When you have been hiking up mountains in Asia and staying at accommodations where most building materials either have to be flown up or brought up by manual labour, you will be absolutely blown away by the opulence Xihai offers. The marble lobby with a huge chandelier (how did they fly that up there?) greeted us after climbing miles of... More

We stayed in the New Building Queen Room. We stayed one night on a wet, thundery Thursday at Xihai hotel 西海饭店 and were overall impressed with our stay. We arrived very early due to terrible weather conditions (11:30AM) and were able to check in early after a 15 minute wait as they prepared one of the rooms for us. Staff... More

Went there for hiking in April. We appreciated there is a nice hotel like Xihai which located in the national park and with over average quality of different features. Room is comfortable and clean, foods are tasty both dinner and breakfast, also hotel services are hospitable. We got sufficient information and suggestions of hiking routes from front desk manager. We... More

OK, folks, you should only book this hotel if you have done your homework and realize it is only accessible by a lot of stairs from the cable car. But once you are in you may be amazed, as I was, that they could build a modern western-style hotel in this location. Sure, the rooms are simple, but certainly more... More

One of the worst stays. Lobby was great. The room was tiny but quite clean, fancy gadgets like touch screen thermostat never worked. The dinner was absolutely horrible possibly old food. I got a dead insect in my food. I showed ti the manager and he just didn't seek to care. One of my fellow travellers ordered for a sprite... More

This is NOT a "hike". It is several miles of stairs. If you are planning on staying at this hotel, here are a couple of things you should know: Take a backpack, no luggage Store your big luggage at the base of the mountain (I recommend Mr. Hu's Hotel) If it's raining, be ready for a long wait at the... This hotel is ideal for anyone exploring the yellow mountains. The rooms are very western and of good standard, 4 star plus level so ideal after a days walking. Main points - It's a good walk from the cable car (40 minutes of up and down steps) so make sure you carry everything you need in a ruck sack. -... More

We stayed at dormitory rooms but we used hotel services and hotel was excellent. Nice staff and location perfect. About 3 kilometer walk from the cable car and still enough steps if you go to see sunset and sunrise. Close to many beautiful peaks and easy to find after cable car, because there are good signposts. Breakfast is expensive but... More

Compared to the other hotels on Huangshan this is probably the best one. The rooms are clean, warm and comfortable. They provide you with a heavy coat and flashlight for early morning hikes to see the sunrise. The Restaurant is very good Chinese food and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast. After a long day of hiking you can get a... More

It is your typical hotel fully furbished with basics needed in the mountain. Read other reviews of how shower foam and shampoo is not provided, however, that's not true. So there is no need to carry them up, u just need to bring toothbrush + paste and at most facial wash. What's provided: 1. Toiletries: shampoo, shower foam, towels, toilet... More
