We stayed in two sea view rooms on second floor, the hotel is in an amazing location with fab views, the rooms are lovely and very quiet, the only downside was the air con didn't seem to go any lower than 23 which ment the room felt slightly warm all the time. We had temp checks on arrival, sanitizer everywhere, the hotel felt very safe. As mentioned in previous reviews there is not enough sunbeds in all areas round the pool and most days we gave up and left our towels for a family of four on one sunbed at indoor pool, on our last day we got beds by the pool. Breakfast is a buffet that is served to you and passed under perspex screens, tables well spread out with lots of space, queues never very long and all staff were very friendly, coffee, juice and bread served to the table. We never had to wait very long, the staff worked very hard and efficiently. Cavtat is lovely and the buggy for going up and down was amazing.cocktails in the piano bar were great, cocktail of the day was great value. Fab holiday would love to come back.

Just returned from a near perfect 6 days at Hotel Croatia. Sea view room on 6th floor with beautiful sunrise & sunset every night. Hotel was fairly quiet, as one would expect during these times. From entering over a sanitizing mat, to having our cases cleaned, hand sanitizer stations everywhere (but inconspicuous). EVERY member of staff in mask and gloves at all times. We chose not to have the room cleaned daily just to minimize contact but had no problem exchanging clean towels and receiving toiletries etc on request. We were half board and had excellent choices for breakfast & dinner. I'm sure in high season there would be many more options but under the circumstances it was more than adequate. The hotel is huge, but somehow manages to blend in to its location and almost 'disappear'. You can barely see it from the bay. The hotel location is perfect. So close to the airport but we didn't feel disturbed by planes flying over at all. Cavtat bay is beautiful. And there's a buggy on request to drop you down at the bay, and collect you. It's otherwise a steep walk or a lot of steps. Some lovely bars & restaurants, overlooking the super yachts in the bay and the best ice cream parlour. The boat ride to Old Town Dubrovnik is a must. Takes about 45 minutes. The 'beach' is not a beach but hard standing with sunbeds, right on the bay, with a bar/restaurant, free sunbeds/towels and steps down into the Adriatic. It's a really calm bay and fabulous to swim in. Really clear waters. We absolutely loved everything about Hotel Croatia and Cavtat. All the staff deserve credit for working through unusual times and carrying out their duties with all the added covid measures on top, impeccably. We will definitely be returning when they reopen after winter closures...

Great rooms close together on a high floor as requested. Clean and tidy - could do with new carpets and artwork. Great views in sea view room. There is a rocky side facing the Adriatic where you can swim straight off the rocks - wonderful if you are a good swimmer. There is also a small nudist section if that is your thing. On the harbour side, there is a shallower rocky beach that you can wade or swim in. Also nice with a view of the boats and town. Breakfasts were good. Staff all wore masks and there were glass screens at the buffet bars. We took other meals in Cavtat, Cavtat is quite pricey, so I don't think that the hotel menus looked that overpriced. Re service, we felt that our needs were taken care of. I don't think the service was smiley, but was efficient and met out needs. Had one issue with our room as it wasn't cleaned until we asked 3 times, and then for two days the tea tray wasn't cleaned / replaced. We went to customer services desk and they called the General Manager! He was extremely helpful, bought us a drink and sorted out the issue at once! Thank you so much for the personal attention - it was very much appreciated, 5 star. Cavtat is a beautiful town, unspoiled and peaceful. So, the hotel is in a perfect location. There are lovely bars and restaurants all by the water front, great for a stroll. Sunsets are beautiful. Overall, we had a fabulous time in Hotel Croatia and a great location from which to explore this part of the country. We would go back tomorrow!

We stayed at the Hotel Croatia for 14 nights on half board from 29 May, travelling on a package holiday with Jet2. The location as other reviewers have mentioned is on a hill so be prepared for steps or the very efficient buggy service with a team of guys who smile and chat away. The views are stunning!! We booked a delux sea view room but didn’t get allocated this on arrival due to mix up and after complaining we were moved to a fourth floor room, 435. Perfect and cleaned ever day, so if you have a problem tell the hotel on your holiday and don’t wait to put it in a review. A special mention to the chefs and dining room staff who all worked hard and paid attention to hygiene, unlike a few of the guests. The food was varied and plentiful, fish every evening, lots of fresh produce so perfect for us. It’s always hard to cater for large numbers but was value for money. No yogurts in cartons though? Breakfast on the terrace area was always nice and staff very pleasant, which can’t be easy with such large numbers of guests passing through this area, they are a credit to this hotel, a great team. The drinks are expensive, as you would expect in a 5 star hotel, but we don’t drink so not an issue for us. A pleasant walk into Cavtat and you stroll past all the desks selling boat tickets to Dubrovnik and the private area for hotel guests to use for swimming in the sea/bathing etc. There is also the Spinaker restaurant, which is lovely for lunch over looking the harbour and staff again are brilliant, bringing us bread to feed to the fish, do it and see what happens! Cavtat is very pretty and some great walks/views and visiting yachts parked in harbour. We visited the shell museum, just opened this year and spoke to a very interesting lady who greets you on arrival and well worth a visit for those interest in ocean conservation/climate change etc. Well what can you say about Dubrovnik, stunning and went three times, also did island tours. Korcula is a little gem and had a great day there. Happy memories of this holiday and will return to this lovely hotel.

We had a fantastic stay between 18-25th September. We greeted by the very welcoming and professional Vlado who informed us to our delight that our room was ready to check in at 11am which meant we could start enjoying our holiday straight away. The hotel location is stunning, views on all sides. The views from the sea view room balcony was unrivaled and we ended up staying in the hotel to enjoy a happy hour (20% off) cocktail and the sunset from our balcony more than we anticipated. The pool area was lovely but as other reviews have stated could get quite shaded. The cocktails were excellent at the pool bar and we felt they were very good value. We ate lunch here also and felt it was good value for the price and amount of food we received. We preferred the rock 'beach' to the pool as you had your own little private platform with deck chairs and umbrella. The sea was beautiful and refreshing. We didn't go to the harbor area to swim as it looked a little crowded with the sun beds quite close. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options and a beautiful view over the wonderful cavtat. I would recommend the omelets and meat/cheese selection. There was a lovely server at the breakfast called Rodylia (I'm sure I spelt this wrong) who delighted in explaining the local pepper sauces. The head waiters were very welcoming on coming to the dining room, the waitresses were average. I found the people actually serving the dishes behind the counters to be very friendly and nice. We had half board which we didn't intend on using but actually ended up eating in the hotel 4 nights as it was so easy and convenient and easy. I would highly recommend looking at the dinner menu on the board just before the dining room entrance and deciding what dished you would like to try and just going to those stations. We didnt see it the first night and ended up overloading our plates and smish smashing flavours into a bit of a mess. There are cold starters, hot starters, mains, deserts, cheeses and salads and a cheeky burger every night.
The cleaning staff were especially helpful and win the award for the most friendly members of staff who really went the extra mile.
The hotel is convenient with just a stroll to the harbour and village where there are cute little bars and restaurants. I would highly recommend Le Boheme in the village and also we had lovely lunches on the far harbour. There is also a small little shop in the hotel.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, it is good value for the number of amenities and their quality. This hotel is perfect if you want a base where you can be equally happy just staying and relaxing at the resort some days and to explore Dubrovnik and Montenegro on others. We would love to come back again.
Covid precautions made us feel very safe.

So glad we chose this hotel, would recommend Cavtat was much nicer than Dubrovnik and easy access to Dubrovnik by bus from the town on the number 10 for around £5 return.
We went half board and all the food was amazing, to a very high restaurant standard, good choice of food such as steak, gnocchi, pasta, sea food and lamb.
The piano bar is lovely, good music and atmosphere.
The cocktails by the pool were really good especially at happy hour we loved the pina colada.
Room was very nice but on balcony we got bitten badly by mosquitoes.
Only thing to keep in mind is there is a lot of steps down to the sea and town if your not able bodied probably not the hotel for you.

This Hotel is a very nice place to stay at. Great food waiters are always on hand for drinks at mealtimes plenty of sunbeds around the hotel rooms are spacious with movie channels on tv. A walk outside the gate you can get the boat to Dubrovnik for £10 return and plenty of restaurants and bars also a short walk from gate.

A party of 6 stayed for 4 days. It was at the end of our holiday and our aim was to relax and enjoy the sun. The hotel is superb with all the facilities one would need. Staff from the front desk, to housekeeping, to concierge to restaurant are professional, happy and charming and a credit to the hotel. Breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of choice. We ate in the steakhouse restaurant one evening and enjoyed a fine meal at a reasonable price; I'm not convinced by the meat in Croatia but these sirloin steaks were excellent and well cooked. We ate mid-afternoon in the piano bar and enjoyed excellent club and tuna sandwiches. My wife enjoyed a treatment in the spa although not all services were available. The buggy service to the beach/town was very welcome for a middle aged couple. Personally I was happy with our original room booking but subsequently glad that we upgraded to the sea view. If we hadn't I would have missed the spectacular lightning display one night across the Adriatic. I'm not one for a rocky "beach" so really enjoyed the convenience of a sun-drenched balcony. I was impressed by the Covid precautions in the hotel, the social distancing measures and particularly by the discipline and adherence of the staff. I have stayed in 5* hotels which have been more ostentatious and luxurious but the Hotel Croatia more that holds its own in terms of space, facilities, areas to relax and particularly the warm atmosphere created by the staff.

I cant think of one Negative thing about this hotel. If you have poor mobility then it will be dificult to walk up the road or many steps from Cavtat to the hotel. However the hotel provides a free shuttle (Golf Buggy for 6 people) there and back. The rooms were spotless and the bed very comfy. The Free breakfast was also good with a large selction of the usual and a great choice of fruit ect. There is a beach in the front but as there is no sand in Cavtat you walk down steps. There is also the same around the side of the hotel with beach towels provided. The sea is stunning and not cold. There are 2 pools. One inside and one outside. The outdoor pool is salt water based but its enormous and refreshing and again good quality beach towels are provided. The air con is perfect and not too cold or warm. Staff are also superb. Dubrovnik Airport is 4-5 miles away and if you use Uber then do so because taxis are not cheap (15 Euros) for such a short distance and 6.50 euros by Uber. This is by far the best hotel and Cavtat and we really enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovely stay in the hotel as a family of 4 in the beautiful town of Cavtat. The health and safety under the current circumstances were great. The breakfast and all facilities were great especially under the current circumstances. However, one issue- ANTS! I woke up on my third day with about twenty ants in my bathroom. We went down to breakfast not thinking much of it and we came back up as the cleaner had hoovered them up. The next day we headed to Dubrovnik for the day, and came back to find about 100 ants in our room, we tried killing a few but as we found more and more we had to call reception. They came up and suggested a room change and of course we took the offer and moved one room up the corridor. The ants stayed well away until the last few days when we found about 50 more. We didn’t think a room change was necessary as we only had a few days left so got rid of as many as we could by ourselves. I think the hotel need to properly disinfect the ant areas and place ant traps instead of hoovering them up. We did also check both rooms incase wed left any crumbs or open food but could not find what the ants were looking for. Despite this, the stay was fab and i’ll revisit, hopefully away from the ants next time!

The hotel is surrounded by greenery and nature, including the fauna and flora that comes with that. Having said that, we regularly have desinfection and desinsection services in and around the hotel, including the use of insect repellent according to state sanitation guidelines.
