Grand Targhee Resort is a year round mountain resort situated on the western slope of the Tetons in Alta, Wyoming, accessible only through Teton Valley, Idaho. Located in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, the abundance of light powder snow (more than 500 inches annually) and lack of lift lines creates a great mountain experience with plenty of elbow room. The Resort is continually recognized for its great snow, genuine western hospitality, scenic beauty, excellent value and commitment to sustainability.During the winter, Grand Targhee is your Powder Paradise in the Heart of the Tetons averaging over 500 inches of champagne powder a year and the wide open slopes will provide endless opportunities for exploration! There are two mountains for you to explore with over 2,000 acres of lift served terrain, over 2,270 vertical feet, and an additional 600 acres of terrain reserved exclusively for Snowcat Adventures. Make sure to check out their other snow activities including dinner and a sleigh ride, 15K of Nordic skiing, fat “snow” bikes, daily snowshoe tours with the Resort Naturalist and a full line-up of après music at the Trap. The mountain is about an hour drive from Jackson Hole, WY, an hour and a half from Idaho Falls, ID, and only a short 5 hour drive from Salt Lake City, UT.During the summer you’ll find a wide variety of activities to keep the whole family content. Our family enjoyed out time at Grand Targhee though it is a bit of a drive to get there. Make sure your brakes are good before you go because it is quite far up the mountain! We stayed in Targhee Lodge which was basic but nice. No air conditioning but a can was provided, this worked fine during our stay. The pool was heated and the hot tub was fantastic! If going to visit the Tetons, this is a bit out of the way but otherwise a great stay!

We were with a group of 50+ going to the Grand Tetons, Jackson Hole, Bar J Wranglers and the Oregon/California Trail Museum so we stayed here for two nights. The room we had was comfortable the morning breakfast buffet just for our group was good and overall not a bad place to stay.

We stayed in the Teewinot Lodge. The room was clean and spacious and worked well for our overnight stay. We arrived at check-in time, but our room was not ready. The front office recommended walking around and maybe taking the lift to the top of the mountain. There was a lot of activity with the mountain bikers, and the folks enjoying the outdoor activities. We looked at the menu at the restaurant and then decided to try a trip up the mountain. We went to the front desk, but they told us that the lift would be shutting down in 30 minutes (last call at 445p). We weren't interested in spending $14 per person and not be able to explore the mountain and be ushered right back down. A little disappointing to say the least considering they had recommended it. Every employee we encountered (with the exception of one of the front desk personnel) were very friendly. The gentleman at the restaurant made a suggestion regarding a little exploring (leaving the property) since our room wasn't ready and he was SPOT ON. His "local" suggestion was just what we needed. Scenic and enjoyable (as we still waited for our room). We ended up eating in town, rather than the costly restaurant. We'd stay again. With the exception of the one 'less than helpful/friendly' person at the front desk, everyone seemed to enjoy their jobs and were happy to help us enjoy our stay and help us find something to do while we waited for our room.

A really nice room with good food and lots to do! We loved the salt water, heated pool and hot tub! We only asked for Housekeeping one day and that was not great (no coffee, cups or Kleenex), and the Trap Bar was closed the entire visit, so dinner was more expensive and more limited than we wanted, but the atmosphere was incredible! We had breakfast one morning at Snorkels and that was delicious and the portions were bigger than we expected! We loved they had a water filling station to fill up the backpack bladder, too! The sunset from our deck was stunning, too!
