get a spectacular view on the city and surrounding mountains at the Kumudra Hill hotel! Service is perfect, food excellent and rooms will move you back to the early year of 19th century. If you decide to go trekking and have the chance, as we had, to have Mai Kyaw Hla for guide, you’ll get the best experience you can dream of to visit Shan territories! Someone who was born here and since then has walked across all these breathtaking landscapes. He knows a lot about local people, nature and more and always willing to share with people. More than a guide, a gift.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The view from the rooftop restaurant is lovely. The swimmingpool is nice. It’s a bit out of town, but the iffer free transport to and from the town. Good price-quality. Delicious food. But most of all we liked the superfriendly staff!

Stayed here for a long weekend during low season. Great hotel set in the beautiful Shan countryside. Staff were friendly and very accommodating (shoutout to our tour guide, Kham!), the room was lovely and the hot tub on the rooftop was definitely a highlight. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Hsipaw or surrounding areas. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We spent three nights at Kumudra, during low season. We enjoyed the pool, the view, the jacuzzi at sunset, the interiors and decorations and the rooftop restaurant with a diversified menu. The staff was very well trained, flexible and nice with our four kids! We have been living in Myanmar for one year and considering price-quality this is one of the best option we experienced. The two day trekking around Hsipaw in the Palaung villages is an authentic and unforgettable adventure!

After living a year and a half in Myanmar, discovering Kumudra Hill was a wonderful surprise! This boutique hotel is chic, clean and comfortable (and cheap!!). Each room is uniquely designed and furnished to fit the double windows that look out over the misty valley and swimming pool. The breakfast (home-made yoghurt, fresh bread, jam and eggs) is delicious. There is a rooftop jacuzzi (unheard of luxury in Myanmar!), that the staff fill upon request. The guest relations manager, Kham, is always there to arrange treks, advise on tours, take you out for the best coffee in town, translate where needed, or jam with his guitar- he made my stay carefree and easy. I returned twice to this hotel in a month (staying 10 days in total, once alone, once in couple), and must say its the best I've seen in Myanmar. Highly recommend for longer stays or simply weekend getaways out of Yangon!
