Rising above a pine-forested peninsula overlooking unspoilt Cavtat Bay, Hotel Croatia Cavtat is the leading five-star resort and conference centre in the South Adriatic. Just 5km from Dubrovnik airport, Hotel Croatia Cavtat combines a stunning waterfront location with easy access to the paradise-like treasures of the Adriatic coast. Must-visit medieval Dubrovnik across the bay is less than half an hour by car, or a relaxed 45-minute boat ride away. Closer to home, we offer access to two quiet beaches – one facing Cavtat Bay; the other the crystal-clear Adriatic, an outdoor pool shaded by pine trees, a spa and excellent restaurants. It is an idyllic, design award-winning base from which to explore the region’s historic charm.

I must agree with the latest reviews of the Croatia Hotel in general. My comments are meant constructively and hope they'll be taken in the same way. Minor decorative faults and some areas are in "slight decline". Reception area is cool, upmarket and spectacular. Location of Internet and reading rooms behind reception are a great design idea. As requested, we had a ninth floor room facing the wooded area at the side of the hotel above the hidden car park. The view being high up was ideal for us. The sea view rooms are obviously very popular with spectacular views but many rooms on the other sides of the hotel (8th and 9th floor) were cooler in the late afternoon and still offered wonderful views between the trees to Cavtat beyond and the sea to the right. However, the views from lower floors could benefit from low level illumination at night. The view of dark glass window panels were quite ugly and oppressive. Although towels and bedding were changed daily as requested, the general cleaning (vacuming) of room could be improved. Suspect the laundry is close to the Steak house as the room towels often smelled quite smokey. All of the staff were friendly and professional especially in the restaurants. Contrary to some reviews, we found the food (breakfast and dinner) in the main buffet restaurant excellent, imaginative with plenty of variation and prepared to a high standard. Other restaurants are good too (although couldn't sit inside the smokey indoor steakhouse. Book a table outside) The piano bar has a lovely atmosphere at night with beautiful views and live music. Special thanks to the bar staff here for an endless supply of ice and always with a friendly smile and Kako si? Enjoyed Cavtat by night from very cool rooftop terrace bar above Spinnaker bar and restaurant. 100+ steps not a problem, take your time 7 min walk or wait 10 mins for a buggy. Lifts, experienced no problems. The outdoor pool is much to small for this size of hotel and guests wishing to use a sun lounger without "bagging" one early morning have no chance. The pool staff should remove towels after an hour or so without use, as policy. This also strongly applies to the sunbathing areas on the rocks (beach) by the sea. We noticed several beds and parasols reserved but unused for well over an hour (so took 'em without confrontation. We advise you do the same) Mostly enjoyed swimming in sea and bathing on the rocks anyway. Hotel grounds are beautifully unspoiled with pleasant walks completely around the peninsulas. The hotel could benefit by making more of the interesting archeological history of the grounds. The only blot on the landscape of Cavtat is the half built abandoned hotel on the waterfront. Surely its a great business opportunity for a quality hotel chain. TIPS: Buy single trip boat tickets on the boat, because you may want to return from Dubrovnik or Lokrum on another and in your own time. Visit Island of Lokrum. Visit the mausoleum and cemetery on the hill, wonderful views. On the way down, stop in for a drink at Bellevue Bar and enjoy the roof top views. Visit Dubrovnik by night, take bus there, ferry back. But prepare for the oppressive heat of the evening within the city walls. Visit Elephite Islands on Kraken. At least once, get out of the hotel lift on ninth floor as sunsets and enjoy the view from high. You won't be disappointed. In all, a wonderful 2 weeks.Looking forward to returning.

Spent a week here in October, staff all very friendly, food was great each evening, plenty selection, same with the breakfast. The surrounding area is picture postcard beautiful. Plenty of trips to surrounding areas. Dubrovnik, Montenegro. Will definitely return.

We stayed here for 6 nights from 31 October 2022. The hotel was really quiet which had some really good points: the swimming pool and beach areas only ever had a few more people than us when we went. On the downside, some of the facilities were closed due to low numbers eg beach bar. The hotel is 10 minutes from the airport and is in a fantastic location. The rooms were clean (if a little small), the staff were very friendly and professional. Tea and coffee provided in the room, along with a fridge and dressing gown/slippers. We paid for the sea view which was well worth it. Really lovely views (pic included). The tv was a little small and did not give you the option to view Netflix etc, but we did find a few English language programmes eg Poirot, Friends, NCIS. The free Wi-Fi was really good though, so we could watch/download stuff to our devices. We paid for half board. It did not cost a lot extra and we had the intention of eating in one of the restaurants or in Cavtat on at least one of the evenings, but we never bothered in the end. The evening meal for half board was fine with pretty good selection that changed every night. I’ve included some pics of some of the menus. I read that some people feel it was a bit like a works canteen and I can understand that, but it never bothered us. You have to pay for drinks (except tap water), but they are all very reasonably priced. Breakfast was pretty good - with a wide choice and everything you might expect. We took fruit, bread rolls and cheese away from breakfast in case we needed a snack during the day. We took advantage of the happy hour on cocktails by the pool (3-5pm), and piano bar (5-7pm). We also had lunch in both places. Again very reasonable. Large portions (you might be able to get away with sharing one of the sandwiches or wraps) - all of which come with lots of chips (pic included). There is one sort of rocky beach with facility to swim in the sea, which we loved doing. On the other side is a stone platform when you can also sit/lie and swim in the sea (which we also did). Most places involve going up and down steps - if you are in a wheelchair or have mobility issues, this is probably not the hotel for you. The outdoor swimming pool was very cold and only a few brave souls went in. The indoor pool which is salt water, was a little warmer - except for the last day when it was much warmer for some reason. We used this pool quite often, and it was lovely drinking happy hour cocktails while the kids swam. Cavtat is a 15 stroll initially down some steps (although there is a buggy service). We went for a few walks which were quiet and fairly easy. The walk to the Mausoleum is quite steep but worth it for the views. We were struck by how well tended the graves were with fresh flowers. Cavtat was very clean and picturesque. We didn’t eat or drink here but used one of the small supermarket type shops to buy cheap wine to drink on the balcony, plus snacks etc, as well as buying some souvenirs. We did buy ice-creams here which were lovely. We only took one trip (boat trip to Dubrovnik), which was amazing. We did the city walls walk there and enjoyed free ice-cream, given out as it was the last day of summer season. It’s a beautiful city and well worth a visit. We might have gone on another tour eg to Mostar etc, but out of tourist season a lot of things were not running (we knew of people that booked tours that were cancelled due to low numbers). My daughter had her nails painted in the spa and was very happy with the result (and it did not cost very much). We would definitely recommend the hotel for anyone without mobility issues, although it’s doubtful we will visit again - so much to see in the world!

Lovely hotel, great location and facilities. Chose half board as the additional cost was minimal. Food was ok but not the tastiest but plenty to choose from. Also kids under 12 get vouchers to eat lunch for free each day which is brilliant. October good season to come here as it’s a lot quieter but still lovely and warm

Our first child free summer holiday in 23 years! We have been to Croatia many times before and always find it a fantastic place to holiday. It's incredibly clean and the people are very welcoming and friendly. Our last few Croatian summer holidays have been in the north (Porec/Rovinj), but this year we headed further south. Cavtat is very close to Dubrovnik airport, so the transfer time is a matter of minutes. My wife left most of the arangements to me but specified a sea view. I booked one and have to say she was amazed when we got to the room. We were on the 8th floor with a stunning unspoilt view. The hotel is quite large, but well staffed and very friendly. We ate outside on the terrace for breakfast and dinner, although forest fires did lead to us being inside a couple of times - the smell of lingering smoke. The food is of reasonable quality and very varied - something for everyone, even a fussy one like me. Meal times were quite relaxed. There are indoor and outdoor pools. The spa is not large and we didn;t make as much use of it as we usually would. As usual in Crotia, beaches are rocky or concrete with no sand. The hotel has a discrete beach for those who want to bare all. The lack of sandy beaches is the only drawback to this fabulous country. Cavtat town is down the hil and there are regular buggy rides to the village and back. It's not a big place but lots of food and drink places. We loved eating on the harbour side watching the super yachts. We took a boat to Dubrovnik and walekd the town walls, then on another day the three islands trip. I am sure we will be back on Croatia soon and would highly recommend this hotel.

Pros - Excellent location for access to Cavtat and Dubrovnik. Great staff and service throughout the week. Half board food was varied and high quality. Super comfy bed and amazing view over the sea. Would definitely recommend. Great free buggy service down to the town. Cons - The hotel is slightly dated in the rooms and dining hall. The outdoor pool is very shaded and the water is very cold!

First impressions of this hotel were very good though as the week went on I found it had more of a conference hotel feel to it then a holiday one. We arrived early and our room wasn’t ready so we headed to the pool bar area and had lunch and drinks which were nice. We had a superior sea view room which I found a little bit too small for 3 adults. The views were gorgeous though and am glad we paid extra for this. Breakfast was of a decent standard but the staff were not overly friendly. I found the same with the evening bar staff. The pool area was lovely and we always found a bed no matter what time we went. We did prefer sunbathing down by the rocks though as the views were nicer. The golf buggy that took you to the resort was very efficient. Didnt have to wait more than 5 mins on any occasion. Cavtat itself is a pretty resort with lovely scenery. All the restaurants are of a decent standard. I would recommend this hotel

We stayed in Hotel Croatia for 7 days (9-16th Oct). The hotel is STUNNING. It is in a village called CAVTAT. It is 20 mins by taxi and 40 mins by boat to Dubrovnik. (The boat is the best way to travel as the views are just amazing on route) I could not rate this hotel high enough. It has everything you need. Stunning Views of the sea, fabulous grounds, lovely restaurants, swimming pools, and super helpful and friendly staff. It is located on top of a hill, so you will get the steps in if you want to go for dinner in the village, which also offer lots of restaurants to choose from. It has a beautiful costal walk around the property and down to the village. You are just surrounded by beauty. (They also offer a service to drop and collect you if you don’t wish to walk) I will be back. It would say Croatia is one of the most beautiful counties I have ever visited, and Hotel Croatia in CAVTAT is very hard to beat.

Myself, husband and two children visited here. The airport is 10 mins from the hotel and really easy to get to. The hotel from start to finish were welcoming and polite. We stayed in a sea view superior interconnecting room which is great when travelling with kids as you have more space. The rooms were lovely beautiful peaceful views clean and tidy with comfortable beds. The rooms are cleaned daily. Tea and coffee is available, mini bar, robes and slippers. The hotel swimming pools were also really nice choice of heated indoor and non heated outdoor pool. There is also a kids club and a outside play area. The hotel has a some lovely walks around with steps and a walk down the the sea which is rocky which some sun loungers. We went half board food was nice was suitable for all and handy to feed the children. The staff were also very attentive and friendly. The location is so beautiful the views are stunning, the buggy takes you down to the port which runs constantly unless it’s raining. The port is beautiful small but with restaurants and a small pebble beach. There are boat trips to Dubrovnik which are reasonably priced and easy to get from the port. Lovely day out and it’s nice to come back to the peaceful Cavtat after. The evening the piano bar hosts relaxing evening entertainment such as singers, guitarists nothing too intense pleasant atmosphere to sit and have a drink. The hotel staff, the location and how beautiful the location is made a wonderful holiday we were sad to leave and have no idea where any bad reviews came from we had a positive and memorable stay and would recommend this hotel and the easy jet package and transfers we booked. Memorable birthday present for my husband.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel for a week while we visited cavtat for our holiday. We expected a 5 star experience but it wasn’t all like that. While we were in our room, there were staff members barging into our room unexpectedly. They would knock and then suddenly walk in without giving us a second to react. This happened 5 times! Even if we had a DO NOT DISTURB on our door, it didn’t stop them from invading our privacy. This was very irritating and uncomfortable. (Not to mention being undressed and no time to cover yourself when unwanted and unexpected company comes) The other thing we wanted to mention was the room service food. It wasn’t the standard we wanted. They gave us a cheap frozen pizza, ok tasting pasta, and the rest was average. Apart from this, we enjoyed our stay.
