My husband, daughter and I had a fantastic experience at Lodge Andino El Ingenio. It was a quiet oasis for us. Our room was spacious, updated, comfortable and clean. The staff was fantastic - we were even able to communicate pretty well with the staff members who didn't speak English very well, although about half the staff did. They were very helpful to us as we had to scramble for plans due to unrest in Santiago. The food is absolutely amazing and the chef is very inventive! We didn't leave for a meal the entire time we were there. Also, the amenities are very nice. The pool and lounging areas are great, and my husband and I both got great massages. If I ever go back, I will stay here again.
Where to start. This place is just unbelievable. Beautiful grounds, secluded and quiet, a well maintained pool and hot tub, incredibly scenic views and surroundings and ideal location for walking further into Cajon de Maipo. What really makes it outstanding is two things: 1) the food and 2) the staff. In particular, Henry the chef, alongside his sous chef, creates fabulous meals every day, to any dietary requirements (one of us was gluten free) and with different themes and ingredients each day. Amazing breakfasts, 3 course lunches and 4 course dinners, all gourmet is style and delicious. He also went out of his way to be inventive and create new ideas based on what we’d previously liked, he made superb packed lunches to take out on walks, and even baked fresh bread. Rebecca was also the sweetest, most charming hostess and waitress - so accommodating, funny, nothing was too much effort, and between them they made the stay what it was. Would come here again in a heartbeat and hopefully won’t be long before we do!…
We were visiting Chile from the US and had to re-route after the flooding in the Atacama desert. Picked Cajon del Maipo due to its proximity to Santiago and picked the Lodge Andino after seeing the rating on Trip Advisor. It exceeded all expectations. We were greeted by Henry, the chef who warmly welcomed us and gave us the lay of the land in wonderful English. We ate 2 lunches, 1 dinner and 1 breakfast at the Lodge and were blown away by how wonderful the food was. The cocktails that came with lunches and dinner were amazing. Couldn't decide which was best- the strawberry martini or the mint pisco sour! The courses for each meal were perfectly paired. Henry came out after each course was served and we very much enjoyed him discussing his process. Rebeka assisted in serving the meals and she was kind, hospitable, and very engaging with the most lovely smile. Gonzalo was yet another employee who helped make our experience so wonderful. He spoke perfect English and accompanied us on a horseback ride. He was incredibly knowledgable about the area (flora/fauna/animals/geography) and taught us much about Chilean history. Henry, Gonzalo and Rebeka were amazing and after only 24 hours at the lodge, we were very sad to leave them. The grounds, main lodge, and our tucked away room were perfectly curated and so very warm and inviting. The pool and jacuzzi were private and well maintained. The orchard that was occupied by herd of sheep made for a magical vista. Massages were booked with only a few hours notice (therapist was wonderful) as was the horseback ride. This tucked away paradise in the canyon is worth every penny.…
Pro : - very nice welcoming staff and 'chef de cuisine'. - big lovely garden and orchard - very peaceful and quiet, swimming pool and seats - groundfloor room with little private terrace - - very cosy common spaces with several woodstoves - the beautiful setting of the lodge in a magnificent valley - lovely diner and breakfast - excellent location for visits to 'Embalse en Yeso', 'hike to the San Francisco glacier'(trail not yet open on Nov 2 and 3, 2017 - bridge repair in progress), banõs Morales,.... Contra : - We had some problems entering the closed gate at the entry of the property. (We did 't have wifi in Chile to contact them) - No possibilty to diner a la carte. No menu=no prices.(no restaurants in the neighbourhood) - Room needs updating : wallpaper off the wall under the desk- wet spots in dressing - overpriced : 200 usd/ night without taxes (very nice breakfast included though)…
My husband and I spend a weekend at the Lodge. Amazing place, the rooms are beautiful and very private, we were the only guests or felt like it. The food and service incredible, high quality and very local. Its the perfect place for a honey moon! And outdoor activities! We loved it!
We came with my husband and baby for the weekend. The staff is super friendly. The food is marvelous ! The chef is a star :) The room they gave us is super big (bathroom too is big). We got 2 smaller beds and 1 big bed, plus a sofa, fire place.. all great ! I don't put 5 stars because 1 heater was not working properly in our room (still with the fire it was enough heat) and every time we need to open the gate (to go in and out with our car) we have to call the land line of the hotel. so for the price we are paying I would expect to have all perfect.
We first visited Lodge Andino as a couple for a day-trip as its a short drive from Santiago. We went on a horse ride up in the snow fields and saw 5 condors soaring in the sky! Upon our return we were spoilt with a delicious lunch and then relaxed by the pool. Years later we returned with our 2 kids (aged 4 & 8 yrs) and stayed one night. Again the food, service, hospitality was amazing. Highly recommended!
Our visit was superb from beginning to the end ... Henry prepared some amazing local dishes, Rebecca was super helpful and always available, our guide Aaron was very knowledgable and took us to some amazing places around... The property is truly in the middle of nowhere but feels cozy in every step the rooms the living room always working fireplace gardens and pool all taken care of to 5star standards. Make sure you book a massage session with Paulina too! she's a real healer, if you have any problems tell her if not just relax and let her work her magic! Truly magical place, can't wait to revisit.
The wine served in front of the fire place with the lamb lollipops started the afternoon off right. I fell in love with this place while eating a home cooked meal made on site, drinking great wine, and talking with the staff. Listen the the story of the woman who had a vision to build this place and understand how her whole family came together - entrepreneurial spirit that is inspiring to me! The horse back riding was an adventure too! LOVE this place and always will remember the adventure.
I came here as a day trip with a school group. It was definitely a nice break from all the site visits. We had a delicious lunch with pisco sours, wine, roasted lamb, roasted chicken, vegetables, quinoa salad and three traditional Chilean desserts. The presentation was very nice and they also served freshly made melon juices. After lunch we relaxed by the pool, the water was cold but refreshing. After this half our group went on a horseback ride and the other half went on a hike. Guides were great and had superb English. We did not stay the night, only rented one of the buildings they have available for retreats.
