I was kicking myself so hard on not viewing reviews of this place before arriving there. DO NOT STAY THERE! We arrived at night and all the lights were turned off except the front desk. We had to use flush light to find our room. It felt like we were in the hunted house. The room was dirty and our...

Hall is impressive but the rooms are dated and very dirty. Hears in the bed!!! on the floor in the bathroom, poo stains from the previous visitor in my toilet etc... when I complained about this the excuus from the front desk staff was that the bilding was old...? No honest reason ofcourse. I viewed a couple of other rooms...

This strange hotel (with a statement entrance) was probably very popular back in the days. But now it's old, not that clean and the rooms are basic. The location is good though, near the night market. John's cafe in Turpan in the back is closed. Wifi is working, but not everywhere..

Hotel not near the centre. But a pleasant although very warm walk under grapes. Room very basic. No double beds. No internet in the room (only in lobby). Bed linen not very fresh. Pillow covers changed but the smell in the pillows remained. No safe, no fridge. Staff invisible. John's cafe at the back of the hotel closed. Note :...

It seems that this was a nice place to stay sometime ago. Now days is just a neglected property, receiving basic cleanliness. No wifi except at the fancy lobby. Rooms basic, stained carpets, bathroom below standards. No breakfast at the hotel, only at John's Cafe few steps away at the rear of the hotel grounds. Staff does not speak English....

The location is near the centre. To visit the Emin minaret takes a nice walk of half an hour throught the outskirts, of course you can also take a taxi. Rooms and staff are average. In the back garden is the real treasure: the John's cafe, for drinks, excellent meals, money changing, advise, etc.

My husband and I stayed here two nights while visiting Turpan, based on the advice from Lonely Planet. It seems that this is one of the few places in Turpan that accepts Westerners. I don't have anything negative to say about this place, except that there was no hot water one morning. The lobby looks really fancy, but the rooms...

Turpan hotel used to be the best locally some years ago. but nowadays since many more newer, tourist-friendly hotels are opened, it is not any more the first class one there. people say both positive and negative about it. I think it really depends: Negative part: 1: Staff in the hotel does not speak English and there you encounter communication...

Stayed here on Wendy Wu Silk Road Explorer which bills itself as a first class tour but this hotel is below tourist grade. The hallway was dingy with very light - probably so you would not notice the dirt. Very little light in room. No air conditioning after October 1 so it was stuffy in the room. Hotel is badly...

My wife and I stayed here for two days on a Wendy Wu 'Silk Road Explorer' tour of western China. This is the outback of China and allowance must be made for this. The exterior of the building looks bizarre, the interior is also quite distinctive with its chandelier ( we didn't stand under it) and the shop has a...
