We are very happy with our decision to stay at Banyan Tree instead of the mountain top. The hotel is clean, well maintained and quiet, a great getaway from the crowds. Breakfast spread is excellent and the food quality is consistently good throughout our stay. Would definitely choose Banyan Tree again if we ever revisit Huangshan.
This base to explore this stunning location is impossible to beat. From the warm welcome to the great service, the team excelled and the range of facilities are excellent. Recommend visiting outside peak season and Chinese national holidays.
Good Service in all part nearby Hung village and Lue village , highly recommend stay in Banyan Tree Huangshan after you back Huangshan. Food are also good in here no matter breakfast or dinner but we wait for a while for dinner was servicing we can accept but one customer was getting mad and yield with waiter.
A long weekend took us to the Banyan Tree Huangshan Hotel to the Yellow Mountains. The first view in the morning from the hotel terrace was giving the stunning impression of the landscape. I wrote to friends: "China can as well be so much quiet, that you hear the leaves in the wind." A perfect location with large, perfect modern rooms. All staff have been very friendly and helpful - all the time! The breakfast was completely served and well arranged for all wishes, Chinese and international. A no. 1 place, which has its price.
Hosted a work offsite here for about 70 people and it was beautiful. Very scenic. All the guests are in villas/separate buildings throughout the property. Golf carts can be called to take you from room. There are 2 private karaoke rooms which you can book in the main hotel. Rooms are spacious, beautifully designed and thoughtfully services with nice amenities like heated floors, huge wooden tub and different types of robes. Only complaint is the buffet is a bit boring - much fresher / more unique food in surrounding towns.
GM took personal interest in all guests and staff very keen to serve. Room layout in the villa is very well thought out. Feels like home. Very relaxing everywhere in the property and one of the best picturesque view of autum in HuangShan
Amazing stay. We felt very relaxed in the resort. Our unit was by an elegant pond with fish swimming in it. The room is spacious with the wooden tub facing a valley of maple trees turning red. You can see peacocks in the resort from time to time which was surreal. The food and service was several levels above what you can get outside the resort. Plenty of choices for breakfast buffet. The chef Eason anticipated our egg preference after our first night and prepared for us withextra care. Overall a great experience. Highly recommend it.
resort is a well-kept oasis far away from Tunxi Airport. Despite being almost the only guests, we did not get a lot of attention of staff. English/French hard to find. Nice apartment with some weaknesses: low water pressure in shower, light defect, bad smell in toilet, Little attention to detail: bed was made for one guest despite booking and checking-in for two and two suitcases.
Stayed at a two bedroom villa with my family of four. Very strangely it took some effort to book the hotel and get proper response from the concierge. Apparently the email shown on the official website isn’t quite right... We found an absolutely stunning property at the foot of Yellow Mountain next to the beautiful Hong Village. We arrived very late and the hotel restaurant was kind enough to let us order dinner at check in and then deliver to our room. A buggy took us to our villa which is amazing by any standard. Two big bedrooms with a wonderful sitting and dining area in between. My children quickly fell in love with the place. The hotel organised a personal tour for us with guide up the Yellow Mountain, which was a good one hour drive from the hotel to the entrance of the mountain. But we were very happy with the car, driver and guide. The walk up (cable car only took us half way) was exhausting but worth every sweat and calorie. I guess the pain in me not giving five star but just four to this hotel is from some glitches in its service. When we returned to our room after the Yellow Mountain visit, to our dismay the room service food from previous night was not collected/taken away. They were still sitting on the dining table!! The smell was causing me headache and I had to open the windows to breathe the place. The last straw was I tried to call for assistance, nobody answered the phone for almost 20 minutes. I couldn’t believe in a five star property the phone would go unattended for so long! I was fuming mad. If Banyan Tree would hone its service quality, I wouldn’t hesitate to return and recommend others to stay there. It’s a magical place and wish the hotel experience could match. …
My wife and I stayed at the Banyan Tree for 3 nights. We found the property very welcoming, and the staff very attentive. With the new leadership, many of the challenges in reviews of the past are being worked on. John (the new Manager) with his attentive staff (Ivan and Michael are two examples) are ever-present. My wife enjoyed a massage the same day as the reservation. The hotel organized private transportation for us to and from the train station. Our tour of the Yellow Mountains was organized by the hotel with private transport and an English speaking guide. We used their bicycles to bike into the local town of Lucun for dinner in a local, family restaurant. John personally drove us to the UNESCO World Heritage Village of Hongcun for a half day outing. As stated, the hotel is in transition with the new leadership and there are some growing pains. Yet, this is the best option in the Huangshan area.…
