We had such a nice stay at this welcoming and well-run B&B. It’s located at the very top of the town of Motovun. They will arrange for you to park your car just down the hill and then pick you up and drive you back down with your luggage when you leave. Breakfasts included addictive scrambled eggs with truffle cream, fresh croissants and grilled vegetables, along with cheeses, meats and yogurt. We recommend that you load a tray in the dining room with your choices from the breakfast buffet and go up 1 flight to the terrace to have your meal. Our room and bathroom were on the small side but very comfortable with good a/c, and quiet. The staff were gracious and very professional. The four restaurants that are within walking distance are all very pleasant with good food and killer views.

Motovun is a charming hilltop town in the middle of northern Istria. The Villa Borgo is located almost at the top, just below the castle. The rooms are simple, the beds comfortable, and the water hot. The staff and the breakfast are both great.

We had a short stay at Villa Borgo B&B in Motovun on our way from Croatia to Slovenia. Great location in the old town overlooking the valley below. The rooms are small but have everything you need, and ours had a wonderful view and the air conditioning kept it cool, despite the heat outside.
We enjoyed an afternoon drink on the balcony and the breakfast included was good.
Maura, Noah & the staff were very helpful from booking to check out, and were warm and friendly, and we were especially grateful for the pick up and drop off to the city gates with our many bags!

A small and personal hotel, Definitely a good option if visiting Motovun.

We only had one night in Motovun and this was the perfect B&B for it to enjoy Motovun to the fullest. The B&B is situated right in the hotspot of Motovun next to the best restaurants and the ancient city walls. We could park the car below at the cemetery (for free) and had a transfer from the hotel for both checking in and checking out. The ancient part of Motovun is not reachable with your own car so this was the perfect solution to not have to climb with the suitcases. The personnel is so friendly (from both the transfer, reception, breakfast) and helpful. The room was quite small but perfect for our short stay. It had no balcony but that was not necessary because the B&B has a beautiful roof terrace with a spectacular view over the surrounding area. During the day the terrace is used by the Wine-bar across the street (same owner) and if you stay in the B&B you get a discount. Both in the afternoon as in the evening we enjoyed some nice wines on this beautiful spot.
The breakfast is on the same roof terrace and was astonishing. Scrambled egg with truffle and fresh home-made croissant were the best part.
It was just lovely and especially for the price we had to pay.

Beds could be more comfortable, breakfast was delicious but it took forever to get one. Breakfast starts at 8 and because of corona is not self service. There are two people going from table to table, taking orders and preparing breakfast. All the people from villa was there at 8 and later started coming also people from other hotels. So you can imagen it took more then one hour to get the breakfast. Of
course they apologized but they need more people working in the morning and also it may be good that breakfast starts earlier.
After we booked staying here they were nice and offered to pick us up at parking place under Motovun, this is really nice in case you have a lot of luggage or don't feel like walking. We didn't need pick up but is good to know if some of you does.

We had an excellent two-night stay at Villa Borgo. When we arrived by car and parked at the bottom of the hill, they promptly took us up the rest of the way by shuttle, as some of our party have limited mobility.
Our two rooms included the gigantic lower level apartment, with a large bathroom and kitchen. Our second floor room had a beautiful view over The Valley. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast has a great selection of hot and cold foods, but the highlight of this place is its wonderful staff. Slaven and his team take excellent care of their historic building and their guests. We hope to stay with them again soon!

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were basic, but clean and a great value. The terrace was a great place to relax and watch the sunset with great views overlooking the valley. The breakfast was excellent - eggs with truffles and the best ever warm homemade chocolate croissants.

My wife and I stayed at the Villa Bargo for several nights in early September on the first leg of a month long European vacation. Villa Bargo and Motovun were among the highlights of our trip. The Inn is spotlessly clean and is situated at the top the of the ancient hilltop town of Motovun. Breakfast and drinks are served on a terrace with views that rival any in Europe. The owner/manager Slaven Zlatid is something of a wunderkind. He speaks four languages fluently and manages the facility like he is on sabbatical from the Harvard management faculty. O yea, the custom made truffle egg breakfast is better than any restaurant breakfast we had in Europe. As an aside, an Anthony Boudain restaurant is a stones throw away.

If you travel to Croatia, don’t deny yourself the treat that Villa Borgo affords.

We had the apartment in the basement, which is spacious, clean, has an incredible view and a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi(!). On the downside, the kitchen has no windows.

The B&B and its hosts are generally very nice, it has a terrace with the same berautiful view over the surrounding valley. Breakfast is fine, too, with great coffee.

The best thing about it: It is located in the very heart of Motovun, almost on top of the hill. You won't find a better place in Motovun, but it is not particularly cheap
