Stayed at their Superior Suite. Beautiful structure, great location and friendly staff! (Bathroom floor has no drainage so water floods easily. Romantic packages were a bit overpriced but it’s to be expected. Didn’t dampen the experience though!). Came during the low season so we basically had the entire place to ourselves! Definitely would come back :D

It was really great place to stay. Nice and relax and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I and my family were so happy to have place like this to stay during our trip. Also the location was really close to the city center and easy to go somewhere. High recommend

This place is a real gem. Andrea and the team do a remarkable job, in challenging circumstances. If you want a cheap, soulless, and airbrushed statement hotel, avoid it. If you place any value on character, charm, old colonial style luxury and friendly service, this is the place for you. We loved it, and working in 5 star deluxe hospitality in London, I know what I'm talking about. The big bullying hotel monstrosities close by, are trying their best to stamp all over La Villa. If you care about good and evil.....support this hotel, they are the good guys.

When I looked online I was going to book the top of the range room but it just couldnt be justified so I contacted the hotel directly to see if they had a standard room on the ground floor and yes they said they did so I booked it 11 months in advance. When we arrived hot and tired they said we were on the second floor and because it was Cambodia there was trouble with power outages. We were taken up to the third floor up tiny dangerous stairs to "A LOFT" which was under tiles roof.It was 38 degrees this day and was going to be hotter the next day.One small window. No airconditioning. The ceiling fan didnt work,no toilet paper and no wifi.We spent the day out as we couldnt go into our room and then the afternoon by the pool.No toilet paper in the toilets by the pool.We had dinner in the restaurant which was expensive and then went up to our dogbox and had to put wet towels all over ourselves to keep cool under the small pedistal fan they had kindly put in the room.Noisey all night from traffic. They promised to move us the next day into the room that I had originally booked. After speaking with all the other guests by the pool, they all had airconditioning and power the whole time.We were furious as this was the most expensive accommodation we had booked.Got into our room the next day to blissful air conditioning but the kettle didnt work.By then we had had enough and booked out a day early. The pool area was nice but with the heat the pool water was warm and there were black floating bits in it.I couldnt recommend it Im sorry.Worst experience and Im not a fussy traveler

I am sorry to disagree with many of the reviews, but this was our worst stay in our nearly month-long travels through Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Our room was dusty and the bathroom was in terrible shape -- even the bath linens were stained. The heat in Battambang was extreme, so there were many power outages throughout the city in the 2 days we were there. Certainly not La Villa's fault, but their generator served about 3 rooms, and ours was not one of them. The architecture is great, the pool is nice and staff are very sweet, though limited English is spoken, if that's important to you. Breakfasts are so-so, but I will admit we had been completely spoiled by stays prior to Battambang, where the breakfast -- typically buffets -- were outstanding. In my opinion, La Villa could be a great little gem, but sadly it's not.
