t meet your expectations in regard tofood quality. We value every comment from our guests and use them to constantly strive to improve your guests’ experience. Warm regards, Kristina Kranjčević Kraljić, Hotel Manager

We stayed here to go and see the waterfalls and National Park which is fantastic. Unfortunately the hotel is not. Poor service, limited food options. They had closed the restuarant for a group booking and the only option was the buffet. Staff were very rude - probably the worst I have encountered on my travels. I would recommend finding somewhere else to stay if possible. The only upside is the location to the National Park.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed here for one night after visiting the national park. The hotel is a short walk from the park exit. Our room was small but did have a balcony. There is no air conditioning but you don’t need it as the nights get very cold. The hotel is big and the dining room is one of the largest we have been to. The included meals were nice and the coffee very good. The bar area is a nice place to be after a day of walking and the bar staff very friendly and helpful. The gym is one of the best I have ever seen at a hotel. Highly Recommended !!!

I stayed here with a friend to visit the national park. There weren’t many food options for lunch or dinner at hotel in the additional paid in advance meal. If I would have known I might not have gotten it but there weren’t other food options else where. My friend, who is vegan, had no food option other than to mix all the sides together and as a pescatarian I had to eat the same trout made the same way two nights in a row for dinner. During the included breakfast, I made a sandwich to go and was admonished by the waiter and he told me he was gonna charge me three euros for making a sandwich. I was super offended especially since I spent close to €500 to stay here for two nights that he would comment disrespectfully at a customer for making a tiny ham sandwich. Wouldn’t stay here again. The only convenience of staying here is that it’s connected to the trail head. Other than that it’s not worth it.

So this is a 3* hotel situated a few minutes walk from entrance 2 of the park. In our opinion, it provides exactly what it says it does with the addition of friendly helpful service. The location is its big plus and we are so glad we chose it for a 2 night stay. We arrived around 14:30, got into the park about an hour later and covered the lower lakes. That was quite tiring after our drive from Zagreb so we were pleased to be able to quickly return to our hotel. The next morning we got into the park before the crowds arrived and enjoyed the upper lakes. On reflection, we felt under pressure on the first day and probably rushed a bit worried we might miss the last boat back. Give yourself the time to enjoy this wonderful magical place. We ate one night in the a la carte restaurant where we were served by a friendly helpful lady demonstrating the best of good service. The food wasn't special but was a good match to cost and expectations. We had the buffet breakfast and the buffet dinner one night. Again, both were as one should expect - good choice, reasonable quality, cooked food sometimes not hot enough even when it has just been replenished. As others have pointed out, the bedrooms have no air conditioning so feel overly warm on a hot day even with the balcony door open but can get quite cool at night even in summer. Don't get taken in - I was because I didn't think to check - a lakeside room is NOT a lakeside view. There's a bit of a forest between the hotel and the lake! Our main complaint was the safe was placed so high in the wardrobe we couldn't see contents and had to stand on a chair (a risk) to ensure we had removed everything when we left. And finally, yes the hotel is a bit tired but it was clean and is practically a great place to stay without blowing a huge budget.

Hotel was clean and located a short walk from entrance 2 of the park. However, meals were below average, both quality and choice. Some meat dishes were tough and some food tasted stale or bland. More cheap tinned fruit provided than fresh fruit. It was also annoying that free tap water was not provided in the restaurant for dinner but had to be bought at 2euros each. Would have been happy to take our own filled drinkbottles but these were banned too. Reception and restaurant staff answered our questions but were rather unfriendly - no smiles or attempt to make conversation with us.

We are a family of six, who took three rooms for our visit to Plitvice Lakes national park. The rooms are very basic and desperate for an upgrade but it looks like the entire hotel is going 5 star, which is probably why it’s left sort of worn. I don’t think the rooms have air conditioning, which would be pretty miserable in the Summer so double check on that. Be aware that they do cater to tour buses but that did not detract from our enjoyment. Staff helped with changes to our park entry times, guided us to an off property location for great pizza and we hung out and played games in the bar. Prices are reasonable and commensurate with what you get. They also stored our luggage so we could spend some more time in the park after we had already checked out. We would stay there again.

We stayed here in order to be able to enter the plitvice lakes early, before the crowd. That worked excellent. The hotel is only 200 metres from the entrance. By entering early you stay ahead of the crowds for the rest of the day. Extra benefit is that you can enter the lakes for free on the (other) days you stay at the hotel. So we had a very pleasant walk when we arrived at 3 the day before. The hotel itself is ok but nothing special. Nice clean rooms. Good diner buffet and breakfast as well. Staff is helpfull.

My wife and I have visited Plitvice Lakes several times over the years during the different seasons, and as we were in Europe for winter, decided to visit during this period. We had previously stayed at Hotel Jezero in 2008 when it was very outdated and on the assumption that things would have changed for the better over the years, decided that in view of the hotel’s location being so close to the lakes, we would book again for our overnight stay with the hope things had improved. An overview of our stay is probably best detailed as follows:- Positives - The location is great being within a few minutes’ walk of Entrance 2, as well as the Station 2 shuttlebus and the P1 ferry - The reception and the common floor areas (bar, restaurants etc) had all been upgraded to a much improved standard and looked very appealing with Christmas decorations beautifully done. - Parking was readily available in the hotel carpark - Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful and also promptly assisted when we had to lodge a noise complaint during the night - Our ‘Superior Double Lake Side’ room which was on the fifth floor, was clean and of a reasonable size, with a balcony overlooking trees with intermittent glimpses of the lakes. The room contained a double bed and single bed which were comfortable, whilst the unsecured Wi-Fi worked satisfactorily - The room had a small refrigerator and an in-room safe, whilst toiletries (shampoo, conditioner etc) were provided in the bathroom - The restaurant is nicely furnished and offered an excellent a la carte menu choice, the quality of the food / value for money was very good and the service provided was first class - The buffet breakfast selections were adequate Negatives - The room furnishings were quite outdated and whilst the size of the bathroom was satisfactory, the bathroom had a high sided bath/shower, which was difficult and quite dangerous to get in and out for a shower. In addition, the bath was slippery and the drainage poor - The toilet seat was loose and insecure - The television didn’t work (remote probably needed new batteries) - A light switch near the luggage rack did not work - Whilst there is no air-conditioning, the room had its own heating system, which was turned on for our arrival, resulting in the room being unbelievably hot. Even after turning the heating unit off, the room remained overheated, hence uncomfortable - The rooms are not well soundproofed and we could hear the people in the neighbouring room, even before they decided to hold a party which become very noisy and necessitated a complaint to reception during the middle of the night. In conclusion, our stay was quite disappointing and additionally, the hotel is expensive (for what you get) in comparison to many other hotels in Croatia. Based upon our past experience, if you have a car and are prepared to stay a few kilometres from the lakes, one can get far better-quality accommodation, as well as better value for money.

Checked into Hotel Jezero at Plitvice Lakes for 5 nights. Fantastic location for visiting Plitvice lakes. We were on the main floor in Room 203A. Nice size room with a viewon the forest and the lakes. Excellent bed. Room had a small refrigerator and an in-room safe. The bathroom had a high sided tub/shower, not good for older travellers. We were supplied with squeeze tubes of body wash and shampoo also conditioner, body lotion and shower cap. Dinner and breakfast buffet were included in our tour package. Both offered several choices of foods to select from and the service was excellent. Small but modern SPA-Welness with 2 sauna's, 1 hamman and large whirlpool and seats to relax. We really enjoyed the hammam. Other advantages: parking, onde day entrance ticket for the Park Plitvice Lakes can be extended in the hotel without any additional cost. This is a hugh advantage. Very friendly and service minded staff.

Checked into Hotel Jezero at Plitvice Lakes. We were on the main floor in Room 205. Nice size room with a couple of extra chairs, a nice worktable. Had to crawl under desk for the electrical outlet and had to move a floor lamp over for lighting. Nice pillows and bedding. Room had a small refrigerator and an in-room safe. The bathroom had a high sided tub/shower, not good for older travelers. Shower had a half screen, not affixed at bottom, so water got onto floor when showering. The tub was difficult to get in and out and the tub was slippery and did not drain well, so standing in water. We were supplied with squeeze tubes of body wash and shampoo, no conditioner or body lotion. Dinner and breakfast buffet were included in our tour package. Both offered several choices of foods to select from and the service was good.
