My husband and I stayed here for about a week in March and we had the best time. We stayed in the standard room with a private bathroom and a sun terrace. The owners speak Spanish, English, and German. The included breakfast was good everyday and was easy to manage even when we had to leave early to go on... More

Hostal El Punto is a very good hostel! we stayed in a matrimonial room for 21000 which was cheaper compared to the south of Chile. Breakfast is very good and is included! The hostel consists of several beautiful patio's where you can relax and there is also a bar. Only disadvantage is the absence of a kitchen. You cannot cook... More

It would help to provide some aeration to this room - it was smelling terrible, the sheets didn't appear to be very fresh and with a whole family inside it was unpleasant to stay any longer. Breakfast wasn't very creative and low quality. Parking inside is good though. Also the owners appear to be friendly and approachable.

My friend and I arrived here after a long days motocycle riding and were delighted to find this sweet place. It is pretty, painted in Spanish reds and yellows, spotlessly clean, well located and run by a delightful team. Beatrice, the manager speaks English, German and Spanish at least and is most helpful.

The place is spotless clean. The staff are great. The breakfast is fantastic. It's included with the cost of your room. You can also order a dinner at night for a very low cost. I ordered dinner one night and it was great. They don't have a shared kitchen ,but they have a small fridge and microwave and utensils so... More

This great property, with lovely and different spaces was a delight to be in. Not a hotel, but a hostel-type accommodation with backpackers, modern hippies, world travelers, youths, and some old people like us. There are a few airy & light & large rooms, and a dozen or so smaller rooms, some with shared facilities. The "cafeteria" has very inexpensive... More

We stayed three nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The hostel is set round a number of delightful courtyards and has incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Excellent breakfast, and delicious snacks available later in the day. The room was perfect, and spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. We also had a lovely terrace.... More

El Punto was a great little hub in the middle of La Serena - the hosts of the guesthouse were always very friendly, helpful and relaxed. The room was great, we ended up getting a room for 6PAX (us being 3) due to availability but the price was still good and room was very charming. Breakfast is good, simple. Bread,... More

We loved it here. It is clean, calm and nice. Beds are comfy, breakfast is very tasty and staff very friendly. Price for a double room is the same as for two dormbeds: an excellent deal. Location is close to the busstation and the center as well. Highly recommended!

I unfortunately spent only one night at hostal el Punto in a private room, however the staff was very helpful in giving advice to organize my little time in la Serena , the place super clean and the patio amazing. The laundry service in the hostel is a huge plus and as was much welcome after few days in San... More
