After years of talking about my Jackson ski and snowmobiling trip many many years ago to my three East Coast daughters, I finally took them out to Wild Wyoming. We found The Flying Saddle and it was perfect location for our 'biling 70 mile trip thru Bridger Natl Forest, Grey's River trail. Experience of a lifetime! Back to the Saddle, the spacious adjoing Rooms were exceptionally clean and inviting, beds Very comfy:nice having extra vanity sink and mirror outside of bathroom, you know- women sharing a room and all... Hot tub soak and indoor pool dip much welcomed after our long day. Our rooms' balconies overlooked the river and beautiful snowy mountains. The majestic drive for our day trip to Jackson so worth the savings over staying in Jackson.(Many "Wows, look at that!" on the way). Our dinner last night in the bar/restaurant with fireplace going at the Saddle was Exceptional! Certainly the Best clam chowder I've had. We dine out alot back East and all was delighted with their order. Cudos to Chef Tom, Lisa, and the whole staff at The Saddle for making our stay memorable. I highly recommend booking at The Flying Saddle for your next trip to the area.

We are a couple who are building a place in Alpine. 6 months ago, we visited the steakhouse at The Flying Saddle with some new neighbors and were very impressed with the dining room, service and food. In February, we needed to visit the job site. I read all of the Trip Advisor reviews and decided to reserve a King Cabin for 4 nights. I'm glad we did. The front desk staff were warm and friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us. We knew the hotel rooms were not for us for a couple of reasons. One, several reviewers said the rooms were noisy and one building allows pets. Both wouldn't work for us. Our king cabin was quiet, roomy and cozy. It's rustic for sure, but the bed was comfortable, the water was instantly hot and the little electric fireplace in the living room was cozy. It snowed like we've never seen before, but we were warm and happy in our room. The other great thing about the resort is that we could walk a few steps to the main lodge for dinner or bar food. The first night we were invited to a Super Bowl party in the main restaurant. It was really great! Tons of Super Bowl food at $17 a head. They handed out free raffle tickets for prizes at halftime. Extremely nice and unexpected. We had dinner in the restaurant and bar. The Scottish Salmon was superb! I wouldn't hesitate to come back here. Keep in mind, this is a very small town with limited places to stay. It's an older hotel/motel, but they try very hard to take good care of you. I recommend you book through the hotel, not booking agencies. This way, the staff has more flexibility should something go wrong. The roads get closed here all of the time. BTW: We are world travelers and have stayed at the high end places in Jackson Hole. If you're a bit of a hotel snob, you need to keep driving. For us, this place has character, good value and nice staff members. It was a step back in time. We will be back!

The people there seemed nice enough but they act like they fill up every night and even getting a room there is a Miracle. I do not think there were 6 rooms been rented the nights we were there. Pricing isn't too bad, but they don't offer too many amenities either. WiFi did work pretty well.

We have had a change of management since your stay, and we are just now coming across these older reviews. I am sorry to hear about your negative experience. I am not able to find your reservation in our system, but I assume that you were staying in the older (standard) rooms. Although those rooms are less expensive and pet friendly, they are very dated and do not have refrigerators or microwaves. We do have more updated rooms. We also have several amenities here at our hotel that are uncommon or absent in other hotels in this small town, including a spa and pool, workout room, laundry room, tennis courts, basketball courts and horseshoe pits. We hope to serve you again. Let us know what we can do to make your stay better next time.

Horrible experience. Took twenty minutes to check in because the young lady was on her first day and had been left alone with little or no training. We had two rooms in the area that was outdated forty years ago. Tv,s didn’t work, hot tubs didn’t work. Rooms had a foul musty smell. When inquiring about breakfast, the lady laughed at me and said to go to the diner down the road. Their staff and entire experience was embarrassing.

We are sorry for your negative experience. We did not offer breakfast this past summer, but we will be offering breakfast again in a few weeks. We are in a Management transition, and would like to make things better for you. There are older rooms that are pet friendly, which seem to be the room type you stayed in. We do have newer, more updated rooms available. We also appreciate hearing about these things while you are still in house, so we have a chance to address any issues you are experiencing.
