This is a wee guest house which does what it says on the tin. It's cheap cheerful and has an excellent quiet location in the old part of the town with the river down below. It's easy to access the town via perpendicular hills for the fit or longer roads for the more laid back We sacrificed a view for the ensuite option and the wee sitting out terrace was good for sipping wine and listening to the world go by. Old and new coexist and the place has an authentic feel in a lovely location. Many thanks too for picking us up a 2 train station - me at one my partner at the other as the train moved off and the doors closed as we were too tardy with disembarking!!

Great location and really cool host. Be warned if you’re in a rental car, or is very difficult to park near the hostel. The road is very tight and difficult to drive on. The host was able to recommend and organise for us an indoor garage at an additional cost of 10 lev a day. The bedroom was cosy and there is a tv. The host was able to provide us with small towels, an iron and there is a kettle and cups available if you want to bring your teabags like we did. Very affordable and it met our needs as we needed to be near the cathedral.

Az óvárosban, macskaköves kis utcácskában, hagyományos, szépen felújított ház, kis udvarán/teraszán szőlőlugassal...kedves hely, barátságos tulajdonossal....tiszta, egyszerű, ízléses szoba...nagyon kedves hely, visszatérünk, ahányszor csak lehet.... In the old town, in a cobbled small street, a traditional, nicely renovated house, on its small courtyard / terrace with grape juice ... nice place, friendly owner ... clean, simple, tasteful room ... very nice place, we return as often as you can .. ..

An old family house converted to a small guest house. It is in the best location, on Gurko Street, an old cobbled street in the Old Town, near the main shopping street and an easy walk to the Fortress and to the Etap bus stop. Front rooms upstairs have a great view across the river to the Four Kings Monument. Accommodation is basic but perfectly clean. A tiny, shared kitchenette has microwave, fridge, sink and dishes. Several rooms share just one wet-room with shower and toilet. (I think there is also a room with private bath but without the view). The room key was an antique iron one, a bit difficult to turn. Definitely good value for money and part of the experience of this historic town.

Dear Christine, thank you for these kind words! It was a pleasure to help you discover our old historical and very beautiful Veliko Tarnovo. Location and cleanliness are two of our main strengths and I'm glad you just recognized them. Yes it is just like you said, when i renovated this 150 + years old house i was trying to preserve her true spirit ( wooden windows, wooden doors, iron keys and etc). I do hope to welcome you again!! Best regards, Lazar! (One important note for the tourist, the transport companies changed their stations and now BIOMET is the company that stops closer to our house)
