The hotel is located right on the seafront, but the hustle and bustle of the street is not annoying. The hotel lobby is very inspired decorated. The rooms are large and clean. Maybe a little old-fashioned. The beds are comfortable. A minus is brought by the breakfast that does not rise to the pretensions of a 4-star hotel. Coffee is bad - a long colored water, butter is actually margarine, honey is a sweet syrup, jam is just a poor quality jelly. The rest of the breakfast food was ok. At the hotel restaurant, in front of the hotel on the seafront, the food was good.
I visited this hotel during new year holidays. Rooms were clean, with a nice sea view. Rooms were heated verry good (one night i slept with balcony door open). The hotel also has a free parking wich is big. Staff was friendly and polite. At ground floor it s a bar and a restaurant with good prices and services. Overall a nice experience.
Although the end of the season, Balchik is a beautiful place. I was travelling with my parents, for a family together weekend, and our choice was Hotel Mistral. We've been here before and we always had a good time. Location is absolutely superb: by the seaside, close to all restaurants and shops, close to the beach and Palace. Lots to do and see. Hotel has beautiful seaside view rooms that you madly fall in love with. For us, the fact that they have a parking right behind the hotel is an excellent choice. Food is good, staff smiling and welcoming and beds are very comfortable. Hotel Mistral is a very good choice. We enjoyed our holiday. Thank you
+ The room was very big, the balcony very big + The position of the hotel was very nice - The clean from the bathroom was not ok - The clean from furniture was not ok - The breakfast was not so varied
Great location for this hotel. Very comfortable beds and easy access to the promenade. Ask for a front facing room for great views of the sea and marina. Staff helpful and easy parking at the back of the hotel.
My wife and I have just returned from staying here for 10 nights. When we first arrived which was early hours of the morning we were a bit concerned as we were dropped at the back of the hotel in the car park which looked like a battle zone, also we had 2 concrete flights of stairs to negotiate with 2 suitcases and 2 sets of golf clubs and in darkness was difficult. However having made it to reception we were greeted with a friendly face and made welcome. Our room was clean and the best thing was the view overlooking the harbour. This hotel is situated in a great place with all the restaurants and beach all easily accessible. The staff were friendly and helpful. Now the downside. The breakfast was appalling and unfortunately had to go to to a place called Hemingway’s literally 50yds down the road which I recommend the English breakfast and food was excellent. To my surprise the staff actually agreed that the breakfast was not good and is a common complaint, person actually told us that the breakfast is not good before july10th as that is when the season starts. The so called fried eggs were so rubbery I am sure they would have have bounced of the wall and sometimes u were offered a omlette that was so thin you could slide it under a door. We were not offered any sausage or bacon it was just mainly ham and cheese and Evan that was not good. There was cereal but I am not a cereal person. If the staff agree with you about breakfast you would think something would be done, so if you stay here my advice is go to Hemingway’s.…
(+) - the room was big and cozy - the bed (queen size) was excellent and the mattress was almost divine. - the room had seaview and the balcony was big enough for 4 people to sit and talk/drink/etc... - the staff was great and helpful - the cleaning service was very good - the price was fair for a 4 star hotel (-) - the heat selector in the room was broken so we cannot adjust the temperature. We slept with the balcony door open. - the carpet was dated and there were some discoloration due to the sun. - the door didn't had card access but the classical key.
This was our second visit to this hotel,we had a lovely clean room with a sea view and large balcony that lacked dividers for privacy. The beds were comfortable but didn't have protectors on the mattress or pillows. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly, the young girl looking after the bar was running around serving both inside and outside, the bar was left unattended when she grabbed a break as there wasn't anyone else to take over, that was the same with the reception. The restaurant was a disappointment, the steak wasn't cooked as ordered, breakfast was basic and the hot food was nearly cold. The slim waiter made us feel very unwelcome and wasn't a bit pleasant. You can drink as much coffee as you like but are charged for English tea.after our breakfast experience we ate out in the evening.we wouldn't eat again here. …
Me and my wife used to come every year for our anniversary and this year was no exception. However, we were shocked to find that it was like the place wasn't managed anymore and left without any form of supervision. In short: - Extremely rude staff - No customer service skills whatsoever - Rooms and halls are now dated and haven't been refreshed since built - Breakfast is simply disgusting no other word for it - Food in the restaurant is good but we got ignored by the waiters for an hour during our dinner - No more professional and friendly staff - Hotel is not 4 stars by any stretch of the imagination. And not good value for the price they charge. And it so was a few years ago.
I was here as a member of a choir, with large group. Hotel is in the center of sea promenade, close to everything. It has large parking on the back. Interior is nice, the bar and restaurant also looks nice. Rooms were nice and balconies also. This hotel is really good and I enjoyed staying. We had a lunch two times inside your restaurant Francis Drake, and it was very tasteful. Terrace is nice. Now some critics. Breakfast was good but not what I expected for 4* hotel. It's more like 3* in EU west. Restaurant (Francis Drake) stuff was divided into: nice and rude. A lot of our members had complaint on one of your waiters. There are some details that you should fix (do not place bikes and tools in congress hall, some marks near every room door written by felt pen, tiles ready for installation put into hall). Maybe you have some repairs going, but the material and tools could be places somewhere else. When I got into room, toilet was not clean. Everything else was clean. Overall, do not get confused, this is very nice hotel in Balchik, on a great location with very nice room. WiFi was excellent, fast and air-condition was working great! Smaller beach is 200 m on your right and larger (main) beach is 500 m on your left.…
