Casa Calfu is one of the very few places operating at this COVID moment. Patricio Abello is taking all precautions in order to provide top service with all the sanitary protocols in place. This is a cozy hideaway inside of Santa Cruz with a lovely, vibrant garden. The room is perfect for two people and the bed is very inviting with all cotton sheets. Bathroom is spacious with gorgeous towels and very fine soaps. The Spa was not working due to Covid but I am sure it would have been great. Breakfast was perfect starting with the punctual knock at exactly 09:29. Fresh strawberries, scrambled eggs, hot croissant and hot water for instant premium coffee or tea. The previous evening greeted me with much appreciated fresh fruit and very good drinkable tap water. Patricio is a gracious host and full of information about the vineyards of Colchagua. He waxes nostalgic about the events they used to have. In the meantime, he can recommend food delivery services at this moment as most restaurants are not functioning in Santa Cruz. I know we are all itching to be able to travel, visit, stay and taste the excellent wines of Colchagua and now is the perfect time to plan and book. See you in the vineyards!…
Wow! This is a sweet oasis in Santa Cruz. The rooms were cool and beautifully appointed. The pool was a highlight after a day of biking from winery to winery. The breakfast might well have been the best breakfast we had in Chile. So delicious.
My only gripe was the lack of a fridge for all that white wine I bought on tour. Room is reasonable size (though not large), quiet, secure (property behind electronic gate), central to wineries (though not walkable - car is required). Patricia (the owner and host) is affable, very helpful in setting up wine tours, and has great recommendations for local restaurants. Definitely a place we will use again next time we are in the area!
Very clean hotel which coveres all needs. It is a quiet and nice place with an excellent environment and beautiful pool. Moreover must be mentioned the very friendly, helpful and outstanding gorgeous girl at the desk.
Casa Calfu is a decent lodge in Santa Cruz. Their location is perfect, right in the middle of Santa Cruz. Our room had a great aircon: a modern and very silent inverter split unit. The room itsself was clean room, the bedding crisp. There is a good sized pool on the property that is clean and quiet. Unfortunately, it is not heated and definitely a a bit cold when we visited. The premises are gated, private and secure. Breakfast is served in the main building and was included in our rate. It is simple, but sufficient. They make fresh scrambled eggs and fresh fruits are on the buffet. The staff did speak some english which made communicating easier. We did see some room for improvements, especially in room amenties. We would have appreciated a small refrigurator and coffee/tea facilities in the room. Also, the bed was was quite soft and we had no spare roll of toilet paper in the bathroom.…
My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights in late November. What a great place! The rooms were comfortable and the pool/yard setting was gorgeous. We used the pool every afternoon after wine tasting. The breakfast served every morning was very good and the staff always friendly and accommodating. I would suggest hiring a driver if would like to visit the wineries. Patricio set it up for us and it cost around $70 USD for the day. The wineries are beautiful and the wines good. Definitely recommend!
This B&B offered everything we wanted - a great central location, clean room and a very comfortable bed. The swimming pool area is beautiful (although it was too cold to use it when we were there) and they served an excellent breakfast. Couple that with a very helpful staff and you have a real winner.
We had a wonderful stay here. Room was great and very clean and well equipped. There is a well maintained clean small pool In the garden also with comfortable outdoor chairs. The main advantage of the hotel is the owner (and his staff). Patricio the owner was extremely helpful in organising wine tours in the Colchagua valley and with restaurant suggestions which was extremely valuable given that the tourist information office in town appeared to be permanently shut! Breakfast was also great quality and location is very good being only a short walk to town. Highly recommended
This is truely a small paradise! Excellent rooms, beautiful garden with swimmingpool and deck chairs to enjoy the sun, very tasty and complete breakfast, private parking inside the gate. Combine with visits to the Colghagua wineries and an authentic Chilean diner at the Club Union Social Santa Cruz makes this a must-stay in Santa Cruz!
We had a fantastic stay. Great location to walk into town. Breakfasts were very good. Even cooked us scrambled eggs with bacon. The owner was able to speak English and happily booked outstanding winery tours for us. Room very clean and a nice lawn and pool to relax at in the evenings.
