I think this hotel is one of th best ones I have ever been to. Everyone here at the hotel is so nice and helpful. My favorite part of this trip was going to this hotel and having fun in Yangshuo. This hotel had a blackout during our stay, but I still wanted to stay there , because I felt like this hotel was still great even in a blackout. The grounds are beautiful and if you stay in one of the villas the view in the morning is like nothing else in the world.
Wonderful place in magical surroundings. Beautiful, well restored, ancient building complex. Large, well decorated rooms, some, however, with bad outdoor light. Very friendly english-speaking staff, always courteous, spirited and attentive to your needs. Good cuisine with very nice meal options. A place to remember and return every time!
Ancient Garden was highly recommended to us by friends - they were so right about the exceptional quality of this special place. Tranquility is found at every turn thanks to the manicured gardens and the water feature running through the centre, seemingly emerging from the uppermost reaches of the hill the hotel calls home. We took a thousand photos of the Yangshuo landscape, but it’s the caring and energetic staff who left us with the greatest impression of our visit.
We should have stayed more than one night! When the car stopped I questioned where we were going because from the street it doesn't look great, but the hotel is tucked away in a secluded area. This hotel is aptly named because the garden is lovely. We were there in the fall, but it was filled with greenery and flowers. The hotel has a Chinese look and feel. After visits to Beijing and Xian it was nice to relax in a calm, quiet hotel -even for just one night.
This hotel is quite unique and a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are large and very well equipped, the staff so friendly and so keen to help. The trips they organised for us were superb with pick ups from reception and back, absolutely hassle free. The food in the restaurant was great and couldn’t be faulted with a wide selection to choose from. Thank you Leo and your wonderful team for an extremely memorable stay.
In the middle of a 30 day trip to China we arrived at Yangshuo Ancient Garden Hotel. It provided a calm and comfortable oasis in the frenetic pace of China. The staff are excellent English speakers, helpful and friendly. The restaurant provided excellent food and lovely garden views as well as complimentary afternoon tea. The garden is beautiful and the pool area provides a cool space to relax after cycling around the countryside. The whole complex has views of the karsts. Staff provided a map and directions for reaching various destinations and organised a car and driver if needed. Our room, in the Yuan Villa, was quiet and tastefully furnished with all mod cons - and the best wifi we have encountered. Unfortunately we only stayed 2 nights so didn't try the tai chi or other activities on offer but loved cycling around the surrounding countryside away from the hustle and bustle of Yangshuo town which was only a few kilometres away but seemed to be on another planet. We would love to revisit.…
This is an amazing place with an amazing, friendly, attentive and welcoming staff. Not just a hotel, but an experience all by itself. The rooms are incredible--modern and ancient at the same time. Quirky, comfortable, luxurious, rustic, clean, fancy, unpretentious--all rolled into one. The hotel caters mainly to Westerners, and the staff all speak good to excellent English. Trust us, if you have the chance, stay there. You will not regret it.
Amazing place! Staff is incredibly warm, welcoming and hospitable! Staff engaged with our young children very well and helped us with anything that we had questions about during our stay. The environment is quiet, with beautiful landscape surrounding. Great experience! Recommend renting an electric scooter across the street and cruise around the area for an afternoon, very relaxing and inexpensive.
This place is nestled among the village houses and karst mountains. It is part of a local chain which operates other guesthouse. During the day, cars are not allowed to come in as it is part of the reserved park - Shi Li Hua Lang area. But there will be shuttles coming through the main gate of the park to facilitate check in upon request. We believe this is a good trade off compared to the town “pedestrian street” area that is overcrowded and filled with touts. Good hospitality with staff who are helpful and warm, they can communicate in English as well. We booked a 2 bedroom suite at the ground floor as other available suites are fully booked during the Christmas period. Rooms are comfortable with good hot water supply. The common area is very comfortable and one can practice calligraphy / enjoy a book for a quiet evening. The guesthouse offers quality local dishes and can adapt to other food / dietary request in advance. We have most of our meals there / nearby restaurants (few minutes bike ride). We book a cab via car sharing app for dinner once at the Pedestrian Street but prefers the quiet village living away from touts. Bike rentals for the day are available right outside the guesthouse at affordable price. We took a bike to Yu Long river rafting and booked a car to XingPing / Xianggong mountain for the day. This can be done via the guesthouse / booked ahead online. Bike ride was beautiful as we passed through river and farms. …
From the fast paced hustle, bustle China, to a place I can only describe as WOW! The grounds are beautifully kept with the Karst mtns. as a backdrop, lush, calm, a place you could just sit and relax. The staff speak English quite well and are there to help with any of your needs. Our room was on the first floor for easy accesability, updated bathrooms, comfortable bed, nice tv with a few English speaking channels. Our daughters had separate rooms up on the side of the mtn. equally nice with super views. The 2nd floor restaurant offers great views while eating the free American breakfast, eggs hash browns, bacon, French toast etc. all very good. Dinner menu in English offers everything from traditional Chinese dishes to pizza, cold beer, cocktails, you never have to leave here to be satisfied. Can't say enough about the staff, they all made you feel special, I will miss them!…
