There was nothing spectacular about this Hostal. I wouldn't call it a "B&B" if it's supposed to be bread and breakfast, because the owner was no where in sight the whole time we stayed there, just two or three employees. The breakfast was the tasty basic "juice, yogurt, ham and cheese, and bread" that's served in most places in Chile.

This hostel has lovely, cosy and stylish decor and a nice pool. It also has a great location and a nicely presented breakfast. However, small touches were missing which really let it down. Although the staff were pleasant, they were not particularly friendly and didn´t seem to take much pride in the place. They didn´t give us any information, we... More

A very cute, reasonably priced hostel with incredibly comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. We didn't use the pool but the garden was nice. Breakfast was a generous continental, with read, cheese, cold cuts, yogurt, juice. The staff was fine, definitely not overly friendly. Location was great--easily walk able but quiet at night. I'd recommend it to anyone passing... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while visiting Colchagua wineries. It is a nice place in a quiet residential neighborhood, several blocks from the Plaza de Armas. The staff was very helpful. They recommended restaurants in the area and even arranged tours at local wineries for us. My wife had a question about one of the idiosyncracies... More

Booked online here planning to stay here two nights. Traveling with my daughter, we found the hostel clean but charmless. The women working at the desk gave little guidance about getting around the local area. We found our way with help from other guests. The tables in the public spaces were somewhat sticky, indicating to me, a need for a... More

This hostel is basically a bed and breakfast. It's in a good location, easy walking distance to downtown and plaza de armas. We bought food at a store downtown and enjoyed a light dinner with delicious Chilean wine by the pool in the backyard. It was relaxing. The owners were very kind and helpful. There was no power when we... More

A great, nice Place to stay. Simple rooms, very friendly, helpful stuff, a pool in the backyard. Its possible to use things from the kitchen. Simple, but nice breakfast. A wonderful Place to explore the wineyards around Santa Cruz. It was so nice, that we just spend another nighjt there :-)

The positives: The service at Hostal D'Vid was extremely friendly and helpful. We didn't make use of the pool or courtyard, but it was very pretty and inviting. Breakfast was hearty and tasty. We were able to pull our car into a secure gated area at night. The negatives: The hotel's website makes it look as though the rooms are... More

I booked D'Vid for a visit to Chile (they're very responsive to emails) and it wasn't until I had secured the reservations that I saw the very negative reviews here. We were a little apprehensive, but our fears were totally unfounded. Some other places we stayed in Chile --for comparison--were the luxurious Terrantai Lodge in San Pedro and the "high-end"... D’Vid was a really great little place, that served a good breakfast (you get full continental) in a very modern lounge/dining space and offered a nice garden and pool to relax in after a hard day’s wine tasting. The rooms, at least to us, felt like you were back home and the bed was endlessly comfortable. The two lady hostesses... More
