We are currently waiting for our taxi to take us to the airport after having a wonderful week in this hotel.
The hotel is really nice, clean, friendly and just a few paces to the waters edge.

The staff are really welcoming and the food is very good. We stayed on a half board basis and never had any meals we didn’t like.

Our room overlooked the mountains but you can get see views if you prefer.

Makarska is beautiful with lots to explore, but it’s also very easy to hop on a bus to visit further along the coast.
We went to Basca Voda, Breda and Omis on the bus.
There are also lots of boats across from the hotel to take you on excursions to the islands.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and the resort itself.

Comfortable beds. Good location.
Breakfast had quite good selections, three types of eggs and nuts included. But no fresh vegetables, just oily cooked ones.
Water coming from coffee machine was dirty.

Our bathroom door handle was broken. We informed the reception and they said someone will come have a look at it. Not sure if anyone ever came, but the handle wasn’t fixed.
Terrace at mountain view room was big but had barely any view of the mountain.
No kettle at rooms.

When we were leaving (11:30 a.m) there was no one at the reception and no one came even though we rang the bell three times. Not nice when we were in a hurry to catch the bus.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights in a suite. The rooms were spacious and clean. Bathroom and rooms need refurbishment though, especially the bathroom.
Breakfast was good although there are flies and this needs to be addressed.
Staff was helpful and arranged a transfer for us.
Makarska is beautiful and really worth a visit while in Croatia.

We just had lunch in Hotel Biokovo in their restaurant, food was just ok, and the service was terrible - we were served by a young man in his 20s, no customer service at all, zero points.

If you can, avoid this place because of the money that you going to spend here, you can easily get better service and go way cheaper in the area but not this place. I wish that I knew this before sitting down.

Not friendly and very expensive, they force you to buy bottled water.

I would give them zero stars if I could.

I’ve been visiting hotel Biokovo Restaurant for years. Best food and prices in Makarska for the last 30 years. This is the first time we’ve stayed at the hotel and the experience is wonderful as well! Staff is great, food is one of the best in the area and it is very affordable! Warm recommendations!

Two of us stayed only for one night but it was nice. Room was ok. Only bad thing is parking. We need to park in hotel Miramare which is near but it's a little bit strange. Overall, nice hotel in heart of the city.

Hotel was situated in a great spot in the town of Makarska. The room was clean and had a large balcony. Staff were pretty friendly and helpful. We found a local taxi driver that was prepared to drive us from Makarska to Montenegro. His name was Marin and he was a delight. Explaining history along the way.

Great hotel. Modern, spacious clean room with a nice, convenient little terrace. Great breakfast buffet, various warm and cold options. Excellent location - at the beach and in the center. Friendly and helpful staff. Nearby many bars and cafes.

It was a pleasure staying at hotel Biokovo, a modern and clean hotel in Makarska. The person at the reception was very nice, as well as the staff at the bar. the room was nicely decorated, with AC, minibar (useful to have a fridge to store drinks when it's hot) nice bathroom and we had a sea view. One bad point is that there was no lift, a bit of a pain when you have lots of luggage + a buggy... The breakfast room was a bit like a railway station, huge and noisy, but breakfast was good so that made up for it. the hotel is right on the promenade, facing the sea and you can park your car 200m away in a locked car park for free.

Excellent location, friendly satff and clean, spacious rooms!!
We had a little veranda and a balcony in our room, thus enjoyed wonderful views of everything - the beautiful mountains behind us and the gorgeous water/promenade in front.
Within walking distance to many shoppes/restaurants/beach.
Did not find the hotel to be noisy. Wouldn't hesitate to reccomend!

Hi, have you a swimming pool or sun terrace. Also how far are you from a beach where you can swim. Thanks
Answer from Ramesh R
Croydon, United Kingdom44 contributions13 helpful votes
The hotel does not have a swimming pool. They have an arrangement with a sister Hotel to use their pool. Not totally satisfactory in my opinion. Talk to the hotel about the arrangement. The hotel overlooks the bay which has boats moored including large vessels take people out to neighbouring islands and ones specifically to party at sea. Noisy on the promenade but atmospheric. A short walk away is a large family sandy beach that follows the coastline. Part of the coastline follows a raised area that looks like an island. On the other side of this are little bays which often have naturists. The coastline by the beach is strewn with stalls, shops and numerous reasonably priced restaurants. Enjoy this family friendly area, I did.

Where can we park our car ?
Answer from luvtotravelredcar

The hotel has an arrangement with a controlled car park near the hotel. They will give you a ticket and take your money. Can't remember how much it was but much cheaper than leaving it in front of the hotel. If you are intending to visit the island of Brac the ferry is opposite the hotel and you are able to park in a designated row for free after the last ferry has gone around 8 pm.This is also a good idea because it is very busy and if you are intending getting the early ferry you will struggle to get on. We made that mistake but you can get a refund from the ticket office next to the hotel if you can't get on. Hope this helps - any more queries please feel free to contact me. We went in September and parking anywhere was a nightmare. We are returning again in June but staying at Baska Voda but will be using the buses. It is a lovely area of Croatia and I am sure you will enjoy it.
