Disappointing for the amount of money we paid! I don't understand why people rate this hotel as excellent. The view is not all! Pay attention when you book it. The thing that bothered us the most was the cleanliness and the lack of anti covid measures. - the staff was not wearing a mask inside the hotel or the restaurant. - there was only one sanitizer at the entry of the hotel, nothing on the table. The tables were not disinfected. - glasses and plates (at breakfast time) were not entirely clean, they still had some stains. - towels and sheets looked clean, but with stains.... - when we arrived, we wanted to have lunch at the hotel, so we were told to go to the restaurant. When we went there, there was nobody and no one came to ask us what we want to order. We went somewhere else. Overall, staff was really not welcoming and not even saying hello. We felt like we were intruding. Location: this is the only good thing. It is on the beach, the view is amazing, close to the old Nessebar, where you can walk and visit the ruins or shops. Nearby there are a few restaurants, but they are expensive (attention if you want a nearby restaurant, avoid Chevermeto (with live music evening) - as they robbing the tourists. You may try Niko or you may go to the old town, where there are plenty of restaurants). We didn't find a proper supermarket nearby , but you can find water or drinks even by the beach. Room: room was big enough for what we wanted, with a balcony and sea view. There are some additional blankets if you want to use it. Air Conditioner works fine. There is no iron and the TV has only a few channels. No mini bar, but there is a fridge you can use for your own drinks. Bathroom: we had a bathtub. Water was OK - no issues. There was a small soap for hands, but the soaps were not completely sealed, so we didn't use it. We had our own. There was also a recipient for shampoo and shower gel , but we didn't use it. Breakfast - pretty disappointing for a 3 star hotel. Not much to chose from: there are eggs, bacon or sausages, cheese and salami or ham. Then there are fruits and some pastry. You can have tea, coffee - from the machine and some juice - also from the machine. Overall, we would not come here again. There are other hotels which also offer the umbrella and sunbed on the beach (included in the price). Pay attention that in general there are no anti COVID measures in Nessebar. Nobody is wearing a mask inside.…
Everything was perfect. Way more than I expected from 3* hotel. Breakfast was very good and various. Staff was kind and helpful. Good coffee at the bar. Hotel is located on the first coastline - amazing view from the balcony. With the elevator you can go directly (!) to the beach. Easy access from/to the airport. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel, from where you can take a bus to Burgas (7BGN) or use a free transfer to the Aquapark. Close to all the attractions and Old Nessebar. Nice bars and restaurants around. I had a really good stay.
We had a room high up, loved having a balcony and the wonderful view of the sea and to Old Nessebar. Wonderful to take the elevator straight down from breakfast to the beach! Location is ok, breakfast is the same everyday and not very well.
We have just returned from a two week stay at the Mirage. The rooms are good with excellent sea and Nessebar views. The beach is just yards away. Value for money is fantastic. The staff are so helpful, friendly and sociable and really looked after us. We had an excellent stay and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel and nearby Old Nessebar. We went on a bed and breakfast basis which allowed us to try the true Bulgarian cuisine in New and old Nessebar. The old town is about ten minutes stroll away and you can get a bus to Sunny Beach if you must - we didn’t rate Sunny Beach at all as it wasn’t to our taste. The old town, on the other hand, is a hidden gem. And the hotel provides the opportunity to relax and enjoy a really good holiday. It was our first visit to Bulgaria and we will certainly be back - and the Mirage will be our hotel of choice.…
Stayed here for a week arriving on 10th Sept, check in was straight forward and we were allocated room 307, walking into the room we were impressed by how big it was, okay no drawers but plenty of wardrobe space, bathroom dated but immaculately clean. The best thing was the view, the room as do most overlooks the beautiful beach and sea, stunning so close you could hear the waves hitting the beach. Now the but, breakfast is served in a dimly lit room, with the most miserable staff I have ever seen, food for buffet breakfast was ok, usual eggs, bread etc etc. Didnt have dinner in the hotel. The bar sells at cheap prices not rip off hotel prices and the staff are helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I have just returned from a weeks holiday in Nessebar staying at The Hotel Mirage . This is our first holiday in Bulgaria. The hotel is in a lovely location being right on the beach and a lift will take you down to beach level which has a snack bar on the same level. We didn't try the food at the snack bar so can't comment on it. Our room was a good size with a partial sea view . The room itself was clean and had everything you needed including a minibar and kettle . Disappointingly the coffee and tea were not replaced at all during our stay . The beds were comfortable and the rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels etc. The bathroom was fine if a little outdated and toiletries were provided. The hairdryer was fine for dying hair but not any good for styling so I'm glad I took my own! We booked bed and breakfast and the breakfasts were very disappointing. There wasn't a lot of choice and the cooked breakfast looked unappetising to me. The coffee machine didn't work on one occasion and there was no fruit juice on another. The cereals were in plastic containers and people were putting their fingers inside as the cereals were not coming out so that put me off having any. The reception and bar staff were friendly and helpful but the breakfast staff were very reserved and didn't really interact I think most of them spoke little English. If asked a question they would try and help but the dining room lacked atmosphere to me. The hotel was very clean and there is a lovely Terrace to have a drink or snack on and it overlooks the beach so is great. The pool is lovely and the surrounding area is clean and tidy, has plenty of sun beds we didn't have a problem finding one whatever time we went to the pool. We did go on the beach on one occasion but didn't use the sun loungers so I'm not sure how much they cost to use. We walked to the old town of Nessebar on a number of occasions, it is only about 10 - 15 minutes walk from the hotel. It is well worth a visit with beautiful buildings and lots of cafes and shops . On one occasion we travelled back by the Noddy train but if you do this be careful as it drops you off the other end of Nessebar to the hotel so it's quite a walk to get back! We used the local bus to travel to Sunny beach which only cost about £2.00 and travelled back to Nessebar by the sea taxi but on the day we used it the sea was very rough so it was a bit scary ! The bus stops are close to the hotel but I wish the hotel would have a list of bus timetables and destinations as it is quite difficult to work out at the stops. The reception staff don't seem to be able to give this information which is a shame. There are some nice places to eat around about the hotel we had some lovely meals and I'm sure if you walked further in to Nessebar there would be even more variety! If you are looking for a relaxing beach holiday this hotel is ideal it has everything you need . I would definitely return here . …
Spacious hotel room with comfortable bed. Bathroom clean if a bit dated with a bit of the seal round the bath missing but rectified after a couple of days. Shower worked well, very hot water and powerful enough too. Hairdryer available. Minibar, tea making facilities and plenty of wardrobe space. The view from the balcony is amazing (floor 1) with lots of sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach at the hotel at a cost but further along is a free beach. Friendly staff at the hotel reception and bar and the hotel is well kept. We were bed and breakfast and ate out in old Nessebar most nights. Breakfast wasn't that great but have had worse too.
We stayed at this hotel last year, but didn’t take the time to leave a review. Based on last year, my rating would have been 5 stars, which is why we came back this year, but standards have slipped since then. The hotel is in a great location with a true sea view and lovely balcony to enjoy a glass of wine in the afternoon. Short stroll to the old town with lots of restaurants to choose from. Also safe to walk at night. However, trying to get into the room was a joke. We had to have our key re-programmed several times and it still took several attempts each time to enter. The shower, although having a good pressure, barely got to lukewarm in the morning, but slightly warmer in the afternoon. Room servicing left a lot to be desired - the sheets weren’t changed during our weeklong stay and cups and glasses were never washed. Most days, it looked like all that had been done was a towel change and sheets straightened. WiFi was really slow on the 3rd floor. Breakfast still good, with plenty of items to choose from, but hot food not really hot enough. All in all, disappointing after last year.…
This hotel has a fantastic location right on the beach and just a 10 minute walk from the picturesque old town. We had a sea facing room and you could hear the waves crashing on the beach while lying in bed at night. The beach is a long stretch of lovely sand and is cleaned every day. The hotel itself is clean and the staff are friendly. They have a bar near a terrace, where you can sit and drink the cocktails which the bar staff are very good at making. Breakfast is a buffet style with everything you could want to eat. The head chef is very good with different choices every morning. All in all a lovely place to unwind and relax.
The Mirage Hotel has some very good points - Its position, on the beach and within walking distance of both Nessebar old town and the new town is excellent. The facilities in the hotel are also good - pool, bar, free sunbeds, snack bar on the beach are also a plus. The rooms may be basic, but the view is stunning - who couldn't love the sight and sound of the sea all night! The bathroom was dated, but everything functioned well -the shower was not feeble as some can be! Plenty of space to spread toiletries etc. The fridge, containing mini bar items was useful for storing milk etc. The kettle was a handy item - we had brought our own tea and coffee. The breakfast was pretty good - a selection of most breakfast foods every morning, including pancakes if you were on time! The terrace bar was a lovely space to sit at and have a drink at the beginning or end of every evening. The only issue with the bar was that it was not clear whether it was supposed to be waiter service or you ordered and took your drinks yourself from the bar - this seemed confusing (and frustrating) to some guests who sat outside waiting to be served. We were quite happy to go to the bar to order our drinks, and often the barperson would say -'I will bring them to your table', other times we would carry our own to sit down. This could be a management issue in that the bar staff were not given clear direction in what was expected. The safety deposit box was located at reception and cost around 4 lev a day, but this seems common in Bulgarian hotels. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Mirage, and would choose this hotel again if we returned to Nessebar.…
