4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I arrived early in the morning, but luckily it was was not a problem.

The room we were originally put in however was somewhat below standards. As it turned out, the owner was shanghainese like my wife, and later offered other accommodations which was much better.

The owner was very friendly and down to earth, and offered much advice on what was good around the old town market, and even took us for a walk around the town. Later, he along with his staff and wife prepared a very good hot pot meal for us.

We only stayed one night, as we had to catch a tour to Shangri la the next morning. We were unsure of the pick up location, so the owner had one of his staff bring us there at 7:45 am in the morning!

Overall, great service and hospitality ... Some rooms may be a bit sub par, and for my western standard, the hot water and pressure were not quite enough for me to have a good shower. But all in all my experience was very good!

We visited this cute little inn during the first snowfall Lijiang has seen in 5 years (Dec 2013). Our host was very sweet. He met us in the snowstorm with an umbrella to help us find our way and assist with our bags. After getting dinner takeout at a local shop, we were invited to come hang out in the dining space for a lovely evening of drinks and laughter with the owners and some of their friends. The day we left the owner also made us breakfast.

The inn is very beautiful, traditional style with lots of wood and a beautiful courtyard. The rooms were clean and cute, with at least some rooms with soft beds. When we were there, it was extremely (and uncharacteristically) cold and I think we would have had trouble staying warm at any guesthouse. Nonetheless, they gave us several extra blankets, and the beds have heated pads as well as there being heaters in the rooms.

For those who will want to know, they have western toilets and 24 hour hot water.

The inn...
