The hotel gives a great first impression with staff on hand to meet the ferry from Split and take the luggage. The hotel itself is only a 5 minute walk away and on arrival we were given a glass of sparkling wine which is always a good start! As our room wasn’t ready (check in time is officially 2pm and the ferry arrived at midday) we took our bubbles to the outside terrace to sip while we waiting for our room to be ready. The hotel is in a great location and there was plenty to watch while we waited. The reception is spacious and elegant and the reception staff were all very friendly and helpful. When we got to our room, it was small but perfectly adequate. The swimming pool is a great size and never seemed busy. The outside deck has plenty of space for sunbathing and the rooftop bar is has a wonderful view. A decent waiter-served breakfast was included.

Let me first say that Hvar is an absolute must with something for everyone, a true gem in Croatia. The highlight of the hotel was the wholesome breakfast served on the stunning terrace and the generosity of the staff throughout the hotel. Looking out onto the sea while relishing breakfast was just marvellous. We have learned that the Croatian hospitality is just wonderful; warm, welcoming and genuine people who are interested in the guests needs and wishes. Our suite on the 4th floor was generous in space for a city island hotel. We loved the toiletries. The mini bar was a little sad but understandable. The front desk where always there for us; professional and proactive in helping with queries. Currency exchange was commissioned at 3%. Air conditioning in the suite functioned well. The swimming pool was a little on the cold side but the hotel is surrounded by beaches and water taxis to the hundreds of islands. Highly recommended and we would return. No parking directly at the hotel but a short 10-minute walk through the town.

While the hotel and grounds are lovely, the lack of air conditioning (the hotel front desk told us to close the windows and wait, which did not work) and the all~night party and shouting resulted in a terrible night’s sleep. Also, the hotel staff started vacuuming the lobby at 5am which I could clearly hear. Find another place in Hvar to stay.

Gorgeous views and centrally located hotel. Fully renovated and modern design with a wonderful breakfast scene overlooking the port of Hvar. Friendly staff and they will come to get you at ferry and move your luggage which is a nice feature. Welcome bubbly drink was enjoyable as well. Little things to make your experience a good one. The negatives are that the rooms are very small ( probably the original size from back to the Yugoslavia era and it took a pretty creative designer to make it work. It is a bit hard to move around the “ bath” area and the closets. Tye bed is very comfortable. The towels need an upgrade and connecting wood doors allow the noise to travel between room which can be an inconvenience.

First the positives: 1) Great location- fantastic people watching from the front patio. 2) Very friendly and accommodating staff. Hotel porters will pick up and drop off your luggage at the ferry/hydrofoil terminal which is only a 5 minute walk. Give great advice on where to go and what to see and will make reservations for you. 3) Rooms are well appointed but small (It is Europe). Good sound insulation and great views. 4) There's a large spa- didn't have time to try it out, but looked nice 5) Rooftop bar, pool and deck. Negatives: 1) Weird shower situation. There is a separate room for the toilet, but the bathroom sink and shower are not separately enclosed, so you can stand there and watch your partner shower. Therefore, these rooms are NOT FOR FAMILIES, unless your family is in to that sort of thing. 2) Breakfast is kind of sparse. Omelet is 2 eggs and a small scoop of potatoes. 3) There is a small beach nearby that is a short walk, but it was super-crowded the day we tried going to it. 4) air-conditioning would not go below 18.5 degrees C.
