Tucked away off of the busy street that leads into Santa Cruz is this gem of a hotel. It has been in owner Juan Eduardo's family for three generations and he takes great pride in sharing his home with guests. The rooms are large and comfy, with great wifi, and my husband especially enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere under the grape vine arbor in the center of the hacienda. Breakfast is a real treat with fresh fruit and fruit juice, eggs made to order, excellent coffee, and special bread (toasted) from the region. Host Juan Eduardo speaks excellent English and wants to ensure that your stay is a pleasant one. He rides a BMW motorcycle and can tell you where the best rides are in Chile. He pointed us to some excellent restaurants in town and helped us decide which wineries to visit. He is as much of a treasure as the hotel! Free and secure parking in the rear of the building is a huge plus. Highly recommend this hotel!…
Totally different to anywhere I stayed in Chile but we enjoyed very much. Very relaxed management style. Good WiFi. Good breakfast. We arrived late in the evening and was difficult to gain entry. A doorbell or intercom would be a good idea. Staff were all very pleasant, helpful and friendly. Lovely gardens and refreshing pool. Happy to recommend.
Juan Eduardo and Gabriella, provide friendly, relaxed, and very helpful service in their traditional family Quinta, beautifully rebuilt after the 2010 earthquake, around the mature courtyard garden. There is a nice pool and beyond that extensive grounds with interesting assortment of old fruit trees. The rooms are large, comfortable and stylish just as they appear on the website, with good bathrooms, and there is a large comfortable sitting room/library with a fascinating collection of old books and memorabilia from the family. Breakfast in the large original kitchen is exceptional. Fresh homemade juice, fruit, jam, ham, salami, cheese, fresh bread/toast basket, delicious local tomatoes and good coffee. The eggs are cooked to order fresh from their own hens just outside.. Very special. Juan Eduardo provides comprehensive local information, knows all the best places to visit, and will organize anything you want him to. He arranged a rental car for us which was cheap, delivered to the hotel and brand new! We had a great time exploring the valley. He picked us up from the cruise terminal in San Antonio personally to make sure we were OK and arranged our transfer back to the airport in Santiago. Nothing is too much trouble for him. Do not be put off by the front of the property being on the road. Once you are inside it is very private and quiet. You would not know that it was on the road. Actually it makes it very convenient to walk into town with shops, restaurants and a superb museum, all 15 to 20 minutes away. The hotel Quinta Maria is lovely place and the proprietors are lovely people. It was the perfect place for us to stay in the Colchagua valley.…
This really is a little paradise worthwhile a serous detour if you were not already planning to visit Santa Cruz, which is an excellent location to visit the vineyards from. The buildings have 12 large rooms, there is a lovey swimming pool, a beautiful garden to stroll through, a shared room with books and television and a splendid breakfast kitchen with lots of windows. Everything is decorated with great taste and care. The breakfast has a great personal touch and is delicious. The host is very friendly and helpful, and makes you feel very much at home without intruding. This really could not be better. We are so glad we stayed here!! Absolutely to be recommended.
We stayed 2 nights at this wonderful small boutique hotel. The owner spoke English and was such an amazing host. From lying by the pool and being offered home made sangria, to rooms that are large and tastefully decorated this stay was outstanding. We caught a cab to restaurants nearby. Best bed we had slept in the whole month in Chile plus total peace and quiet. Excellent breakfast too. Thank you Edwardo for going above and beyond.
