Although Bale is a charming village, Villa Lav lacks charm. Hospitality is hard to find, and the owners are not involved with the guests (which are not family or close friends coming over). For us a typical example of a hotel presenting itself online much more pleasurable than it is in reality. The swimming pool is big, but not really clean, and the changing rooms and toilets near the pool are downright dirty and outdated. The rooms were dark and missed freshness. The worst was the breakfast: far below the standard.
We were at a wedding in Villa Lav and it was amazing. The food was great, the service was awesome and children had a lot of fun. There is a pool on the property so you can take a dip whenever you feel like it. There is a lot of shade, so you don't have to sit in the sun and the smell of the air is amazing. It smells like herbs and lavander. You can also take a walk to the old city (Bale), which is very lovely! We however didn't sleep in the hotel so I can't write much about rooms, but guests looked pretty satisfied.
We attended a wedding party here and stayed for a night. What follows was more than we hope, This place is great. There´s a huge pool, and well cared garden, very tranquil and private. The room was clean and had all you need. The staff were all very friendly and profesional. Food thay served was top quality, thay grove most for themself. Finaly all was really outstanding, and we will go back definitly.
We spent 3 fantastic days at Villa Lav. The location and the food are great but we loved the most was the “family feeling” that surrounded us. It is the perfect place to disconnect and reboot. Chilled and cozy. FantAstic team / family running the place. Brings happiness 😁
We attended a party here and booked a room for a couple of nights, I really wasn´t sure what to expect (the website does not do it justice). This place is great. There´s a huge pool in the quiet garden, very tranquil. There´s also a playground at the back if you have young kids and there are several beaches less than a 10 minute drive away. The rooms themselves are fine, a little "quaint" but clean and cool and the air con worked brilliantly. The staff were really friendly and very helpful (for example, I wanted to get rid of as much of my local currency as possible and they happily accepted a mix of cash and card payment to help me out, I don´t even get that in London). Breakfast is included in the room rate and is very good. A standard buffet but all the ingredients were top quality. We stayed for lunch one of the days which was really excellent - plus they offer food more or less all day. The food at the party we attended was really outstanding - the fish in particular was fantastic. I would go back here in a heartbeat!…
