This is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped. They are set around a zen garden which forms a beautiful oasis of calm. Both the garden and the common indoor areas are designed with great attention to detail and aesthetic sense. In the morning we awoke to the playing of a traditional zither-like instrument which seemed...

Zen Garden is a cozy, quant, small hotel in Lijiang Old Town. The rooms are small and basic. The bathroom is very small with a tiny, stand-up shower. Our room had an antique, Chinese, marriage bed which was typically used during a honeymoon. Don't worry as all this contributes to the cool atmosphere and experience. Yang, Mudy and Jin Yu...

Great location in the middle of Lijiang Old Town, but in a small side lane so very quite. Rooms are nice and clean, the 3rd floor ones even have a view over old town. Staff speaks little English and is very helpful, breakfast with coffee, toast, musli and fresh fruits is ok. Definitely for recommendation.

We really liked the Zen Garden Hotel. It is well situated, close to all amenities with friendly staff. The rooms are small, but they are clean and quiet enough, given the central location. My only reflection was that finding the hotel proved very tough. Taxis are unable to access the old town, and our bus dropped us at the wrong...

The rooms and bathroom of Zen Garden are quite basic but I think for the whole experience Zen Garden is perfect for a stay in Lijiang. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we booked an airport pickup and someone from the hotel came to meet us from the main road to help with our bags. Most staff speak some...

The Zen garden hotel is very nice hotel in the old town, within walking distance for everything. The receiption is nice with wonderful biscuse and welcome tea. The only weak point is the hot water is not so good, so it is a bit difficult in the winter.

I enjoyed the feeling about being immersed in the ancient town with a building to match. The views were great and it was located a short walk to more of the action in ancient tow. Lots of sites, restaurant and amenities near by

Hotel is basic but clean and ideally located. Staff are very friendly and will help you with luggage which has to be manhandled to the hotel as there is no car access. Many restaurants in the area which is good as the hotel has none. Breakfast is served the reception and is basic but OK. Location and staff make the...

This was a beautiful place to land after a long trip and has everything you need, including awesome location, atmosphere and hospitality. The room was small for twin share but beds super comfy and great tea. You're right at the heart of the old town so it's a tourist swarm, but so easy to venture out into the rural areas....

Located in a traditional house with rooms clustered around a central courtyard, this is a charming place to stay....and the staff definitely help it make it so. Very warm, friendly and helpful. And yes, they speak English. We would awake some mornings to the sounds of a woman playing a traditional stringed instrument. The rooms are only big enough for...
