Stayed here two nights in October 2012. It was pretty cheap, and located at the very center of the tourist district in Yangshuo. The one really nice thing about this place was the balcony that overlooked the pedestrian way which was great for people watching. Unfortunately, the room was in a pretty bad state of repair. The bed had a broken leg and sagged in the middle, the windows didn't close quite right. It has similar decor to other places in town which was probably pretty cute once upon a time but has seen better days. It's above a loud bar, and across the street from another loud bar, and there's a couple more loud bars a few doors down in either direction. I'm not particularly noise sensitive but even with earplugs it was a bit much for me.

西街是阳朔最繁华的一条商业街，而酒店刚好就坐落于繁华的西街上，附近有很多夜店，喜欢夜生活的人住在这里会非常的方便，但如果是不喜欢夜生活的话，最好还是不要选择住在这里，因为夜店多了，附近的环境也就比较嘈杂。房间里面更多的设施以木质为主，窗外有一个非常大的阳台，主要选料也是木制的，很有民族风味，看上去还蛮有特色的。会有足够的阳光照射到房间里面，采光非常好。

I stayed in a standard room on the 3rd floor at the larger Marco Polo Hotel ( # 85 West Street) for two nights in March 2010 (150 RMB per night). My room was very spacious and fairly well decorated, but quite run down/ in need of many minor repairs- handles were missing from the shower and wardrobe, there was a hole in the wall surrounding the electrical oulet, the mirror had fallen off the bathroom wall and was just sitting on the counter, so that I had to bend down to see my face in it, etc. Also, it was quite noisy due to the bar downstairs, even on a Sunday night- I slept with earplugs both nights I was there and then I could still hear some of the music, but overall I slept fine. The staff were very helpful when they were at the front desk, but were not there most of the time I walked by going to and from my room. There was a computer with internet access in my room- definitely a nice touch for looking up info about the surrounding area. Overall I was comfortable, but I think you could probably get better value for your money in YangShuo.

We booked the hotel for 3 days but after first night on the very hard beds and without warm water and the bathrooms with really bad smell that you can not stand more than a couple of seconds we changed the hotel
this is a very cheep stay since you just pay 30$ per room/night, however the price could not keep us there
Many rooms are without windows.
The location is good, but nothing else was good in the hotel

周末去阳朔度了个小假，在网上订了马可波罗酒店，原以为是普通的旧客栈，去到发觉酒店还不错，整个酒店装修古典，房间也很有特色，很干净，服务员也很好说。酒店位置也不错，就在西街，隔壁不远处有个出租自行车的，早上吃完早餐租了辆自行车到处转呼吸新鲜空气看看宁静的古镇。一切都是那么美好。

My husband and I stayed in the Marco Polo hotel for 2 nights towards the end of our stay in China. The hotel has 2 buildings - 1 above a bar and 1 further down the street with an entrance through a shop. We stayed in the 2nd of these hotels and our stay was not a success. The hotel room was ok. It had 2 slightly bigger than twin beds which unfortunately took up most of the space in the room, along with a few other pieces of furniture and a TV which didn't work (this didn't really bother us). The bathroom was ok, nothing to get excited about but all relatively clean. The main problem with this hotel was the exceptionally loud noise levels. We'd been prepared for some street noise as the hotel is on West St which has lots of bars etc which play loud music quite late but this didn't really bother us. The real problem was the noise coming from the people in the hotel. Both nights we stayed there we were woken at about 3am by very loud, drunk Chinese tourists blaring the TV and playing music very loudly, as well as singing and shouting at the tops of their voices, banging doors etc. This went on for about an hour both nights and unfortunately there wasn't any staff around to complain to. The other major source of noise came from the cleaners who come in from about 7.30am and also started up the most incredible noise - banging doors, constantly shouting to each other, dropping things etc. This seemed to be perfectly acceptable behaviour. The rooms are so un-soundproofed that you can literally hear everything that goes on the floor you're staying on, as well as outside from the street. Frequently during the evening someone would also start hammering or drilling something in the hotel. Most of the staff couldn't speak English (fair enough, it's China), however there was 1 woman who could who seemed to shuttle between both buildings. Overall the room was ok but the noise was some of the worst I've heard in my life so I definitely would never stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone. I don't know where you should stay in Yangshuo but don't stay here!
