Lodge Andino was a piece of paradise tucked away in the Maipo Valley in the midst of the Andes mountains. I knew a business group who went there for a day trip earlier in the week, said it was wonderful so I decided my last couple days in Chile alone. The lodge arranged for a driver who picked me up at my Santiago hotel. Magdalena, who owns this piece of well hidden heaven (they will provide directions for you) along with her husband had paid great attention to details making this lodge feel like a home away from home. Feather beds, chaise lounges (also feather), fireplaces in your room, views no matter where you look, incredible flowers, hot tub, pool, horses (Jorge provides a great ride to the top of the nearby mountains as well as extended rides and overnight rides), the chef, Pedro prepares all his meals with a flair that is a delightful surprise. You will never be hungry nor will your palate be bored plus the freshly made beverages again are very special as well. The lodge is on over 80,000 acres but only accomodates less than 20 guests overnight which keeps it very intimate and the staff guest ratio small enough that you are doted upon if you so chose. If you like skiing, this is also a great place to have as a home base after skiing all day.

My husband, daughter and I had a fantastic experience at Lodge Andino El Ingenio. It was a quiet oasis for us. Our room was spacious, updated, comfortable and clean. The staff was fantastic - we were even able to communicate pretty well with the staff members who didn't speak English very well, although about half the staff did. They were very helpful to us as we had to scramble for plans due to unrest in Santiago.

The food is absolutely amazing and the chef is very inventive! We didn't leave for a meal the entire time we were there. Also, the amenities are very nice. The pool and lounging areas are great, and my husband and I both got great massages. If I ever go back, I will stay here again.

This was my favorite day during our 5 day stay in Chile. Our large group visited Lodge Andino and enjoyed a welcome snack, hiking and lunch at this gorgeous property. Views of the snow capped mountains greeted us as we sipped coffee and ate fresh baked pastries. Then, we were off to our hike. We walked through walnut tree groves, over steep hills and down by the river. A spectacular way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Our lunch of roasted lamb and chicken was outstanding. We feasted, drank incredible Carmenere and ate dessert poolside. Everyone should have the chance to visit Lodge Andino. I'm incredibly thankful I was able to experience this wonderful place.

We enjoyed our brief stay at the Lodge Andino. The views were spectacular and our room, with it's wood burning stove was a treat by itself. I would recommend going a little before we did at the end of May to avoid the incliment weather that we experienced. Also, note that if you drive to the Lodge, you will need to ask for directions as the final turns through the pueblo of Ingenio are not marked.

The Lodge Andino is situated about 1-1/2 hours from the Santiago airport and perhaps 2-1/2 hours from Valparaiso (if you are starting or ending a cruise around Cape Horn like we did) in the Andes Mountains. The property which encompasses the Lodge is in the midst of about 40,000 plus acres of private land set aside as a reserve. Hiking, horseback and mtb riding, as well as zip lining, are all available on the property.

The are so many outstanding things I remember about our 3 day stay, including the warmth of everyone (the owners, op mgr Rodrigo Diaz and staff), accomodations, the food, The Lodge caters only to a small number of people so you always feel at home. The meals were always terrific and plentiful but were only surpassed by their deserts which are made close by in their bakery. We all agreed, 'We should have stayed longer.'

The Lodge's web site is www.lodgeandino.cl (not .com) which was the reaon I originally had trouble contacting them to set up reservations. This is an undiscovered gem!

I stayed at the Lodge Andino in 2010 for one night for a work-retreat and it was an amazing experience. The staff were incredible in helping us set everything up for our meeting as well as for our other activities.
The staff is very attentive to small details that make the stay incredible. For example, we arrived late at night and they were waiting for us with snacks and a beautiful fire in the common room. We also had one night of paella around the fire place.
The rooms, the lodge and the overall location are great. I highly recommend this place!
Gracias por un servicio espectacular!

My partner and I loved our stay at Lodge Andino. Only an hour and a half from Santiago I agree with other travellers it is the perfect place to stay for a few days at the end or beginning of your trip. We found this place whilst looking through a book titled South Americas best places to stay. We initially tried to book on-line but it didn't work so we contacted Esther the owner direct (esther@lodgeandino.com)
At first we thought the rate was a bit expensive, however how wrong could we be. It was such good value for money, we were upgraded to one of the lodges (which was beautiful). The food was fantastic, all meals were included in the price along with excursions. We went hiking in the walnut plantation and pony trekking into the mountains. Our translator was such a lovely girl too, so knowledgeable. The secluded Jacuzzi looks over the snow capped mountains, there is a pool and spa facilities on request.
I loved my trip to Chile but this was most definitely a highlight and the perfect way to finish our trip. The chef is top notch, making all food using local produce and explaining about the food at each course, he also made us a packed lunch for our journey home to the UK!
This is a quite, unspoilt, romantic and luxurious place to stay. Thank you to everyone at Lodge Andino

Only an hour and a half from Santiago, Lodge Andino is a beautiful small Eco-lodge in the Canyon del Maipo, close to the high Andes. The lodge is in the former hacienda of a large farm (19,000 hectares) that is still producing fruits, walnuts and sheep and horses. There are a few rooms in the main house and a couple of detached bungalows with large and comfortable en suite rooms surrounded by gardens. There are a number of activities that can be arranged, including trekking to the nearby glaciers, horseback riding, river rafting and birding. Chef Osvaldo produces fabulous cuisine, much of it made from produce from the farm or baked in the bakery on the farm. The staff at the Lodge are warm and welcoming and will make you feel at home. The only issue is that it was hard to reach them by email to reserve. They are working on getting this fixed. The WiFi connection in the lodge worked well, and you may be able to get through from the US by emailing esther@lodgeandino.com.

After leaving another lodge early that we were very disappointed in, we arrived to Lodge Andino with a huge sigh of relief that our last night in Chile would be wonderful and relaxing. The lodge is located in the Maipo Valley - a beautiful and charming oasis. My husband, two children and I stayed in the two largest rooms which were clean and very nice. The food is out of this world! The chef takes great pride in making wonderful food and it shows. We did two excursions - a walk/hike and a horseback ride. Both were a lot of fun. Sergio led them both and did a nice job. I definitely recommend as a place to spend a couple of nights in the Chilean countryside.

This Lodge is set in the hills in well maintained gardens with swimming pool.
A great get away from it all destination with various activities available if required. We had full
board for our 4-night stay and the food was delicious - thanks to the two Chefs - the best we had
during our 8 weeks in Chile. Large airy bedrooms and bathrooms with no televisions. Wi fi is available in the general area. The staff were very helpful at all times. Highly recommended.
