Stayed for one night with a group tour. The hotel is huge. It is dated and in need of upgrade and maintenance. The room is dirty. The bathroom show door leaks. Forget about adjusting the heating and cooling system. It did not work. WiFi did not work. I tried the internet cable and it worked OK Breakfast was below average,...

And I am being generous in the ratings. This is another example of a 5 stars hotel that has lost it's glamour and grandeur due to lack of upkeep, maintenance and repairs. I was told by our guide that because of the proximity of hotel to Dali Gucheng (Old Town) they are always full, perhaps explained the hotel attitude whether...

I can't believe how bad this hotel is as a China-rated 5-Star hotel. This place is huge. We stayed in the center building, we were told later by others that the smaller buildings on the side are better. Where should I start? The hallways were dark, lights were turned on only when there was any movement like in most cheap...

Old Chinese luxury hotel, right at the border of the old city. Rooms are large, a double room has two kingsize beds. The gardens are filled with camellia's. Restaurants offer Chinese and Western style food. Few staff members are fluent in English.

I was in this hotel in 2008, and I found it nice.. But , in 2016, while all other hotels in China have raised their standards, Regent has really disappointed me. I paid a suite, It was dirty, dark, with a window facing a wall at 50 centimeters instead of the promised courtyard, the WiFi not working, the hairdryer broken,...

The hotel offers a quiet and tranquil environment. The gardens in the hotel may give you an impression that your stay should be pleasant. However, you will be disappointed by the facilities and conditions in the guest rooms which should be improved and upgraded.

On the way to this property, our guide was in apologise mode as soon as we set off from the airport. She explained that you need to understand the star rating system applicable to rural-ish Chinese city accommodation. Although it is a "5 star" hotel in Chinese tourism/government terms, it is rated so only because it is reputedly the best...

This hotel is considered a 5 star hotel. I must say this is quite disappointing. The lobby and reception is promising. On your way to the room, you pass long corridors with carpets which are full with dust. In the room it seems also that the carpets were not really wll vacuumed or cleaned otherwise. The bed was good. Air...

We are told this is a five star hotel with a very strange Chinese name. However, when we checked in, we found this is not even a three star hotel to my standard. First, the room is full of mosquitos, my wife and I put of four, but there are more. There is an extra bed in the room, takes...

Beware of the hotel lobby shop. We are a group of 6 guests who stayed at your Regent Dali recently on 6 May and checked out on 7 May 2015. On the night of 6 May we had dinner at the hotel restaurant and after dinner while on our way out we overheard a conversation between a Chinese man and...
