Upgraded to rooms with balcony, really worthed it as we can see the town right down and see and smell the fresh morning breeze at our own privacy. Strongly recommend this for those couples who liked privacy yet in the heart of action.
The hotel itself is so underwhelming. We got put into a room that was so dim, dull, no window, covered in sponge bob stuff which was ridiculous. Aircon didn’t work properly so it was so stuffy, bathroom and room walls could have used some fixing up. Breakfast is quite average. However the location is perfect, across the road from the main market/street area, they also have a nice rooftop bar with a nice view. That’s the only reason I wasn’t going to give 2 stars. Apparently there are nicer rooms available but we got the worst. Would possibly stay here again if they guaranteed we got a better room.
Lovely hotel in centre of Yangshuo. On busy road with most of rooms at back so quiet. Good, Chinese breakfasts which could be taken on outside balcony, with views over town towards River Li and limestone scenery. Spent an enjoyable afternoon break from sight-seeing, sitting on balcony and reading, away from the hustle and bustle. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.
Average hotel with is very close to Xi Jie Street, very convenient to travel around from here. But that's probably the hotel main selling point. Room is quite big though dated. While you might be drawn to the hotel by the nice open air balcony, the truth is I will rather not have it. There is zero privacy with neighboring rooms, not to mention the noise coming from there. Breakfast is underwhelming so dont expect too much.
The lobby of this hotel is quite nice but it is deceiving given how poor the rooms themselves are. First off I would like to warn any travelers that the two bottles of water supplied are NOT FREE. Each small bottle costs 15 RMB, an incredibly unreasonable price given that 1) most hotels in its price range offer 2 water bottles for free and 2) the supermarket right downstairs sells a 1.5L bottle for 3.50 RMB (the hotel bottles are 500mL). The room itself is quite standard however all rooms are fairly dim due to the fact that there is no central light, all the lights are on the periphery of the room or are small lamps. My room specifically had a few issues. The door of the dresser was broken and slightly unhinged. The bathroom shower was placed right next to one of the beds and had a glass panel separating them rather than a wall because... reasons? Moving onto the bathroom itself, I was not supplied with shampoo or body wash and had to use the ones that I brought with me. The door of the shower does not closer entirely and the bottom of the shower door hinge was not sealed, leading to a puddle forming outside the shower on the bathroom floor. The knob for adjusting the shower function was also broken and I wasn't able to change from the shower head to the overhead sprinkler. Finally, my room was on the 4th floor, on the same floor as their Bamboo Lounge, a lounge filled with chairs and desks to hang out in. Despite the numerous Non-Smoking signs, it did not deter people from smoking there as I saw personally and as evidenced by the smell throughout the floor and even detectable on the 5th floor. Non-smoking policies are only useful if enforced and clearly, the staff here do not care as the ashtray next to the lounge was filled with cigarette butts (also why even supply an ashtray when it's supposed to be non-smoking?) The location of the hotel itself is great. It is right across the street from the West Street, where all the shopping, food, bars and nightlife is but aside from its location, there is nothing that stands out about this hotel. The rooms are average, the service is poor, the breakfast buffet is also average. I don't know what the other hotels in the area are like but for the price point of this hotel, it is simply not worth it.…
