We just spent two days at the Hacienda during the low season in August. I was nervous by the guide book's description of the road there from Vicuna but actually it wasn't that bad and the scenery was SPECTACULAR and well worth the few hair-raising inclines and turns. Added to the feeling of getting-away-from-it-all. When we got to the Hacienda...

It takes some effort to get there. We came in from the direction of Ovalle which is a lot less windy and narrow then Vicuna. The views are amazing both on the drive in and out if you continue on to Vicuna. The place is just a perfect Chilean dude ranch with lots of hiking trails, swimming holes and horse...

perfect place to totally rest and relax a couple of days... Old hacienda, beautifull and all very well maintained, in the beautifull semi desert Hurtado valley. Horse riding is the main destination purpose for guests. But it also has great hiking trails. If not, relax in the various places in the garden and nearby river. The rooms are very clean...

We spent a weekend camping at the Hacienda at the start of May. It´s in a beautiful location up in the hills. Although we didn´t have a car, the bus dropped us right outside. The campsite is around a 10 minute walk from the Hacienda itself, and is is a quiet little hideaway by the river. We loved being out...

A wonderfully relaxing place towards the top of the valley. The last 20 kms is dirt track but well worth the minor challenge to get there. Hosts very welcoming. Everything beautifully organized. Try out the hammocks in the shade, potter along the river, breakfast on the terrace, gaze at the mountains, go hiking, and wait for the flyover of parrots...

For somewhere so remote, the hacienda is very well appointed. The rooms are quite large ( I have to disagree with a previous review there) and pleasantly if spartanly furnished. Beds are quite hard. Again, unlike a previous reviewer, I had no quarrel with the bread, although Chilean pan amasado is not exactly the best in the world. The juices...

We stayed two nights at this hacienda/hotel. The place is charmingly decorated and kept impeccably clean. The rooms are not large but quite adequate. Bathroom has a shower and no tub, but everything is well kept and clean. Food was excellent, a very generous breakfast buffet and an excellent dinner. We always were offered freshly baked bread. Of course, given...

Hacienda Los Andes is a charming hotel tucked away in the desert topography that surrounds the small town of Hurtado. A long driveway leads to the entrance of the hacienda, decked in Spanish colonial mission style. The three young women who work there are German citizens who speak German, Spanish, English and French. One of them showed me to my...

We spent a wonderful weekend at the Hacienda Los Andes. It is a lovely hotel in a spectacular setting. We found the staff to be very warm and helpful, and we plan to go back next year.

“We paid the extra for the suite which was at the end of the building, particularly quiet and with a view across the valley.”

“We booked the suite and it did have a big bed (King) but I would not pay that much again for it. Other than the bed, the room was pretty spartan. I would probably book a room with twin beds (as the doubles are small) to be more economical and just as comfortable.”
