My wife and returned on 2 July from a two-week all-inclusive TUI holiday at this hotel. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay but, although advertised as ‘4 star’, the most I would award to this hotel is 3.5 stars, as others have noted. The hotel itself is quite large, spacious, clean and in a good state of repair. Our room (with balcony and view over pool and sea) was spacious and comfortable, with good maid service. There is a large outdoor pool (with ample sunbeds) and a warmer indoor pool and hot jacuzzi. The bar, lounge and other amenities are adequate and comfortable enough. There is very little ‘entertainment’ – aside from the noisy and juvenile antics of the Animation team which interrupted the morning and afternoon sunbathing. The location is convenient for local attractions, with the historic old town about 15mins walk away. Both this and Sunny Beach etc are easily reached by the frequent buses from the stop outside (flat fare of 2 or 3 leva). There are at least two sandy beaches within easy walking distance, but umbrellas and sunbeds must be paid for. The beaches slope very gradually into the sea. It is quite easy to walk along the sand to Sunny Beach – shorter than going by road. The hotel staff are generally friendly and quite helpful, but there is very little ‘tourist information’ provided in the hotel, or indeed elsewhere. Bulgaria does not seem to make much effort to ‘sell itself’. We did find, by happy chance, the excursions run by Vangel Shimov, who operates out of five offices in Sunny Beach. As he is the actual operator, there is no mark-up on his prices as seems to be common through other agencies. Our full-day excursion to Sozopol and Burgas (including lunch and a boat trip in a nature reserve) was excellent, with a very informative guide, at a cost of 56 leva (£25) per head. Pick-up from and return to the hotel was included. The biggest disappointment was the food; we heard a number of complaints. Although a fair range of hot and cold dishes was on offer at breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is very little variety day-to-day and most of the hot food was, at best, lukewarm and rather bland. Why provide a fine range of cold meats and cheeses at breakfast but not to accompany salad at lunchtime? And the rather temperamental tea/coffee machines took a while to master and then to use. On the plus side, ice cream and soft drinks were readily available, and these and burgers etc are also offered by the poolside bar. A stay of a week or more entitles guests to one à la carte dinner (choice of two menus), which proved to be better food but was still lukewarm and in portions too large to be finished. Be careful if changing money into leva. Most ‘Change’ offices only show the higher figure for selling Lev, which is misleading. We found a jeweller in the old town who offered 2.20 leva per pound – about the best available anywhere in the area. And be aware that, although Bulgaria is a ‘cheap’ country, most items apart from food and drink cost at least as much as in the UK. Towards the end of our fortnight, the hotel became fuller and seemed to be gearing-up for high season, with a slight improvement in the meals and some so-called entertainment in the evening. All things considered, a modestly-priced, enjoyable and relaxing break for us but we would not come again as neither the area nor the hotel has enough to offer.…
Charlie and The Animation Team have been fabulous. Had a number of fun days and nights with them. Great with the Kids also. Highly recommended 10/10 Bar staff friendly also and got to know our drinks off by heart after going back time after time
Booked this hotel through Jet2 and was my kids first holiday abroad (5&7) was promised kids club, entertainment etc etc. Firstly I never write reviews but feel like I need too. The hotel was nice and clean, rooms big and spotless with a good bathroom bath and shower which was very clean. The maids came everyday which was excellent. Now the bad points: There was no kids entertainment during day or at night, so don’t get sucked into believing there is. The animatiors were more interested in getting the adults to play games and most were drinking games.. so so that one of the reps were getting drunk in shift or turning up hungover? Not someone you would want round your children. Reception staff, we’re not helpful at all, a few of them had next to no knowledge of main things like bus stop for water park which was just over the road or where any tours or water sports etc were. ( there’s a shop just up from the bakery if you need this information) Hotel manager a woman with blonde hair shoo’d my daughter out the way when we were standing at reception getting our bands changed as the chip didn’t work. The food was terrible, we had to eat out most nights thankfully it was cheap enough to do so but others book AI so you don’t need too. Cold, new food dumped on top of old food. No fresh juices always fizzy. Pool bar - can’t fault it had snacks from 10-4 ranging from hot dogs burgers and ice creams. we’re tasty and we would eat these as we knew dinner was going to be terrible. ALL IN ALL, if your looking for a cheap get away this would be perfect for you, but I would not advise for kids or family’s. No kids entertainment at all and food selection for kids not great either. This is an honest review, as I said at the start I only write reviews of really bad experiences or good experiences.…
We have just returned from a week in this 3/4* hotel in Bulgaria, travelling as a couple. As with any review I write, I try to be as open & honest as I can, from my/our point of view. The reason I say 3/4* is that the hotels rating is 4*, Jet2’s rating 3.5*. I have travelled to many different countries, staying in many different hotels & would honestly rate this closer to a 3*. The hotel has a lovely pool (although pretty cold) with plenty of sun loungers. I’m pleased to say that we didn’t need a 5am alarm in order to get a lounger, whatever time you came down there were plenty available. The pool bar is ace with a good selection of drinks. They also serve “snacks” here from 1100-1600 daily. These are things like hot dogs & burgers which are really good & filling. Had them a couple of times for lunch. They also have ice creams during the same timeframe. The staff here are really friendly & aim to please. Toilets are down lots of steps which isn’t helpful for those with disabilities. I would go into the hotel & use the reception toilets as this was much easier to access. The main restaurant serves buffet for 3 main meals of the day. There tends to be a decent selection of salads, meat/fish & pasta dishes, with the usual chips etc for those less adventurous. The food isn’t always piping hot but there is a microwave to use if needed. There are 4 drinks machines for those wanting tea/coffee, but the cups are all stored at one machine with a huge queue. Grab your cups & head to the other side of the restaurant where three alternative machines can be used instead. The Al ‘a’ carte restaurant is only open Tuesday & Friday & only 2 choices of menu which needs to be pre-booked. It was nice to be able to sit & have the food bought to you instead of having to fight off some of the other guests who don’t believe in queueing, but the food isn’t really the best. 2 other families got up & walked out after the starter - guess they didn’t like what they’d ordered 🤷🏻♀️ The rooms are a fair size. Limited storage for clothing etc. The A/C doesn’t really work unfortunately. We had a sea view room. Lovely views but no sun on the balcony all day sadly. This is where you’d be better off overlooking the road if you like to sit on the balcony. There is a small hairdryer in the bathroom but probably better to bring your own as it’s not very powerful. There is a small TV with 2 or 3 English speaking channels (mainly news). A small fridge is also supplied but no tea/coffee making facilities. The entertainment programme is very limited. 3 youngsters (looked no older than teens) giving their best shot to get people joining in throughout the day, but not much on in the evening. The lobby bar has a good selection of drinks and the main bar lady “Inna” speaks limited English but is so friendly & helpful. Really couldn’t do enough to help & worked really hard, long hours every day. All in all, I would say that most of the staff are friendly & helpful. The hotel is in a pretty good location. Short walk to the beach (from street, not accessible from the back of the hotel). The small tourist train stops at the back for rides into Nesebar old town & Sunny Beach, if like me you struggle with too much walking. During one of the bad weather days I had a Turkish Bath & massage in the spa. Highly recommend this if, like me you enjoy this sort of thing. 1.5 hour treatment for €50. Definitely worth it in my eyes compared to what I’d pay at home. For a “cheaper” holiday I would recommend this hotel. Don’t come expecting 4* & you won’t be disappointed.…
Agree with everything amblealan has mentioned in their review, extremely good value, plenty of choice at every meal, lovely room with space and storage and privacy, city facing rooms get sun on balcony until sunset - the rooms you don’t pay extra for with Jet2 bus stop outside the door, flat easy walking locally and in Sunny Beach which is mainly pedestrianised/promenade - not too busy at the moment during daytime, but may not be for everyone in high season, but great to see and massive beach area all very well kept. Had a lovely safe holiday here and would recommend. The Ukrainian women and children on site made the hotel a lot busier than expected for the time of year, neither the hotel or Jet2 gave us any information about the arrangement.
I visited this hotel for 1 week on the 13/5/22 and was not expecting much due to the money i had paid for AI, but what a surprise. The hotel and my room (401) where spacious and spotless. The staff fom the mangeress, reception, bar staff, waiters, bellboy, maids were fantastic, efficent, friendly and would do anything to make your stay pleasent. The entertainment team only consisted of a bubbly, chatty lad and lass, who where great. The hotel position is perfect for walking into old Nessabar, across the road from the main shopping street and an excellent supermarket in among the flats with bus stops just outside for Old Nessabar or Sunny Beach (2 Lev for any distance). Of course there is negatives the entertainment is low key, the food is on the cold side (has a microwave) and the drinks are local most people had no complains, with a extra cost for imports. There is 300 app Ukraine refugees staying there who are leaving the hotel at the end of May which some miserable people complain about, but they did not bother me or effect my holiday one IOTA as they are not involved in the AI services. Hopefully for their sakes they can soon return home but if not i will be still going back to this hotel In a nutshell if you want mayor drink brands, evening entertainment shows, more food options (there are very cheap resteraunts locally) pay extra and go to 5 star hotel but the welcome and service will not be better…
Fantastic place! Waiter Kevin is very friendly and professional :) beautiful views, nice atmosphere and tasty food. For sure we will come back soon and will recommend the place to our friends. See you soon :)
We stayed for more than a week in this hotel. It is very nicely located between the old town of Nesebar and a very short walking distance from the beach (10 km long or more). The hotel was very clean and maintained in very good condition. It needs to be put into more up to date state regarding the furniture and the overall feel of the rooms and the restaurant. The swimming pool is great and the whole kids and garden area are very nice. We only ate the breakfast, which was kind of industrial type and I did not enjoy it. The hotel was extremely crowded. The staff were nice, except at the reception where they could be more smiling and warm. The parking was a complete chaos and even if they say that you have a free parking, that is not true if the parking is full and you have to leave your car in a pubic parking and pay a charge. Basically, there is no management of the parking space and I saw some irritated people, including myself. The views from the balconies are very nice. Overall, this is a good hotel which can become excellent with some better management and some investments in the rooms and the restaurant.…
We have stayed as family of 4 for a vacation. Facilities have been regularly cleaned and looked after. Staff is polite and professional. Great choice of freshly cooked food to suit every taste. George and entertainment team kept everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves. Great place to stay overall!!!
We arrived shortly after 5 pm.The receptionist looked on her computer screen and said"this has been cancelled ,I replied "No it has not "she took my confirmation and went out of the back leaving an empty desk and a queue forming, when she came back she told me that my bank card was invalid!!!!(I had paid my last hotel bill with the same card earlier that day)this was all said loud enough for the 10 or so people waiting at reception to hear,my friend then asked for the manager, the manager arrived and again she repeated that my bank card was invalid I told her it was not ,she went off and was gone for about half an hour when she came back ,she said that she could offer us rooms, and I could use the card.At no time was I offered an apology, but was asked to pay straight away, which I did this, the following day we went to check-out and was asked to pay again!!!.Quite clearly the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Not an apology in sight…
