Hostal Nomade is without any doubt the most beautiful hostel I visited in South America. The place is an old and spacious house, which used to be the consulate of France. You can easily relax on the patio or in the livingroom where stands an old piano. Moreover, the place has a very functional internet and serves a very good...

This is quite an old and interesting place with some history. People were friendly and food was good. On the downside there is an old musty smell in the house. There are also many dogs living on the premises which kept barking all night. Sleeping was not possible. I therefore cannot recommend this place.

The staff was so friendly!!!! Like others have said, the old mansion is a bit run down but so interesting! They have a funny way of serving the breakfast! My room was big. The bed was great. I like those old house! The only negative for me was the rooster waking me up at 5 in the morning but i...

I am writing this review because of the enormous help I received from Christine the Lady who runs the hostel. The hostel is an old French consulate with huge rooms and comfortable beds. Breakfast which is included consists of Coffee or tea, some bread with jam, cheese or ham, a small cake and a yoghurt of some sort. Wifi is...

I stayed here July 2014 as part of a Pachamama Bus tour and found it to be a quirky little place to stay although in a need of some touch ups. It is basically a family owned mansion that they have decided to turn in parts to a hostel. They a big dining room which was great to have the...

We stayed here for one night and really didnt enjoy it. The old historic house which has been very beautiful at one time is now run down and tatty. Our bathroom(!) was dirty and I really didnt want to use it. The bed was the most uncomfortable on our whole tour and we slept in 30 including a night camping.Breakfast...

Extremely welcoming home. Dinner was tasty, and the bed was soooo cozy. The only down side is that the shower water pressure was horrible, but that is normal in Chile, and I would still stay here again.

We stayed two nights here in the low season. We emailed ahead and received prompt and helpful replies. We received a delicious welcome drink on arrival and one every other night of our stay. Plus the owners fed us cake for dessert one night. On the night we left, they let us keep our room until 10pm when we had...

I stayed at the hostal during traveling in Chile. If you visit La serena, Hostal Nomade is a great choice. Of course there are so many hostels and hotels in La serena. But almost of them are occupied and much more expensive than this hostel in high season. There are many public transportation from La serena to Coquimbo and vice...

This is a huge mansion with possibly the roomiest triple room I've ever seen. Wifi, toilets, and showers were all good. It was pretty quiet though aside from my tour group but I'm guessing there are not a lot of tourists come through town at the beginning of summer. The kitchen is adequate and common areas are well done. They...
