This is a town hotel, they have another one at the riverside. It is easy to go around the places nearby the town, for example, little bagan, Mrs. Popcorn, Shan Palace and mr. Food restaurant. When I was here, the wifi has a problem, hence you need to be at the hotel lobby to use the wifi. Breakfast is average if you were to compare with their riverside lodge. One special mention here is their front desk staff, Moon is extremely nice.

Stayed in a twin room for 3 nights. Budget accommodation (at a price to match) but clean and comfortable. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Breakfasts were good, food in the restaurant was OK. Tour company immediately outside was very helpful and provide a number of guided treks/cruises on the river.

We arrived in the middle of a power cut which we soon learned would happen every hour of our 3 day stay sometimes for up to 4 hours. We were then shown our shoebox of a room with no A/C which In 42 degree heat was a challenge. Due to the powercuts we could barely use the fan meaning we were sleeping in 40 degree heat. The windows could not close meaning the room was full of mosquitos and we were bitten. The area around the hotel was very noisy and you could hear drilling and people going through the bins at night. On the second night of Our stay one of our party came down with heat stroke due to the room being so hot and had to change to spend the night in the Mr Charles Hotel at 1am. Whilst it was slightly better due to the powercuts the A/C still barely worked. Over the next day two of our party were stuck in bed throwing up and no one from the hotel offered any kind of help. The only person who offered was a guide we had the previous day - who wasn’t even attached to the hotel. We wanted to leave the hotel ASAP as we felt the service was poor so we booked and paid for a bus for the next morning. We woke up 3 hours before the bus was meant to arrive. We walked past the reception multiple times and even asked the guy a few times when the bus would be here and he simply said it wasn’t here yet. At the time when the bus was meant to arrive we came out again asking where it was and he said he didn’t think it was coming anymore and that he had known this since 7.30am that morning. We asked him to arrange us another bus as we had a hotel booked for that evening and he was extremely unhelpful and said there wasn’t one until that evening. We had to really push him to call up the bus company and when we asked if there were any hotel taxis he said no (even though we had booked one to use on our stay already) and then later on said there was one but that it would cost $300. We continued to ask him to arrange a new bus and he proceeded to tell us we are the ‘worst guests’ he’s had in his very long 4 year career. When one of our party went outside he started badmouthing her to the rest of us and later when she asked for his name he said he doesn’t care if she complains about him because he will complain about her. His colleague told us he actually had made a mistake and hadn’t booked the bus so considering he had made the mistake he was adamant it wasn’t his problem and he refused to offer us any help and told us we simply didn’t understand. After all Of this, we went to have lunch which is open every day from 12-9pm and when we asked to order we were told the chef wouldn’t be here till around 2. From working in hospitality, you never speak to customers this way, you never badmouth them to the people they are with and you do not badmouth them to other staff right in from of them. We were told he didn’t care and we were offered no food or drink whilst we waited for 8 hours for a new bus. This is the worst hotel we have stayed in on our 6 week trip in Myanamar. I would recommend staying anywhere but here when you stay in Hsipaw. The staff clearly aren’t trained and are useless

It's the biggest business in the town. They have a guesthouse and right beside it another big house which is a hotel. They also own a lodge by the river. We stayed at the hotel which shares common areas with the guesthouse since they are together: restaurant and breakfast area. We rented a motorbike for 20000 kyats and were told to return it at 5 pm.( Expensive in comparison with other places we later learned) On the second night we got food poisoning with their vegetable tempura, spent all night very ill and so had to ask to stay another night. 1) when informed about the food poisoning none of the employees seemed to care. 2) Asked for higher pricefor the extra night for the room we had. We had to stay there another night because we were too weak but next day as soon as I felt better I changed to another place. They do organize trekking. They don't always turn the power generator on which means during dry season (40°/100F) it gonna be very warm in your room. Generally speaking it is an ok hotel but Mr Charles looks very cheap on some details.

Always helpful staff (especially the main guy who had great English), nice rooms, good breakfast, decent TV channels, but poor wifi in the rooms. Everything you need to make a visit comfortable, even with a doctor next door in case of illness.....(which unfortunately I was)
