Myself and my partner are regular visitors to the complex, normally staying in one of the apartments. Over the last 2 to 3 years, including this year, the hotel lobby bar and the clubhouse bar have not been open as advertised on their website.
We'be been here for the Easter and we had a fabulous time! Lots of nice activities for the kids, good food, lovely SPA and wonderful staff. We relaxed and enjoyed every minute. The grounds are gorgeous, all clean and green and the view of the sea makes it truly wonderful. The staff is also a big plus, as we've been to lots of hotels but only few with staff like this. Very polite, discreet and yet involved. From the housekeeping indonesian team, to lovely reception boys and girls, from Vera (the animation lady who was very nice and patient with the kids) to chef Ferhat U. (Who made a lovely cooking class with the kids). Also the restaurant foreign staff (+ Neluțu Stan - very nice and helpful) and the interactive kitchen team, they all did their best to make us feel comfortable. Ah, the pool guard as well, nice people. We truly recommend this lovely hotel, we will come back for sure, as often as we can. Thank you so much for everything and congratulations! …
morning buzz of repair works would wake you and midnight football games would dominate in otherwise peaceful environment. It is a pity anyone can book a play ground at any time in a 5 star Golf & Spa complex and create as much noise pollution as feels like. Obviously this is not the peaceful and relaxing place as it could have been if managed with care and attention.
I don’t know what century this hotel is, but it DOES NOT have Wifi in the rooms! Unbelievable!the staff did not do anything to fix this no matter how many times we complained to the reception. The hotel beach where you can only go by shuttle looks horrible. Hotel looks nice but if you can’t get in touch with your friends and family or work remotely from there because you thought they had wifi as advertised, then what’s the point?
This is definitely NOT a 5* hotel! Outdated rooms with zero maintenance done anywhere in the hotel. Rooms with cracked and dirty walls and very dirty furniture, very superficially cleaned. Shower was not working properly. Toilet was together with the shower, so you get your feet wet when using the toilet, since water from shower drains towards toilet! Wet spots from recent or older water leaking on the walls The Bulgarian authorities should take all necessary measures against this “5 * stars” poor establishment. Prices are for 5* hotel, but quality – maybe 3*. Better avoid this place.
We booked a villa directly on the hotel web site. The room was poorly cleaned and in very bad shape.Images talk for themselves. There is no internet in the room (apparently it is mentioned on the hotel website). We called the reception. We were invited to commute to the main hotel lobby 1 km away.
The hotel it's wanderful . The main restaurant Alexandra it's full of choices for all inclusive and the food it's more than perfect , the team that works there it's verry carefull with tourists and all you need they try to serve you . The rooms are always clean , pools ans spa areas are permanently cleaned and all the staff it's friendly and always to serve your needs . Clearly i will go back to the resort soon !
I hardly write reviews, but really felt the need to write this one as I almost cancelled my trip after reading the other reviews & I'm so glad I didn't!! I would consider myself quite well travelled visiting and staying in over 56 countries. Travel a lot for work and have stayed in some of the nicest hotels and locations around the world. When you arrive in countries like Bulgaria, and not being disrespectful, there are areas of development and culture that are different to other places in the world. Which is why I chose this trip. If you expect this hotel to be a glitzy shiny all new bells and whistles & very international, then you may be disappointed, but I would encourage you to compare price tags as well. We were 2 adults and 2 teenagers travelling. 2 per room with amazing views of the black sea. When you arrive at the airport, your driver will be waiting outside due to covid restrictions. We travelled to the hotel in an old but very nice Mercedez and had a good chat and laugh with our driver. The room size was huge and although having a dated feel, it really turned back time for us and set a type of mood of how the rich must of lived back in the 90's. We loved it and it was great for the kids to see and experience. For this trip we were hardly in our rooms, so it did more than enough for us and did the job. Beds were very comfortable showers and bath were huge and the balcony was also massive. Staff at both the hotel and clubhouse were super friendly and helpful. There are some staff that struggled with English, but always found someone to help. We decided to learn a few simple Bulgarian phrases and it made a huge difference in connecting each meal time, and it was fun for us as well. Bar & restaurant staff were always smiling and great, nothing was too hard for them and had regular evening chats after our rounds of golf. We had the all inclusive and unlimited golf package, and the all inclusive restaurant offered us more than enough variety for the three meal times, and it was nice to sit out around the pool on those nice warm evenings and enjoy a nice meal and drink. Again we weren't looking for any 5 star meals, we just wanted to be able to eat & drink when we needed. We didn't get the chance to try the other restaurants there. But the mussels we had were devouring!! The beach has a section for the hotel only, and quite large. I don't know what happened when I read previous reviews that it doesn't, but the shuttle goes right to the beach and also comes back to pick you up at different times. One thing I'll call out is that there is a little hut / bar / restaurant where we decided to try lunch, even though we had all inclusive back at the hotel, we ended up having lunch there nearly every day after our morning round of golf. The food was phenominal and very decent prices including drinks. Try the homemade lemonade after a swim, went down very well. If you can book a cabana the day before and get down to the beach prior to 11am you can enjoy a nice day down there and have the food delivered to you from this hut on demand as well. They are large and have sit down tables in them as well with sunbeds. The beach isn't your traditional waves beach, but its also isn't a flat balearic island beach other. Another tip, get a mouthful of sea water and see what it taste like. The beach was our go to after our morning rounds of golf. Super refreshing with sandy and rocky patches but the lifeguards on the beach can highlight where any rocks are in case. The golf was phenomenal. We took the unlimited golf package and its not some holiday course where you play and do what you want, they are by the book and ensure all rules and policies are followed. We got 1.5 games in per day on average over the week. Some days the heat was hard. The course was in great shape and the pro shop staff Desi and Tsvety always greeted us with a smile, a laugh and a good chat before tee off time, and were amazing the whole the week. We didn't do BlackseaRama but heard it was very picturesque. We did play a round at Thracien Cliffs, it was a similar feel to that of some of the beach side Portugal courses, sea views every hole, buggy compulsory and super challenging. Take spare balls ; ) We were after a holiday focused purely on playing a lot of golf and going for a swim in the sea. We needed a bed to sleep in and we didn't need anything fancy for this trip. In saying that, it went beyond our expectations and did more than what we needed. Great holiday, would definitely go and stay again for a golf trip. With flights included by far the best value for money for a golf trip. The only thing I would do different next time is try the other restaurants at dinner time for a different dinner atmosphere.…
Outdated rooms with zero maintenance done anywhere in the hotel. rooms with cracked and dirty walls and very dirty furniture. unprofessional staff. Hotel does not have a beach on site, there is an absolute horrible beach in a 7 km distance from hotel which hotels offer you to be taken there eith a minibus if you book a sunbed one day before, we went there and left immediately after 2 minutes. The food is awful. Do not be fooled by the photos. Better avoid this place.
I will be honest to say upfront that my husband won our stay at Lighthouse in a golf competition. However we may well have stayed at some point as we were due a trip to the coast. We were impressed at first with the lobby and welcome on reception and first look at our room. The room was large but the first thing we noticed was poor air conditioning. The temperature outside was 35 degrees and the a/c couldn't handle that as the room faced west with the hot sun on it from 2pm onwards. We mentioned this at reception but though maintenance visited it was still warmer than we like. The bed, the bed linen, the duvet and the pillows were LOVELY!!! The very best part of the room and an essential point. Oddly the toilet is in the shower tray which made us giggle not sure why it's like that. Our safe didn't work and maintenance came twice and we were told it couldn't be fixed and that's that! We ate on the first night in the French and the starters were ok but mains awful, the duck was the tenders, the bit under the breast which is normally discarded. I asked for the duck pink and it came over cooked, i sent it back and it wasn't great 2nd time. My husbands lamb was small and not good and the sides were not good and over priced. We chose not to eat dinner again in the hotel after that. We felt there was a total lack of care in every part of the hotel, the staff were not attentive or smily except at the Greek bar. There was no sign of managers anywhere. My husband enjoyed his golf which was why we were there and we slept very well. My last and very serious point is COVID. Thankfully there is not pandemic at Lighthouse as not one member of staff wore a mask!! We saw the odd mask dangling from an ear but that was it. There was no social distancing at breakfast, it didn't feel safe at all. Above everything this was the worst part…
