Staying at the Linden Center was a very memorable experience. I loved the food, laundry service, library, tea room and most of all...roof top deck. This place is awesome for large and small groups alike. #AIAChina2014

Having lived + toured thru parts of China. This is a soul-rebooting destination + private hotel to vacation at. Do yourself a favour. Lift yourself out-of-the-norm...come...immerse yourself in a unique (former) wealthy merchants home. Now authentically renovated, as The Linden Centre. We came as a group of photographers. Intrepid, global nomads, not a 'precious nor status seeking' individual amongst us....

What can I say?! Thank you so much for your kind words. We hope that potential guests will heed your advice. We are not interested in the traveler seeking only comforts. While we are proud of the amenities and the elegance of our rooms, we are not able to replicate the luxury of a newly built hotel. You were the...

I really admire the American family that purchased and restored this beautiful traditional home. It is in a small town where you can experience Chinese life with few tourists. Our room was huge and peaceful overlooking the back courtyard. There are several quiet outdoor places where you can relax, watch the nearby farmers tending their fields, listen to the birds,...

We are so sorry that the window adversely affected your sleep. As we mentioned while you were here, the arrival of the warmer weather in Dali is often accompanied by very high winds rolling down our adjacent Cang Mountains. Sometimes these winds pull out the chains restricting the movement of the windows. We immediately repair these chains but can only...

Brian Linden, his wife and his staff have managed to create a place in a beautiful old Bai house complex that reflects the way of life in the Yunnan area. The sculptured porticos, the carved wooden walls and the exquisite courtyards witness extraordinary craftmanship. Linden Centre is not a luxury resort. The chinese rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. The...

We are an American family with three children (11, 10, 6) who recently spend an incredible four days at the Linden Centre. I cannot say enough about our time there - where to begin? The Centre itself is absolutely enchanting, beautifully restored and is like stepping into a living museum. The accommodations were very comfortable and spacious for our family....

The Linden Centre trip, for me, was an unforgettable experience. The staff there is extremely friendly and helpful, and service was absolutely wonderful. I enjoyed every dish from the kitchen staff and I would recommend this place to anyone interested in a lovely Xizhou hotel that is close to the local community.

I had a wonderful stay at the Linden Centre. The staff is extremely kind and helpful with anything you need and make you feel at home. SiFang Jie square, where there are many restaurants, is just down the street. The scenery from the terrace is absolutely beautiful as the Linden Centre is surrounded on three sides by farm fields and...

The Linden Centre is the best hotel I have ever been to. It is well restored and very clean. Its location is perfect, as it is extremely close to Erhai Lake and to the village (Xizhou) square. It has plenty of suggestions for activities in the hotel and around the area. The rooms are neat and spacious, in order to...

The Linden Centre has absolutely been an amazing place to stay. It offered a very good cultural experience with the most friendliest staff. Everyone was very nice. The building itself offers a very historical experience but the rooms are as clean as they can be. Every accessory and rooms are very nicely organized. The courtyard and the terrace offered such...

The Linden Centre is an excellent choice when planning a trip to rural China. Its location is strategic and provides the guests with superb accommodations. All of the rooms are very spacious and very clean! They allow more than enough space to store luggage and still move around. One of the highlights of the Centre is the Terrace, which is...

Thank you for your review. We missed you yesterday when we took the guests out to help plant the rice. During your recent stay, you watched the harvesting of garlic below our terrace. Our local villagers invited our guests down to help plant the rice seedlings. We all put on the Centre's hip-boots and waded into the fields. We also...
