Far from the urban hustle, this place is a haven of peace. The breakfast was large and very good, ideal for "busy schedules" in San Pedro de Atacama ;) Rooms were clean, no problem ! Thank you very much Caroline & Hugo

There are a lot of positives: nice surroundings, close to town but very quiet, hot showers, huge and comfy beds, warm rooms. Downsides are c.60 USD per night is pricey for a double room, the WiFi is temperamental and doesn't reach the rooms at the rear, most tours leave before breakfast and, despite assurances of sandwiches, these never materialised. In... More

This place is just ok but not really worth the cost. The shower is nice and warm, beds are comfortable and the grounds are quite peaceful. On the downside: there is a strong smell of cat (or maybe dog) urine everywhere; breakfast is really bland and meagre consisting of a small kids' yogurt, tiny portion of cornflakes, white bread and... It was expensive and probably the most we've ever paid for a single room. 110 000CLP per night. I've discovered that in Chile when you travel as a family- a room will cost more. Breakfast was included. But out of our four night stay we had breakfast twice as breakfast was included in two of the early morning tours we... More

We stayed here for four nights with a group of twelve family members -- five of them under the age of six. We had a wonderful stay and found the staff to be extremely nice and tolerant of our boisterous group. The kids were thoroughly entertained by the three hammocks in the courtyard and swing and trampoline and although they... More

Breakfast is very poor. You are served at the table so you don’t pick what is necessary for your hunger. You choose between scrambled eggs or ham+cheese and bread. The breakfast hours are very bad. 07h30m until 09h30m. Usually breakfast extends until 10 or 11h. They give you a VERY small cup of artificial orange juice and one fruit of... More

I spent in November a few days in Hostal Elim with my friend. We had a great time! Th hotel is located very near the centre but it has also at the same time quiteness and a great garden to sit and relax. The room we had was very good and the breakfast very tasty and filling. There was also... More

We hadn't booked this place but we had trouble when we arrived in San Pedro at 1am, as our taxi driver couldn't find the hostel we had booked! After knocking on several doors, we found this place and stayed here instead. So despite our impromptu arrival we had a lovely stay. The staff didn't speak much English but we managed... More

We wish we could review the hotel but didn't get the chance. We have a few emails of communications back and forth from Maria only a few days before our arrival confirming our reservation, room type, rate, and dates. She even talks about arranging transport from Calama airport for us. When we arrived Maria wasn't there and another woman found... More

Hostal Elim is a bit of a walk from the centre, but as San Pedro is tiny this means not even a 10 minute distance. And it is actually quite welcome as the centre can get quite lively. So you can retreat to the lovely green garden and relax in the hammocks for a bit. Our room was nice, you... More

“Number 1 (3 single beds) is not very private as every guest passes in front of it to access their room. Also cars park in front of the door of the room. Nice bathroom. Number 5 (1 double bed) has its little courtyard behind - perfect for drying off laundry or airing shoes. The biggest the number, the further from the entrance (but the back of the hotel is the smoking area).”
