I stayed with my mother at this hostel for a couple of nights. At first, I was concerned about the hostel environment, as it was her 1st time in a shared dorm room and she sometimes has a hard time sleep away from home. It was a rainy day when we arrived and the staff was very kind and patient...

Purple House was like a home away from home in Sao Paulo. I arrived at an unusal time and the staff were very accomadating and good-natured about it. Also did not speak much Portugues, but they helped me learn some, and had staff who spoke English and Spanish as well! The hostel was very clean, had good wifi, breakfast, tv,...

We were only in Sao Paulo for 2 nights but they were made easy by the staff at Purple Hostel. The one lady spoke perfect english and helped us with things to do and how to get there via transit. She even helped us to find websites for buying bus tickets in Brazil! Also- clean, comfortable, decent breakfast.

Enough English spoken to get by. Nice space, secure parking. Two beefs and to be honest they would not stop me going back but I would probably look elsewhere - particularly point 2. 1 in the male loo upstairs I as a tall guy found the space within the cubicle a bit tight. 2 the nearest place I found to...

I am sorry that was your experience. There are quite a few bars, restaurants and fast food options within 5 minute walk from the hostel. We will make sure to communicate that to guests - even when not asked - from now on. We have different rooms, and always have the option of the top bed in the bunk bed...
