Have no idea how this hostel has such good reviews when it was without a doubt the most overpriced, yet undervalue hostel ive stayed in the whole of South America. Dont let hippie vibe and cool murals fool you. Stayed in the 6 bed ensuite dorm upstairs, which is situated right next to the bar....& i mean, the sub woofer... More

This hostel has a very good location. But that is the only good thing about it. You can't enter any alcohol to the hostel. They will ask you to leave. It has 3 showers and 4 bathrooms which aren't enough if you consider it's guest capacity. The beds are very small, my feet got out of bed if I laid... More

Pros: Good location, helpful/nice staff, decent atmostphere at night Cons: Hardly any hot water in showers, frequent power cuts, cramped rooms, ongoing construction work, lost clothes in laundry, slow internet, no breakfast included (its $25 a night to stay here!) Must be better value for money in San Pedro!

When I arrived in San Pedro, I joined a friend who booked this place in advance. It was difficult for me to make a choice in which hostel I would stay. But from the moment I entered this place, I felt so welcome and home. Nate is a really good, friendly and relaxed person to welcome you in the hostel!... More

The nightlife was crazy. Drinking, smoking, beers, cards, BBQ on Friday nights, and games. I met so many people from around the world such as from the UK, Germany, Brazil, Canada, Netherlands, Mexico, and various parts of the United States. I traveled with 3 other girls, all were in one room with 2 strangers that changed each of our 4... More

This hostal already had really good reviews but I was not expecting it to be as cool as it was. From the moment I walked in the friendly staff (especially Nate) gave off a really relaxed vibe and were always very helpful. The hostal itself is very cool, with comfortable beds, chilled out music for most of the day, 24... More

Hostal Rural has been one of the best places I have stayed in on my travels. Comfy beds, wifi, great music played throughout the day that you can just chill out to, hot showers available 24/7 (still amazes me this is available in the desert!) and is very funky and cute with cool mosaics and ornaments in every available space... I have been traveling for years and this hostel was something special. Hot showers, always clean, the best vibe (if you want to chill you can, if you want to party you can). The hostel has the best set up you can imagine with beautiful artwork everywhere. I do not even have words to describe how beautiful and helpful the... More

This hostel is funky and cute and the guy on reception spoke good English. Our room was warm and we had hot showers (though heard others were not as warm). Cute surroundings and good location, close to all tour agencies and reaturants but could also arrange tours through the hostel. Would recommend to any traveller passing through. Recommended resturant: LO... More

Staff are friendly and helpful, price is fair, and rooms and beds are adequate. The cleaning service is very good, and the showers/bathrooms are always in proper conditions. The only downside is that it can be very noisy the whole day, not ideal for a day nap or early sleepers.
