Neighborhood
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.

We spend 3 marvellous nights in Casa Cool Beans. The situation, in San Teresa, gives many possibilities of nice restaurants and artist shops within some short walk, and is not so far from Rio Center. Sergio, and his team, are making the best to have you feeling at home. Rooms, clean and confortable, are spread around a patio, where touristic information is available. Breakfast in the garden, near the swimming pool, is a marvellous start for discovering RIO, with all you can dream for beakfast : Pancakes, eggs, and a special flavour of Brasil, with local fruits and juces. Our stay there was a pleasure !

From the first enquiry through to check out, the owners and staff here are totally there for your every need. You are looked after wonderfully, from tour to restaurant and music recommendations, safely tips, and general Rio chit-chat. The place is charming, simple but very comfortable with all you need, the location just perfect with many great places to eat very close by. You couldn't wish for more. Don't think twice - book it!

It's hard to find pleasure in ANY drippy wet city but thanks to a delightful 2 nights at Casa Cool Beans, we were more than pleased with w/ having made this our lodging choice. Casa Cool Beans is the kind of relaxed yet organized, comfortable but not pretentious, vacation-y vibe stay i would hope to create if i were a hotelier. The secure entrance reassured my husband's qualms about staying somewhere away from the sterile Copa/Ipanema madness. Our 'suite' was pretty and spacious and equipped w/ everything we needed (incl., for me, NO T.V.😁! Guys, you DO know that helps your love life, don't you???). I was in love w/ your sensuous green knit bed throw (if you're ever getting rid of these I'll give u my address). Breakfasts were like staying with a friend who liked to bake, eggs tailored your way and different breakfast breads each morning. Sergio is a gem. His communication ahead of time, his offer of help w/ Uber (especially w/ more clueless Canadian couple arriving the day we left), printing our boarding passes ... one got the feeling there was no circumstance he wasn't able to handle. Sorry not to have met other owners, it stands to reason that if an employee like Sergio has been at CCB this long, they too must be great guys. Jim and i travel a LOT, and planning where to stay often consumes me, especially as i, like Goldilocks, like to try different accommodations each country we visit. Casa Cool Beans was 'just right' ...and highly recommended.

If you want the anonymity of a chain hotel then Casa Cool Beans is not the place for you, but if small, intimate and personal is what you are looking for then look no further. From the day we booked we felt that the boys at Casa Cool Beans wanted to make sure we had the best stay possible. We were sent details of restaurants, complete with recommendations of the best items on the menus and how to get there from the hotel, details of various excursions and providers so that we could plan ahead and were there to answer any queries we had prior to our arrival. From the moment Sergio picked us at the airport we knew we were going to be well looked after. Casa Cool Beans is a really lovely B&B, great rooms, excellent breakfasts, great location, but, most importantly, manned by people who really do take an interest in you and your plans and want to help as much as possible. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Cool Beans and would highly recommend it.

Dearest stephenhR9427GW, Thank you for taking the time to review our Bed & Breakfast, Casa Cool Beans! We appreciate the great value we are able to deliver to guests coming to RIO (your room rate was about US$64!) It is not easy for local B&B's to provide the staffing and full breakfast that so many of our international guests demand.....hence why so many have gone out of business in the past couple years during the economic crisis here in Brazil....so we REALLY appreciate your patronage and support! Looking forward to hosting you again in the future! Warmly, Lance & David OWNERS and Sergio MANAGER
