Perfect location next to Confucius Temple and other tourist sites. Super friendly staff and the breakfast was very good. They even had real coffee in the morning which is what us Westerners crave in the morning. The apartment/rooms were excellent and very beautifully appointed. Gives you a true China experience. Highly recommend it for a great experience.

This is a theme hotel dedicated to Confucius, as it is located very conveniently close to Qufu Confucius temple. The hotel is composed of many villas named according to famous families in ancient China. We lived in a two floor house with two bed rooms and two separated wash/shower rooms. The house looks relatively recent built and with all new modern facilities. The speciality of this hotel is its internal decorations. All furniture are traditionally decorated as ancient time. My Swiss friend, who visited China the first time, claimed that he seemed living one night in a museum. Splendid! We also appreciate very much the service provided by room concierge. With her helps, our children experienced the demonstration of process of TUO PIAN, very impressive. A special THANKS to Ms. ZHANG Chun Chun, our concierge. Normally, I hate to mention any particular person's name in these kind of hotel review unless there is some very extraorninary event happened. However, as I understand it is a reality in China and especially concerns to the financial benefits to its employees, I write down the name of the hotel staff. Only two small issues related to this hotel during our trip to Qufu. First, there is no restaurant service in the hotel after 20:00 or something like that. we were hungry and tried to find one around the hotel but all failed. The sanitary status of the city, especially the restaurants, is not ready for foreigners yet, unfortunately. Second, the maintenance of the hotel rooms is like most houses in China, a little bit lack of dedication to details.

This was an excellent place we stayed on our vacation to China because of the traditional atmosphere and the service. We rented a suite with 2 bedrooms. The bedroom downstairs had 2 beds, while the bedroom upstairs had its own master bedroom with queen bed. It felt like we were living in a small but fine Chinese home, with a garden view, and with furnishings in a separate library area for the kids to try brush calligraphy. It also had two full bathrooms, and everything was very clean and in perfect working order. We ate all our meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner at the on-site restaurant, which was open only to hotel guests. The breakfast was an extensive Chinese style buffet, and for lunch and dinner we ordered from a menu that gave us many choices, including Confucian style dishes, vegetarian options to accommodate my wife, and local beer and sorghum liquors to accommodate me. Most importantly, we received excellent service. English was not the primary language, but there was enough English that we could conduct our arrangements, and the hotel arranged an excellent tour of the Qufu from an English speaking tour guide who led us into a deep understanding of Qufu and Confucianism. The location is not near the other high-rise hotels in Qufu. Instead, it is adjacent to the ancient walls of the Confucian Temple, which means you stay as close as possible to one of the main attractions of Qufu, and only have a short walk to the main entrance of the temple. Our VISA card with Bank of America did not work when we arrived, so we paid with Chinese RMB, so be prepared for that, or if you can pay ahead of time when you reserve. If you do, you will have a wonderful experience that will capture a piece of timeless China.

Great location across from the main gate to the walled city of QuFu. Easy to catch the ceremonies for opening and closing the city gate at 8 am and 5 pm. Hotel has a cool design-the rooms are like living in a China scholar's study complete with books, calligraphy pens and original paintings. Food in the restaurant was great, especially the breakfast which was included in the room price. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
