What a fantastic stay! Dan and Alma, owners of Teton Teepee, are meticulous and detailed; it is so clear they pour all their pride and joy into this completely rebuilt and remodeled lodge. This is BY FAR the cleanest, most well-cared for hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are immaculate; completely new, spotless, and just plain cared for. You can see this is not a chain hotel where employees just "work there" and do the minimum required. This place is a reflection of the owners' investment in your stay.
Rooms are small - no TV, but well appointed and quality linens and beds. Shower is brand new - spotless and clean with good water pressure. There are other rooms available with a large-screen TV, a game room with a pool table, foosball, darts, ping-pong, shuffleboard, etc...The breakfast has hand-cut fresh fruit, fresh coffee and HOMEMADE muffins and bread. The room service is so good I felt guilty leaving anything out of place in the room. The subtle mood music, HUGE cozy fireplace in the center of the common main room, and Lizzy the resident lodge dog were just perfect. I don't know if Lizzy is a trained service dog, but she just made me and all the other guests smile and feel better as she wagged her tail for any pats she received. Alma encouraged us to bring our own alcohol/drinks and use their on-site bar, fridge, and glassware. Who does that?
The kicker? This stay cost us less than HALF what the other places charged during our 6-night trip to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. They should charge more.
Just a phenomenal experience. Book now before it fills up. Thanks Dan and Alma!

What a gem!!! I can’t say enough about the property and staff! Everyone is so nice and accommodating!! The hotel is so cool! It is decorated so appropriately for its setting. The rooms are just perfect!! The guest rooms are truly set up for rest/sleeping - very sparsely decorated and NO TV’s! The grounds and side yard running creek are the icing on the cake to initiate relaxation! Stay here - it’s great!

We stayed here because it looked really different from anywhere we had stayed before and wanted somewhere between Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons for 6 nights. We were a little over an hour from Downtown Jackson, about an hour and a half from Grand Tetons and 2 and a half hours from Yellowstone. We drove from the lodge about 2 and a half hours to the west entrance of Yellowstone on day 1 and spent the day seeing Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic and many other sites between. We left out the South Entrance and ate in Jackson at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar on the way back to the lodge. It was a really long day but we went back to Yellowstone again the next day. We entered through the South Entrance and went NE past West Thumb and Yellowstone Lake. We drove through Hayden Valley, through the north rim of Yellowstone to Mammoth Hot Springs. Be aware of the heights! I was terrified and so thankful my husband drove! We left out the west entrance after many more stops and had dinner in Montana at Bullwinkles. Food both nights was great. Million Dollar Cowboy was much more expensive but so delicious! I mentioned all of this because although the 2 days exploring Yellowstone were really long with alot of driving, the Teton Teepee Lodge was really a wonderful place to rest. Dan, the owner, gave us so many terrific and helpful hints on where to eat (Warbird Cafe) which was just down the road and the Teton Supply Co. to raft down Teton River. We saw a moose drinking close up and loved every second of that day. Dan even loned us his chairs for a free concert in Victor and told us to eat at the stands. He was right! The Thai food was awesome. The breakfasts every morning were made with "real food!" Homemade fresh muffins, hard-boiled eggs, fresh orange juice, cereals, coffee, teas and my favorite, the fresh cut fruit with blackberries, raspberries & blueberries! The lodge was one of the cleanest! You can tell their entire staff takes great pride in your room being not just surface clean, but truly cleaned. There is no a.c. but we opened our window and used the fan in the room. The twin beds we had were perfect for me but a little small for my husband. I am sure they have other sleeping options available to chose from. After another 4 days exploring The Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole, we were so tired and thankful to have such a cozy and quiet place to sleep. I loved the atmosphere and their dog Lizzie! She is a big dog but so very sweet! I really loved the Christian and serene music always playing throughout the teepee. Dan would let us sit in his chairs by a creek that runs past the lodge. If you are looking for somewhere peaceful, unique, pretty, clean and with so many personal touches then this is your place stay. I loved it!

A unique, well maintained lodge located on the main road between Driggs, ID and Grand Targhee, WY. Hosts and owners Dan and Alma (and lodge dog Lizzie) readily accommodated our group. Tasty hot breakfast every morning and use of the bar and fridge for our snacks and cocktails in the afternoons after full days of skiing and other nearby activities. Private bedrooms with bathrooms. Plenty of community space for socializing including around the massive center fireplace. Pool table, ping pong, cards, books and board games available. This was our first trip to the Teepee (we've skied Targhee numerous times), and we are ready to stay here again next year!

The Teton Tepee is an absolute gem, it feels like the best of what traveling used to be like before everything became corporate and standardized. Solid wood,
My daughter picked the Teton Tepee for me to stay when visiting her as one part of her grand plan to get me to fall in love with Alta WY/Driggs ID and move our whole family out there too. I can see why.
Many weeks are now permanently booked years ahead, by people who return repeatedly once they experience it, so if you can find availability, take it.
Part of the charm is location .. it's right along a river, close to Targhee, XC bike trails and XC ski trails. You can literally start an XC ski or XC bike trip from the lodge, and it's the closest lodge to Targhee.
The bigger charm is the central lodge is a a grand wooden yurt but solid wood and surrounded by 18 rooms. It's big enough you could keep entirely to yourself and that's just fine. But the grand central room and fireplace somehow turns a quiet nod "hi" to another guest into a conversations with amazing people. A fellow guest was a grandfather traveling by motorcycle across the US with his wife. No TV, plenty of games, tables, seats, fireplaces, books.
The place has a long history, e.g. you can see skis donated by Targhee Ski Patrol in thanks for long service and support. But it's recently updated by the new owners/hosts, and who can point you to the exact right trails to experience.

The minute we arrived, we were greeted by the owner and an adorable "lodge dog" who helped us settle into one of the most comfortable rooms ever! This was our last day of a twelve-day adventure. Staying here was like the sprinkles on a cupcake! I have never felt like I was at home in any other hotel or lodging. Staying here is well worth a look. Dan and Alma were the best hosts!

Lovely little gem in Alta Wyoming. The hosts are charming, the rooms comfortable and the communal fire pit led to very interesting conversations in the evening. Fresh baked goods for breakfast, once again the communal vibe in the morning was fun. Very close to Driggs which has some unexpected but very good restaurants.

If you want to experience the mountain outdoor lifestyle of Wyoming/Idaho ….Make sure to put this on your list of awesome places to stay! We are just leaving and can’t wait to return. From the idyllic creekside location with the Grand Teton backdrop to the cozy log lodge atmosphere you get to truly be one with the USA west. Dan and Alma are a wealth of knowledge for the local area be in hiking, eating out or anything you need to know about getting around. Breakfast is fresh and delicious fruits and home baked goods, coffee, yogurt and other yummy treats. We met so many people here at breakfast or around the fire pit and that makes it so much more than just a place to stay. Not commercial like Jackson and well worth the drive!!!

We had 3 incredible nights at this very unique hotel. Dan and Alma are your hosts. Very knowledgeable about the area and passionate about their place. The rooms have all been renovated with up to date bathrooms that have radiant heating. The beds are very comfortable and the whole place is spotless. It is communal living once you leave your room, but there are plenty of comfortable places to relax and hang out at. My favorite is the big red round leather couch around the large fireplace that is always tended to . There is also a pool table, ping pong table, poker table and a TV room. Breakfast is the highlight of the day with homemade muffins, banana bread, eggs, casseroles, yogurt, coffee, toast and fruit. There is a communal fridge and plenty of hot tea available. The hotel is conveniently located 7 miles from Grand Targhee Resort and 6 miles from the town of Driggs. We loved our stay here and can’t wait to return. If you are reading this and thinking about staying here do it fast because this place books up quickly! Thank you Dan and Alma for making our stay in Alta so memorable. FYI- We stopped here on our way to Jackson from Big Sky, worth it!

The only place in the area my husband and I will stay! It’s located at the base of Grand Targhee ski resort which makes it easy to wake up and grab some coffee and breakfast (which is provided) by the fire and then have an easy 10 minute drive up the mountain to get on the first lift. We drive to stay here multiple times every winter and will continue to come back just for this experience! Snowmobile trails are nearby with meadows up top and gives you access to backcountry skiing as well. Across the street there is a Nordic ski track which we love (and dog friendly)! There are also a few Nordic trails just 5 minutes up the road in the canyon which run along a beautiful creek. The lodge itself has very comfortable rooms as well as cabins if you like more privacy! I’ve stayed in each and they are both wonderful. In the main lodge there is a pool table, shuffle board, ping pong, a poker table, fusbol, board games and a movie room! When you are ready for a night cap by the fire after a long day of skiing you have a bar area and fridge to store your drink of choice. They are also dog friendly! Ours love to sit around the fire with us (it’s hard to get them to leave at the end of the trip)! The town of Driggs is only a short drive and has ski shops, great restaurants, a grocery store and all the other amenities you might need. Dan and Alma are wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and make it a wonderful experience. We will continue to come every year! Make sure you book in advance because it is quite popular and fills up fast!
